A rendőrség őrizetbe vette a hajó 44 éves kapitányát, akinek vérében alkoholt mutattak ki. Elsüllyedt egy turistákat szállító kirándulóhajó a horvátországi Split kikötőjében, miután az ittas kapitány nekivezette a járművet a partnak kikötés közben – adta hírül a HRT horvát televízió a honlapján.
A balesetben nem esett baja senkinek, de félő, hogy az elsüllyedt hajó szennyezést okozhat a kikötőben. A tűzoltóság elkerítette az incidens helyszínét, hogy elejét vegyék annak, hogy üzemanyag szivárogjon a tengerbe a hajóból. A hatóságok dolgoznak azon, hogy az elsüllyedt hajótestet mielőbb felszínre hozzák.
A Slobodna Dalmacija című horvát lap szerint a baleset egy hajóknak fenntartott, forgalmas üzemanyagtöltő-állomás közvetlen közelében történt.
A 21 méter hosszú Morska vila nevű kirándulóhajó Ciovo szigetről tartott Splitbe, ötvenen utaztak rajta. A rendőrség őrizetbe vette a hajó 44 éves kapitányát, akinek vérében alkoholt mutattak ki.
