A helyi televízió felvételein felborult autókat, kidőlt fákat és villanyvezetékeket, valamint megrongálódott házakat lehetett látni. Oklahoma Cityben 39 épület megsemmisült, 43 épületben nagyobb, 54-ben pedig kisebb károk keletkeztek. Vasárnap este több mint 13 000 ember maradhatott áram nélkül az államban.

A rendőrség elárulta, a helyszínen találtak egy kézifegyvert is, a tragédiát pedig gyilkosság-öngyilkosságként vizsgálják.
Jack Shackleford rendőrfőnök megosztotta, a rendőrök korábban több alkalommal is jártak már a lakóházban „családon belüli és mentális egészségügyi hívások miatt”. Jelenleg is folyik a nyomozás az ügyben, ám ennél több információt egyelőre nem kívántak megosztani a nyilvánossággal.
