Міністерство внутрішніх справ Алжиру заявило про щонайменше 15 загиблих і понад тисячу евакуйованих у зв’язку з лісовими пожежами.
Про це повідомляє BBC, передає Укрінформ.
Як зазначається, у понеділок у 16 провінціях Алжиру зафіксовано 97 лісових пожеж, вогонь охопив ліси, поля та сільськогосподарські угіддя.
Повідомляється по 26 постраждалих унаслідок пожеж і 1500 евакуйованих.
За словами влади, близько 7500 пожежників залучені до гасіння вогню.
Наймасштабніші пожежі в гірському регіоні Кабілі, що на сході Алжиру, поширилися на житлові райони прибережних міст Беджая та Джиджель.
Останніми днями на півночі Алжиру спостерігається рекордна спека – температура сягає 48 градусів за Цельсієм.
Метеорологічне управління Алжиру попередило, що така температура на півночі країни, ймовірно, зберігатиметься до кінця місяця.
Споживання електроенергії в Алжирі досягло найвищого рівня в історії країни.
