A hírek szerint Kuzubot ez év április 1-ig vették őrizetbe óvadék joga nélkül.
A tárgyaláson bűnösnek vallotta magát, és elmondta, hogy segített élettársa rokonának megszökni a toborzóközpontból. A gyanúsított szerint meg akarta ijeszteni a katonákat, de nem sikerült neki, majd lőtt. Ugyanakkor Kuzub arról biztosított, hogy azt remélte, csak megsebesítette a katonát, és nem ölte meg.
Kuzub védője azt kérte, hogy helyezzék házi őrizetbe.
Egy másik gyanúsítottat, Jevhen Scserbakot, aki megszökött a toborzóközpont alkalmazottjai elől, szintén az ukrán fegyveres erők törvényes tevékenységének akadályozásával vádolják. A bíróságnak kell meghatározni számára a megelőző intézkedést.
