A meg nem nevezett nő decemberben adta be keresetét Sean Jay-Z Carter rappert és Sean P Diddy Combs rapper ellen a manhattani szövetségi bíróságon azt állítva, hogy az énekesek 2000-ben bántalmazták, miután Combs limuzinjának sofőrje felajánlotta neki, hogy elviszi a New York-i MTV Video Music Awards bulijára.
A nő ügyvédei által benyújtott bírósági dokumentum nem tartalmazott magyarázatot a kereset visszavonására. Jay-Z, aki hevesen tagadta a vádakat, és ki akart lépni a perből, „győzelemnek” nevezte a nő azon döntését, hogy elállt a keresetétől, és elmondása szerint a nő és ügyvédjei „kitalált meséje nevetséges”.
