A tragikomikus jelenetet többen is videóra vették, a kínai turisták komolyabb sérülés nélkül megúszták a balesetet.
Fagyos fürdőt vehetett egy csapat turista Velencében, miután felborult velük a gondola. A szemtanúk szerint hiába figyelmeztették őket, hogy ne készítsenek szelfiket és ne álljanak fel a csónakban, nem hallgattak a gondolásra.
A gondola épp egy híd alatt haladt át a Szent Márk tér közelében, amikor felborult, így utasai a jeges vízben landoltak, melyről videó is készült.
A Guardian beszámolója szerint direkt figyelmeztették a kínai utasokat, hogy üljenek nyugodtan, amíg a híd alá nem érnek, nehogy eltolódjon a hajó súlypontja, ennek ellenére tovább pózoltak és fotózkodtak.
A TikTokon közzétett videón jól látszik, ahogy a csuromvizes turisták jajveszékelve próbálnak kijutni a vízből és a felborult gondola mellett kikötött hajóra próbálnak felmászni.
A gondolás egyébként maga is vízbe ugrott, majd kisegítette utasait a másik hajóba, akik később pedig La Fenice színházban melegedhettek fel. A beszámolók szerint nem sérültek meg, csupán alaposan átfáztak.
