Szombat reggel Finnországban két nagyobb baleset történt a hirtelen kialakult sűrű köd és jeges útfelület miatt – számolt be az Yle.
Az egyik baleset a 4-es számú főúton, Lahti környékén következett be, a másik pedig a helyi körgyűrűn. Reggel nagyon sűrű köd és nulla fok körüli hőmérséklet volt, ami miatt a burkolaton szinte észrevehetetlen jég keletkezett.
A tömeges ütközés miatt a forgalmat Lahti térségében több órára lezárták. A mentők tájékoztatása szerint a balesetekben több mint 30 autó vett részt, és legalább négy személy sérült meg.
Minden érintettet kimentettek a sérült járművekből.
Súlyos baleset történt a wyomingi 80-as autópálya egyik hegyi alagútjában, ahol több jármű ütközött össze. A tragédia következtében legalább két ember életét vesztette, és öten megsérültek. A baleset után tűz és sűrű füst lepte el az alagutat, ami nemcsak a mentést nehezítette meg, hanem az alagút szerkezetét is veszélyeztette – számolt be a hirado.hu.

A robbanó gumiabroncsok és az egyre vastagabb füstréteg megnehezítették a mentők munkáját.
A Wyoming-i autópálya-rendőrség szerint a legfontosabb feladat az volt, hogy a sérülteket minél gyorsabban kimentsék az alagútból.
A baleset következményeként Wyoming közlekedési minisztériuma jelezte, hogy geológusok és hídmérnökök dolgoznak a helyszínen az alagút szerkezeti állapotának felmérésén.
A baleset súlyos károkat okozhatott az alagútban, ezért a hatóságok azonnal megkezdték a szükséges vizsgálatokat.
„Gondolataink és imáink a balesetben elhunytak hozzátartozóival vannak” – mondta Darin Westby, a Wyoming-i Közlekedési Minisztérium igazgatója.
Az elsősegélynyújtók és tűzoltók gyors reagálása kulcsfontosságú volt, és nagy segítséget nyújtottak a mentésben. Karl Germain alezredes, a Wyoming-i Autópálya Rendőrség alezredese külön is köszönetet mondott a Sweetwater megyei első válaszadóknak, akik kiemelkedő munkát végeztek a baleset kezelésében.
A baleset után a hatóságok lezárták az alagutat mindkét irányban, és csak az elsősegélynyújtók számára engedték meg a belépést az alagút keleti sávjában.

Hármas közúti baleset történ vasárnap hajnalban Lemberg közelében, ahol egy pótkocsis kamion, személyautó és kisbusz ütközött össze, a szerencsétlenségben heten életüket vesztették, hárman megsérültek – számolt be az rbc.ua hírportál a Lemberg megyei rendőrség sajtószolgálatára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint „a baleset ma hajnalban 5:30 órakor történt a Ternopil–Lemberg–Rava–Ruszka autóúton a lembergi járási Hizivki település határában.”
A rendőrség előzetes vizsgálata szerint három jármű – egy BMW személygépkocsi, egy DAF kamion és egy Mercedes Sprinter kisbusz – ütközött össze. „Hét ember – a Mercedes Sprinter kisbusz utasai, akiknek az adatait most ellenőrzik – a helyszínen életüket vesztették a baleset következtében szerzett sérülések következtében” – közölte a rendőrség.
Ezenkívül hárman megsérültek – a 45 éves kamionsofőr, a kisbusz 39 éves vezetője és 23 éves női utasa. Őket lembergi kórházakba szállították.

A német rendőrség letartóztatta egy teherautó sofőrjét, akit gyorshajtás miatt üldöztek több autópályán és csomóponton, ahol több balesetet is okozott, melyek során több mint 20 embert sérült meg. Erről a Rheinische Post számolt be a rendőrségi adatokra hivatkozva.
A rendőrség közölte, hogy a teherautó kaotikus mozgásának vizsgálata, amely számos balesetet és 26 sérültet eredményezett több autópályán Észak-Rajna-Vesztfáliában, folyamatban van. A német rendőrség szerint a sofőr kihallgatása megtörténik, amint az az orvosi vizsgálatokat követően lehetségessé válik.
A jelentések szerint a 30 éves sofőrt Hagennél tartóztatták le, miután a lengyel rendszámú teherautója több járművet is összetört, végül pedig egy szembesávban állt meg egy ütközést követően.
Összesen 50 jármű vett részt a balesetsorozatban, a sofőr alkoholt és drogokat fogyaszthatott.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a súlyosan sérült emberek száma nyolcra nőtt, köztük egy olyan személy is van, akinek az állapota életveszélyes. Ezen kívül 18 ember szenvedett könnyebb sérüléseket.
Tekintettel a balesetben érintett járművek nagy számára és a bonyolult helyzetre, a nyomozók nem zárják ki, hogy a sérültek száma még tovább emelkedhet.

Szombat este a Polsat News tudatta: a nyomozóhatóságok őrizetbe vették a baleset egyik résztvevőjét, egy 37 éves kamionsofőrt, aki az előzetes rendőrségi vizsgálat szerint belehajtott az előtte kialakult dugóban álló járművekbe, és így okozta a közlekedési katasztrófát.
