Augusztus 5-én reggel közlekedési baleset történt a Viharos és Alsórosztoka falvak között: egy autó lesodródott az útról, a szakadékba zuhant, és egy patakba borult.
A helyszínre rövid időn belül kiérkezett a 1302-es számú mentőegység és a katasztrófavédelem (DSZNSZ) egységei. A 32 éves szlovák állampolgárságú sofőr a jármű belsejében rekedt. A mentősök és a tűzoltók közösen emelték meg az autót emelő segítségével, kiszabadították a férfit, fájdalomcsillapítót adtak neki, betakarták, és rögzítették a testét.
Az előzetes diagnózis szerint a sérült zárt koponyasérülést, valamint zúzódásokat szenvedett a karján és a lábán. Kórházba szállították, nincs életveszélyben.

Jakutföld – hivatalos nevén Szaha Köztársaság – regionális belügyminisztériumának tájékoztatása szerint a baleset helyi idő szerint hajnali 3 óra után történt egy olyan útszakaszon, amely a Gyenyiszovszkij bányászati és feldolgozóüzem kezelésében áll.
A közlemény szerint a munkásokat szállító buszon több mint 30 ember utazott, amikor letért az útról, és mintegy 25 méternyit lezuhant.
A balesetben az elsődleges vizsgálati adatok szerint a busz vezetője is meghalt. A hét sérült közül kettő állapota súlyos. A helyszínre 13 mentőegységet rendeltek ki, és több mint negyvenen dolgoztak a mentésen.

Legalább 25 ember életét vesztette és 17 megsérült Peru hegyvidéki területén kedden egy távolsági busz balesetében – közölte Ayacucho régió egészségügyi hivatala.
A busz hajnalban megcsúszott az autópályán az Andokban fekvő Ayacucho régióban, felborult, majd körülbelül 200 méteres lejtőn zuhant lefelé – közölte Jhonny Rolando Valderrama, az autópálya-védelmi osztály vezetője az Andina állami hírügynökséggel.
Beszámolója szerint a baleset a Los Libertadores autópályán történt az ország középső részén, az Andokban található Ayacuchónál, ahol a mentési munkálatok jelenleg is folynak.
Egy vezető rendőrtiszt azt mondta, hogy az első információk szerint a buszban 42 utas tartózkodott.
A halálos buszbalesetek gyakoriak Peruban, ahol sok ilyen jármű közlekedik bizonytalan hegyi utakon, vagy nem megfelelően képzett sofőrök irányítása mellett.
Áprilisban legalább 25 ember halt meg, amikor egy busz folyóba zuhant Peru északi részén, Cajamarca régióban, míg tavaly szeptemberben legalább 24 ember halt meg egy hasonló balesetben Anco régióban.

A tájékoztatás szerint további 36-an megsérültek azt követően, hogy a távolsági busz a Huancavelica régióban található Anco település határában letért az útról, és mintegy kétszáz méternyit zuhant egy szakadékba.
A busz Ayacucho településéről Huancayóba tartott.
Az Andok országaiban gyakoriak a súlyos buszbalesetek. Az utak gyakran nehezen járhatók, és a járművek műszaki állapota is hagy kívánnivalót maga után. Peruban a helyi ombudsman adatai szerint évek óta növekszik a halálos közúti balesetek száma. Tavaly 3312-en vesztették életüket, és több mint 53 ezren sérültek meg ilyen jellegű szerencsétlenségekben.

A helyi hatóságok keddi közleménye szerint a pasadénai Dharmesh A. Patelt a San Mateo megyei börtönbe szállították, miután elbocsátották a kórházból, ahová a baleset után beszállították. A kaliforniai autópályarendőrség vizsgálata szerint a bizonyítékok arra utalnak, hogy a férfi szándékosan hajtott a szakadékba.
A CBS News értesülése szerint a 42 éves Patel mellett egy 41 éves nő, egy 7 éves kislány és egy 4 éves kisfiú is volt a kocsiban. Azt azonban nem tudták megerősíteni, hogy egy család tagjai voltak.
Ugyanakkor a Los Angeles-i Providence Holy Cross kórház, amelyben Patel orvosként dolgozik a radiológián, kedden kiadott közleményében sajnálkozását fejezte ki a közlekedési baleset miatt, és azt írták, hogy a kocsiban Patel a családjával utazott.
A hatóságok szerint csoda, hogy az autó mind a négy utasa túlélte a zuhanást a Pacific Coast Highway hírhedt sziklafaláról, ahol számos halálos baleset történik. A Tesla több mint 76 métert zuhant az autópályáról, többször megfordult, és teljesen összetörve a kerekein landolt a sziklák között.
A mentők mind a négy utast kórházba szállították. Az első jelentések szerint állapotuk súlyos volt, de eszméletüknél voltak. A gyerekek mozgásszervi sérüléseket szenvedtek, a felnőtteket traumás sérülésekkel helikopterrel vitték kórházba.

Két autót nyelt el egy víznyelő egy római utcában. A talajvízmozgás miatt kialakult hatalmas üreg az utóbbi évek egyik legnagyobb víznyelője az olasz fővárosban – számol be a Guardian.
A szakadék hat méter mély és húsz méter hosszú lett, miután a vízmosta üreg fölött beszakadt az aszfalt. Az üreg felett parkoló autókat mind elnyelte a megnyíló föld, de a hírek szerint komoly sérülés nem történt.
A Corriere della Sera azt írja, hogy az omlás előtti napokban néhány lakos vízszivárgásról számolt be. A szivárgó víz kimoshatta a földet az úttest alól, és amikor már nem tartotta semmi, az aszfalt beomlott, és vitte magával a kocsikat is.
Az Olasz Környezetvédelmi és Kutatóintézet szerint az utóbbi időkben az olasz fővárosban megnőtt a víznyelők száma.Ezek kialakulását segítik a város földalatti alagútjai, csatornái és ősi kőbányái.
