 Ukrán források arról számolnak be: a várost termobárikus fegyverekkel (vélhetően TOSz-1-es nehéz lángszórókkal) kezdték el lőni az orosz támadók, a védelem viszont továbbra is tartja állásait. Hőkamerás felvételeken mindenesetre hatalmas pusztítás látható.
 A TOSz-1A egy T-72-es alvázon működő rakéta-sorozatvető rendszer, az orosz „lángszóró” elnevezés arra utal, hogy a fegyverrendszer termobárikus tölteteket használ, melyek a levegőt gyújtják meg, amikor elműködnek, jelentős rombolóerejű robbanásokat generálva.
