Потужний буревій, що пронісся Румунією увечері минулої п’ятниці, повалив сотні дерев, пошкодив будинки та автомобілі, а також забрав життя кількох людей, повідомило в суботу Управління з надзвичайних ситуацій (IGSU).
У повіті Ілфов буря зі швидкістю вітру 70–90 кілометрів на годину призвела до загибелі двох чоловіків – батька та сина, які плавали на каяку по озеру Снагов. У суботу вранці після кількох годин пошуків рятувальні служби знайшли їхні тіла.
У місті Негоєшті повіту Аргеш через сильний вітер на людей обвалився дах господарської будівлі: 18-річний хлопець загинув, 17-річний хлопець і 40-річний чоловік з важкими травмами були доставлені до лікарні.
За інформацією служби з надзвичайних ситуацій, у 78 населених пунктах 18 повітів знадобилася допомога пожежників. З доріг було прибрано 240 повалених дерев. Ураган пошкодив 73 автомобілі. З багатьох дворів, господарських будівель, підвалів довелося відкачувати воду. Найбільшої шкоди буря завдала в повітах Арджеш, Браш, Хуняд та Сатмар, а в повіті Валча через мул, нанесений на проїжджу частину, на кілька годин був перерваний рух національною дорогою DN7.

Піщані бурі ‒ звичайна справа в Іраку, але деякі експерти вважають, що вони частішають через зміну клімату.
Пішоходи та поліція носили маски для захисту від пилу, а на місці працювали парамедики, щоб допомогти людям із утрудненим диханням.
Понад 250 осіб було доставлено до лікарні в провінції Наджаф, і не менше 322 пацієнтів, включно з дітьми, госпіталізували до лікарень у провінції Дівані.
Ще 530 людей повідомили про проблеми з диханням у провінціях Ді-Кар та Басра.

У понеділок, 6 січня, більшу частину Сполучених Штатів Америки накрила потужна снігова буря. Стихія призвела до загибелі щонайменше чотирьох людей.

Як зазначається, через перший зимовий шторм у 2025 році у США були закриті дороги, тисячі людей залишилися без електрики.
Також відомо про щонайменше 4 жертви. За даними ЗМІ, трагічні інциденти сталися в Канзасі та Міссурі. Двоє людей загинули внаслідок ДТП через негоду. Водій не впорався з керуванням, і машина вилетіла з траси.
Останньою жертвою стала людина, яка померла від переохолодження. Через снігову бурю на території США скасували понад 2,2 тис. рейсів.
Влада закликала мешканців за можливості перебувати вдома, особливо водіїв. У багатьох округах школи перевели на дистанційне навчання.
Раніше CNN повідомила, що на США насувається найсильніший за десятиліття зимовий шторм. Він принесе сильний снігопад, небезпечний лід, дощ та грози на територію довжиною 1300 миль, та зачепить 62 мільйони людей.
Ця потужна погодна система обрушиться щонайменше дванадцять штатів, поєднуючи сніг, лід і снігові бурі з поривами вітру до 64 км/год, що створить небезпечні умови для пересування та потенційні відключення електрики у великому регіоні.
«Для декого це може стати сильним снігопадом за останні десять років» , – попередив Центр прогнозування погоди NOAA.
Також режим надзвичайної ситуації ввели до кінця вівторка 7 січня на території Вашингтона у зв’язку з снігопадом, про що йшлося в опублікованому розпорядженні мера міста Мюріель Боузер. Власників автомобілів закликали прибрати свої транспортні засоби. Тому греків, які мають респіраторні захворювання, закликали обмежити час перебування на відкритому повітрі, носити захисні маски та уникати фізичних навантажень, поки хмари пилу не розсіються.
Водночас, за даними Kathimerini, у середу, 24 квітня, пилова хмара над Грецією поступово зменшуватиметься, оскільки вітер понесе її далі на схід.

У німецькій Баварії на вихідних пройшла сильна буря з великим градом, унаслідок якої травми отримали щонайменше 12 людей.
Зафіксовано численні пошкодження будівель та майна, пише видання Associated Press. Дерева падали на припарковані автомобілі, дахи та стіни десятків будинків зруйновані.
„Сильний шторм із градом, більшим за тенісні м’ячі, спричинив значні пошкодження на півдні Німеччини. У Кісінзі, недалеко від Аугсбурга, 12 людей дістали поранення, коли зірвало пивний намет, який вони намагалися встановити”, – йдеться в повідомленні.
Також у Кіссінгу вітер зірвав дерев’яні рейки з даху будинку для людей похилого віку, а град завдав видимих пошкоджень фасаду житлового будинку.
Влада округу Бад-Баєрзоєні повідомила в неділю про град розміром до 8 см, який пошкодив припарковані автомобілі та розбив черепицю й мансардні вікна. Шторм також зірвав дахи з деяких будівель. За їхніми словами, 80% будівель отримали серйозні пошкодження, але ніхто не постраждав.
Стихія завдала значних матеріальних збитків. Влада оголосила надзвичайний стан у громаді Бад-Баєрзоєн на півдні Баварії, де буря пошкодила чотири п’ятих будівель.

У неділю Ірландія також постраждала від сильних бур, особливо район Данлікі в графстві Клер.
Протягом 20 хвилин ішов сильний дощ, і весь час лунали потужні удари блискавки. Останні, ймовірно, спричинили загибель 9 корів: очевидці, які виявили трупи, казали, що кінцівки тварин були підняті догори дибом.
В Ірландії вже траплявся схожий випадок: минулого року в Моніголлі від ударів блискавки загинули 8 корів.
У травні 2019-го в одному із зоопарків Флориди жертвами блискавки стали два жирафи, які знаходилися на пасовищі неподалік, коли раптом піднявся шторм.
Хоча блискавки зазвичай вражають хмарочоси та дерева, вони також можуть вийти на відкриту місцевість залежно від того, де накопичується напруга, і вдарити навіть за 40 кілометрів від грозової хмари, де небо здається ясним.
