Чоловіка, у роті якого вибухнула електронна сигарета, доставили до лікарні з серйозними травмами в ділянці рота й опіками на обличчі.
19-річного молодого пацієнта довелося доставити в реанімаційне відділення медичного центру Queen’s в університетській лікарні Ноттінгема, оскільки він зазнав надзвичайно важких травм, передає портал MEDizzy.
Комп’ютерна томографія, на щастя, не виявила травм голови або інших переломів, хоча в пацієнта знайшли також тріщини в кістках щелепи, кілька опіків і порізів у роті та навколо нього. Крім того, як зазначено у звіті, чотири пошкоджених зуба довелося видалити, бо вони не підлягали відновленню.
Вибухи електронних сигарет, як правило, можуть спричинити фізичні та хімічні опіки, а також призвести до пошкодження м’яких тканин рук, стегон, паху та статевих органів і навіть переломів при носінні в кишені.
Інцидент стався через несправність літій-іонного акумулятора електронної сигарети, і цей випадок не перший. Раніше повідомлялося про вибухи е-сигарет, які також призводили до переломів кісток, серйозних опіків і навіть смерті.
«Прокинувшись після наркозу, я почувався погано. Мені здавалося, що я сам не свій. Біль був нестерпний, ніби в кошмарі. Коли я повернувся додому й увійшов до кімнати, де стався вибух, мене пройняв холод», – згадує страшні моменти пацієнт.
Як правило, подібні аварії спричиняють літій-іонні акумулятори, на яких працюють електронні сигарети. Тому лікарі закликають виробників змінити технологію та розробити альтернативний дизайн, щоб запобігти майбутнім інцидентам.
