A Pentagon több száz jelentést kapott új UFO-észlelésekről, köztük volt „több különösen érdekes eset” is ‒ közölte a jelentéseket kivizsgáló hivatal igazgatója, de hozzátette, hogy nem talált bizonyítékot földönkívüliek tevékenységére.
A Pentagon a Nemzeti Hírszerzési Igazgató Hivatalával (ODNI) és más kormányzati ügynökségekkel együttműködve eddig összesen 1652 jelentést kapott a most közzétett éves jelentés szerint. Csak 2023 májusa és 2024 júniusa között 757 jelentés érkezett hozzájuk. Az új észlelések növekvő száma az amerikai kormányzat bővülő erőfeszítéseit jelenti a hivatalosan azonosítatlan anomális jelenségeknek (UAP) nevezett jelenségek katalogizálására, nyomon követésére és kivizsgálására, különösen mivel az észlelések egy része katonai bázisok és nemzetbiztonsági létesítmények közelében történik ‒ írja a CNN.
„Az azonosítatlan anomális jelenségekről szóló jelentéseket, különösen a nemzetbiztonsági helyszínek közeléből szóló jelentéseket komolyan kell venni, és az Egyesült Államok kormányának tudományos alapossággal kell kivizsgálnia” ‒ fogalmazott Jon Kosloski, az All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) igazgatója.

Összesen 444 új bejelentést iktattak az aktív ügyek archívumába, mivel nem álltak rendelkezésre olyan adatok vagy bizonyítékok, amelyek alapján a nyomozók meg tudták volna határozni az eredetüket.
Az AARO jelentése szerint e lezárt esetek egyike sem külföldi ellenfelek vagy a fejlett technológiák áttörésének eredménye volt. A fennmaradó 21 esetre azonban még nem sikerült hihető magyarázatot találni, ami további adatokat és elemzést igényel. Kosloski szerint ezek között van néhány olyan eset, amit még ő sem ért a fizikai és mérnöki hátterével. „Nem ismerek senki mást sem, aki értené őket” ‒ tette hozzá Kosloki.
Kosloski szerint az észlelések ‒ amelyek többnyire az elmúlt 18 hónapban történtek ‒ különböző formájú tárgyak voltak, köztük „gömbök, hengerek és háromszögek”. Több mint 100 ezer orosz katona eshetett el az ukrán frontokon a Mediazona és a Meduza független orosz médiumok elemzése szerint. Az amerikai védelmi minisztériumból kiszivárgott információk alapján viszont már jó eséllyel a félmilliót is meghaladhatta a harcképtelenné vált (elesett, sebesült, eltűnt vagy fogságba esett) orosz katonák száma. A The Economist úgy becsüli, a 20 és 50 év közötti teljes orosz férfilakosság 2 százaléka meghalt vagy súlyos sebesülést szerzett az ukrán–orosz háború kezdete óta.
Bár Oroszország nem közöl adatokat arról, hány katonája halt meg vagy sebesült meg az Ukrajna ellen 2022-ben indított teljes körű inváziójában, különböző források szerint nemrég egy mérföldkőhöz érkeztek. Azonban – mint írták – a fenti becslések nem tartalmazzák többek közt azokat az orosz katonákat, akik olyan súlyos sérüléseket szenvedtek, hogy már nem tudnak visszatérni a harcmezőre, vagy eltűntek, fogságba estek, továbbá az Oroszország által megszállt ukrajnai területekről toborzott fegyvereseket sem.

A The Economist ugyanakkor a fentieket összevette néhány, a Pentagonból kiszivárgott dokumentummal (hogy pontosan mely dokumentumokról van szó, azt nem tisztázták, de az invázió kezdete óta jó néhány adatsor napvilágot látott az amerikai védelmi tárcától).
A portál e dokumentumok alapján készített egy saját becslést, amelynek fényében: valahol 462 ezer és 728 ezer között lehet azoknak az orosz katonáknak a száma, akik harcképtelenné váltak.
Ha az amerikaiak jól spekulálnak, akkor több orosz katona vesztette életét vagy szerzett súlyos sérülést az ukrán–orosz háborúban, mint amekkora Oroszország 2022 februárjában becsült teljes inváziós ereje lehetett (az ukránok által vasárnap közölt orosz háborús veszteség a két szám közt, 551 ezernél volt).
Nem beszélve arról, hogy a veszteségek Oroszország demográfiájára is óriási hatással lehetnek, ugyanis számszerűen a legtöbb elesett katona a 35 és 39 évesek közül került ki: ebből a korosztályból több mint 27 ezren haltak meg 2022 februárja és 2024 júniusa között. Arányosan viszont, Oroszország férfi lakosságát tekintve a legsúlyosabb veszteségeket a 45 és 49 évesek körében szenvedték el.
A The Economist emellett azt is kiemelte, hogy a 20 és 50 év közötti orosz férfiak nagyjából 2 százaléka hallhatott meg vagy szerezhetett súlyos sebesülést Ukrajna teljes körű inváziójának kezdete óta.

Mint hírportálunk tegnap beszámolt róla, Kirilo Timosenko, az Elnöki Hivatal vezetőjének helyettese bejelentette: az ukrán légvédelem az előzetes adatok szerint a kedd délutáni orosz támadás során 73 ellenséges cirkálórakétát lelőtt a 90-ből, és megsemmisített mind a 10 kamikaze drónt is, így csak 7 millió előfizető van jelenleg áram nélkül. Mint közölte, sikerült megsemmisíteni a célpontok felé tartó 10 kamikaze drón mindegyikét is. A rakéta-becsapódások 15 energetikai infrastrukturális létesítményben okoztak sérüléseket – tette hozzá.

A Politico beszámolója szerint ugyanis csak azért hagytak nyitva egy kaput a Hamid Karzai Nemzetközi Reptéren, hogy a britek evakuációs misszióját segítsék, és ezen a kapun keresztül juthattak be a terroristák.
Mint írják, Peter Vasely admirális, az afganisztáni amerikai erők parancsnoka személyesen hívta fel a helyszínen dolgozó katonákat, hogy hagyják nyitva az egyik kaput, mert a brit szövetségesek az evakuáción dolgoznak.
Néhány órával később pedig véghez is vitte az Iszlám Állam helyi szervezete a terrortámadást, amelynek következtében 170 afgán civil, 13 amerikai katona és két brit állampolgár is életét vesztette.

Vizsgálataik szerint a legtöbb, húsz civil Afganisztánban, egy ember Irakban, egy Szomáliában halt meg. Az áldozatokkal kivétel nélkül légi csapások végeztek. Nigéria valószínűleg a különleges egységek tavaly októberi túszszabadító akciója miatt került képbe, amikor egy amerikai állampolgárt mentettek ki emberrablók fogságából.
A tavalyi adatok jelentős javulást mutatnak a 2019-eshez képest, amikor 132 civil halálát és 91 sebesültet ismert el Washington. Joggal felmerülő kérdés persze, hogy mennyire megbízhatók a washingtoni adatok. A Pentagon jelentése hangsúlyozza, hogy minden civil sérüléséről érkező hírt kötelezően kivizsgálnak, érkezzen az bármilyen forrásból: saját információból, helyszíni beszámolókból, a média híradásából, a közösségi média bejegyzéseiből, civil szervezetektől. Az amerikai védelmi minisztérium szakértői ezután tanulmányozzák az eseteket, például megnézik, valóban történt-e a szóban forgó helyen és időben amerikai katonai művelet, tényleg amerikaiak hajtották-e végre azt vagy esetleg más erők, igyekeznek ellenőrizni a források hitelességét, továbbá hogy igazolhatóan civilek sérültek-e meg. Már csak ebből a felsorolásból is látszik, hogy meglehetősen szigorú feltételei vannak, hogy Washington elismerje a hibáját.
A panaszok túlnyomó többségének nem is adnak helyt, tavaly Afganisztánban például 165 jelentésből mindössze hét esetben találták igazoltnak, hogy amerikai katonákat terhel a felelősség a civilek bántódásáért.
A dokumentum is ezt a módszertani különbséget nevezi meg a fő okaként annak, hogy civil szervezetek rendre eltérő, sokkal lesújtóbb eredményre jutnak. A fegyveres konfliktusok civil áldozatait monitorozó Airwars szervezet becslései szerint a valós szám legalább ötszöröse lehet a beismertnek. Az ENSZ Afganisztánt segítő missziója tavaly is háromezer fölöttire tette az országban megölt civilek számát. Ugyan azt ők is megerősítik, hogy ennek csak elenyésző töredékéért, 89-ért felelnek a nemzetközi koalíciós erők, de arra már számos tényfeltáró riport figyelmeztetett, hogy az amerikaiak egyszerűen a helyiekkel végeztetik el a „piszkos munkát”.
Ha a „járulékos veszteséget” el is ismerik, felelősségre vonásra semmi esély. A Pentagon hárommillió dollárt különített el a civil áldozatok után járó kártérítésekre. Ebből tavaly egyetlen dollárt sem használtak fel.
