Véget ért a világ talán leghíresebb fájának élete. A Northumberland Nemzeti Park Hatósága csütörtökön közölte Facebook-oldalán, hogy a Sycamore Gap nevű ikonikus szikomorfát kivágta egy 16 éves fiú.
A fa hírnevét jórészt onnan szerezte, hogy fontos szerepet játszott az 1991-es Robin Hood-filmben. A Sycamore Gap már körülbelül kétszáz éve állt a Nagy Britanniában található Hadrianus fala mellett.
„Megerősítjük, hogy a Sycamore Gap híres fája kidőlt az éjjel. Okunk van feltételezni, hogy szándékosan vágták ki. Együttműködünk az érintett ügynökségekkel és partnerekkel, akik érdeklődnek ez iránt az ikonikus észak-keleti különlegesség iránt, és további részleteket fogunk közzétenni, amint ismertté válnak” – írta bejegyzésében a nemzeti park.

A rendőrség megállapította, hogy mind a négy esetben egy 16, 17 és két 15 éves fiatalkorú fiúból álló csoport érintett. Valamennyiüket azonnal megkeresték és szüleikkel együtt a rendőrségre vitték. Mindannyian a járás valamelyik falujának lakói. A fiatalkorú elkövetők ittas állapotban voltak.
Jelenleg tart a sértetteknek okozott kár értékének megállapítása. A fiúk szüleit is felelősségre vonják helytelen nevelésükért. Rendőrök dolgoznak majd a családokkal.

Vandálok oltópontokat rongáltak meg Franciaországban, náci jelképeket festettek több épületre, népirtásnak minősítve a koronavírus elleni immunizációs kampányt – jelentette az MTI a helyi sajtóra hivatkozva.
Kevesebb mint egy hónap alatt mintegy húsz oltópontot és tesztközpontot rongáltak meg, gyújtottak fel vagy támadtak meg más módon Franciaországban.
A francia belügyminisztérium megállapította, hogy július közepe óta átlagosan naponta egy oltópontot vagy tesztközpontot megrongálnak az országban, és országszerte július 14. és augusztus 9. között mintegy húsz ilyen helyszínt támadtak meg – írja az RT a helyi sajtóra hivatkozva.

Mindezt azért, mert egy rendőrök elől menekülő sofőr balesetet okozott – ami miatt, sajátos módon, a vandálok a rendőröket hibáztatták.
A történtekről beszámoló La Nouvelle République francia regionális lap értesülései szerint a baleset azért történt, mert egy autó sofőrje nem volt hajlandó megállni az őt igazoltatni akaró rendőröknek, akik ezt követően üldözni kezdték. A menekülő sofőr áthajtott egy piros lámpán, majd összeütközött egy másik kocsival. A balesetben négy fiatal sérül meg, két tinédzser olyan súlyosan, hogy őket intenzív osztályra kellett szállítani, a vétkes sofőr elfutott a baleset után.

A hatalmas csattanásra hamar összeszaladtak a környékbeliek és őrült tombolásba kezdtek, több autót is felgyújtottak.
Az SICP rendőrszakszervezet Twitter-bejegyzése szerint három autót gyújtottak fel, megrongáltak egy benzinkutat, valamint egy bölcsődét is, de ezzel még nem volt vége a rombolásnak. Betörtek egy mindössze két napja megnyitott áruházba, kifosztották, majd azt is felgyújtották, mindezt azért, mert néhány ember ellenszegült a rendőri intézkedésnek, és saját hibájukból balesetet szenvedtek.
