A jelentés szerint a kiadvány forrásai elmondták, hogy a holttestet 11:00 óra körül találták meg. Erőszakra utaló nyomok nem voltak rajta. Az informátorok hozzátették, hogy a férfi június 15-én érkezett Ukrajnába. Magas volt a koleszterinszintje. Az Egyesült Államok kijevi nagykövetsége egyelőre nem kommentálta az esetet.
Mint hírportálunk is beszámolt róla, június 16-án Kijevben fiatalok csoportja támadt egy külföldi állampolgárra egy szupermarketben, könnygázt fújtak az arcába, az elkövetőket azonosították és szüleikkel együtt előállították a rendőrségre. Rendőrségi források akkor elmondták, hogy a sértett az amerikai nagykövetség biztonsági szolgálatának egyik néger alkalmazottja.

Egész Nagy-Britanniát megdöbbentette az a gyilkosság, amelyről korábban már beszámoltunk. Az ashfordi erdőben találták meg Sarah Everard holttestét, és amint az később kiderült, a 33 éves marketinges nőt a 48 éves Wayne Couzens, a londoni Metropolitan Police-nél egy évtizede áll alkalmazásban rendőr előbb megerőszakolta, majd meggyilkolta.
Az elkövető megpróbált kibújni a felelősségre vonás alól, és letartóztatását követően kórházba is szállították, miután szándékosan fejsérüléseket ejtett magán. Az orvosok ellátták sebeit, majd ezt követően visszaszállították a rendőrségi fogdába.
Nos, a briteknek nem kall attól tartaniuk, hogy Couzens újabb áldozatot szed majd közülük, ugyanis a The Telegraph beszámolója szerint a bíróság életfogytig tartó börtönbüntetésre ítélte, azaz a rácsok mögött fog meghalni. Az ítélethirdetést követően John Apter, az angliai és walesi rendőrség első embere kijelentette, Couzens szégyent hozott az egyenruhájukra.
„A bírósági eljárás során nem nyilatkoztam, de most, hogy Couzenst elítélték, nem hallgathatok tovább. Ez a gyilkos a rendőrség teljes szégyene, és a tette miatt életem végéig szégyellni fogom, hogy ugyanazt az egyenruhát hordtuk. Árnyékot vetett a rendőrségre, megérdemelte, hogy sose szívjon szabad levegőt többé” – állította John Apter.

Lelőtt ukrán határőr holttestét találták meg csütörtök reggel az ukrán–román határnál Csernyivci megyében, az ügyben büntetőeljárás indult – közölte Szerhij Brovko, a Csernyivci megyei határőregység sajtószóvivője.
Brovko elmondása szerint a határőr testén lőtt seb van. A katona a haláláig szolgálati ügyeletben volt – tette hozzá. Mint hangsúlyozta, kellemetlen eset történt, az ügyben folyik a nyomozás.
Az elhunyt határőr 24 éves volt. Az eset körülményeit a hatóságok büntetőeljárás keretében vizsgálják.
