Egy hatéves brit kisfiút is őrizetbe vették Mauritiuson, miután a helyi vámosok egy repülőtéri ellenőrzés során 14 kilogramm kannabiszt találtak a gyermek bőröndjében.
Az eset a Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam repülőtéren történt, amikor a kisfiú és hét másik utas egy London Gatwickről érkező British Airways járatról szállt le. A hatóságok több mint 161 kilogramm (355 font) kannabiszt fedeztek fel a csoport által szállított poggyászokban, amiknek piaci értékét mintegy 1,6 millió fontban határozták meg. A nyolc gyanúsított közül hét brit állampolgár, köztük a gyermek is, míg a nyolcadik gyanúsított egy Nagy-Britanniában élő román állampolgár.

A gyanúsítottaknál Apple AirTag nyomkövetőket is találtak, ami egy mobilalkalmazás, mellyel az értékek helyzetét követik. A hatóságok szerint a nemzetközi drogkereskedő bandák gyakran alkalmazzák ezeket az eszközöket illegális szállítmányaik nyomon követésére.
A vizsgálatok alapján a csoportot szervezett bűnözői hálózatként kezelik, ami felelős a kábítószerek Európából Mauritiusra történő csempészéséért. A helyi Le Mauricien lap értesülései szerint a hét brit gyanúsítottat kábítószer-kereskedelemmel vádolták meg, és előzetes letartóztatásba helyezték. A felnőtt gyanúsítottak hétfőn jelentek meg a délkelet-mauritiusi Mahebourg bíróságán, ahol az előzetes letartóztatásukról döntöttek.
A letartóztatásokat követően a hatóságok célzott razziákat hajtottak végre a brit állampolgárokat elszállásoló szállodákban, miután értesültek arról, hogy további külföldi utasok is részt vehetnek a kábítószer-szállításban. Ezek az akciók azonban nem vezettek további őrizetbe vételekhez.

A Fülöp-szigetek történetének legnagyobb drogfogását hajtották végre a manilai hatóságok 1,8 tonna metamfetamin lefoglalásával – közölte kedden az ország elnöke, ifj. Ferdinand Marcos.
A fővárostól délre található Batangas tartományban lefoglalt kábítószerek értékét 13,3 milliárd pesóra (több mint 86 milliárd forintra) becsülték a hatóságok.
A rendőrség hétfőn egy tartományi ellenőrző pont rendszeres vizsgálata során fedezte fel és foglalta le a kábítószert, a drogokat szállító jármű vezetőjét elfogták és rendőri őrizet alá helyezték – közölte újságírókkal Luis De Luna rendőrőrnagy.
„Ez a legnagyobb shabu-szállítmány (a metamfetamin kategóriájába tartozó népszerű helyi drog elnevezése), amit valaha lefoglaltunk” – mondta a Fülöp-szigetek elnöke újságíróknak, újfent fogadalmat téve a kábítószer-szállítmányok bejutásának megakadályozására. Marcos továbbá figyelmeztette a drogkereskedőket, hogy kormánya nem enged a kábítószer-kereskedelem felszámolására tett erőfeszítésekből.
A hivatalos adatok szerint Marcos adminisztrációja 2022 júliusa és 2023 decembere között 36 803 kábítószer-ellenes műveletet hajtott végre országszerte, amelyek során 13,2 tonnányi illegális drogot foglaltak le és 49 700 embert vettek őrizetbe.

Thaiföld történetének egyik legnagyobb kábítószerfogását hajtotta végre az ország rendőrsége egy Bangkok melletti településen – közölték csütörtökön hivatalosan. A 8,2 millió dollár értékű drogszállítmány lefoglalását kétévi nyomozás előzte meg.
A szerda esti akcióban négy férfit letartóztattak illegális kábítószerbirtoklás gyanújával. Az illetők a razzia során átkutatott bérelt házban tárolták a kábítószereket, mielőtt szétosztották volna az árut Bangkok környékén.
A rendőrség tájékoztatása szerint a lefoglalt kábítószerek között 15 millió metamfetamintablettát, 443 csomag heroint, 420 kilogramm kristályos metamfetamint és partidrogot, ezen belül pszichoaktív italok készítéséhez alkalmas anyagot, valamint „öt-öt” elnevezésű, nimetazepámtartalmú kábítószert is találtak. A lefoglalt kábítószereket egy sajtótájékoztatón mutatták be a médiának.
A kábítószerek származási helyére a rendőrség nem tért ki, de az ENSZ és más szakértők tájékoztatása szerint a legtöbb metamfetamin- és heroinszállítmány a szomszédos Mianmarból érkezik.
„Ez a drogfogás kétségkívül óriási eredmény, de utal arra is, hogy milyen súlyos állapotban van a biztonsági helyzet a szomszédos Mianmarban” – közölte Jeremy Douglas, az ENSZ Kábítószerellenőrzési és Bűnmegelőzési Hivatalának (UNODC) regionális képviselője az AP hírügynökséggel. „Nem látjuk, hogy a helyzet javulna, és egyre valószínűbb, hogy további hasonló esetek lesznek majd”– tette hozzá.
Az UNODC 2023 júniusi jelentésében arra figyelmeztetett, hogy Kelet- és Délkelet-Ázsiában ha nem is nő, de nem csökken a metamfetamin és az illegális kábítószerek kereskedelme. Egy másik, januári jelentésben rámutatnak, hogy a mianmari hadsereg hatalomátvétele után újból virágzásnak indult az ópiumtermelés.

Írország történetének legnagyobb, 157 millió euró értékű drogszállítmányát foglalták le egy panamai zászló alatt közlekedő teherhajón egy keddi tengeri műveletben.
Az ír hatóságok szerint a fedélzeten talált több mint 2,2 tonna, átszámítva mintegy 60 milliárd forint utcai értékű kokain lefoglalásával nagy csapást mértek a drogcsempészekre.
Az ír hadsereg egyik különleges alakulatának tagjai egy helikopterről ereszkedtek le köteleken a 190 méteres áruszállító hajó fedélzetére.
A biztonsági erők figyelmeztető lövéseket is leadtak. Az ömlesztett árut szállító hajót a dél-írországi Cork kikötőjébe kísérték.
A hatóságok a legénység három tagját őrizetbe vették, a 60, 50 és 31 éves férfiakat szervezett bűnözéssel vádolják.
A nyomozók abból indulnak ki, hogy a kábítószer egy dél-amerikai drogkartelltől származik, és részben Írországba, részben más európai országokba akarták küldeni.
A hatóságok egy összetett műveletről beszéltek, amelyben a haditengerészet mellett kábítószerügyekre szakosodott nyomozók és a vámhatóság szakemberei is részt vettek.

Az akcióban az ausztrál és a hongkongi hatóságok közösen vettek részt. Az 1,8 tonnányi folyékony methfogás rekordnak számít az országban, írja a Reuters.
A szállítmányról a hatóságok szerint az ausztrál rendőröknek Mexikóban sikerült információkat megszerezniük. Október 23-án csaptak le a szállítmányra, a folyékony metamfetamint kókuszvizes kartonok közé rejtve tárolták.
A kábítószert Ausztrália legnépesebb államába, Új-Dél-Walesbe tervezték áthajózni, ahol az utcai értéke egymilliárd dollár lett volna, és a mennyiség 18 millió adagnyi értékesítésre lett volna elegendő.
A rendőrök most nemzetközi együttműködés során a kereskedő bűnszervezetet igyekeznek felfedni.

Az amerikai parti őrség több tonna illegális kábítószert foglalt le csütörtökön, a dél-floridai Fort Lauderdale kikötőjében, a Port Evergladesben. A lefoglalást az amerikai hatóságok egyik legnagyobb akciójának keretében sikerült eszközölni, a parti őrség közlése szerint pedig a lefoglalt kábítószerek értéke meghaladja az egymilliárd dollárt.
A hatóságok összesen 24 720 kilogramm kokaint és 7166 kilogramm marihuánát találtak a rakományban. A parti őrség a zsákmányt úgy szerezte meg, hogy az elmúlt hónapokban megfigyeltek egy hajót; a hajóra végül a Csendes-óceán keleti részén és a Karib-tengeren csaptak le, jelentésük szerint pedig a kábítószer jelentős része Kolumbiából származik.
A hatóságok a nagyszabású akció keretében nagy teljesítményű drónokat és speciális infravörös kamerákat használtak, melyek képesek arra, hogy levadásszák a gyanús hajókat – számolt be az RT.

Csaknem 28 tonna marihuánát foglalt le a brazil szövetségi rendőrség a hatóságok csütörtöki közlése szerint a latin-amerikai ország történetének legnagyobb drogfogásában.
A rendőrség közlése szerint a csomagokba pakolt kábítószert egy kukoricaszállítmányba rejtve találták egy teherautó rakterében. A járművet a délnyugati Mato Grosso do Sul államban tartóztattak fel és kutatták át.
A kábítószer-csempészet vádjával őrizetbe vett sofőr később azt állította, hogy a teherautó már meg volt rakodva, amikor átvette, hogy útnak induljon a déli Rio Grande do Sul államba.
A rendvédelmi hatóság szerint a teherautót azt követően helyezték megfigyelés alá, hogy a sofőr feltűnt gyanús viselkedésével a brazil-paraguayi határon lévő Ponta Pora városának egyik szállodájában. Egyéb részletet a rendőrség nem közölt.
