Ihor Terekhov, Harkiv polgármesterének hivatalos Telegram-bejegyzése szerint Oroszország május 17-én éjjel újabb pusztító tüzérségi és dróntámadást intézett a város ellen. Az orosz erők az éjszaka folyamán két Shahed drónnal mértek csapást a lakónegyedekre.
A polgármester tájékoztatása alapján az egyik Shahed drón a Szaltivszkij negyedben, közvetlenül lakóházak közelében csapódott be. A robbanás következtében hét gépkocsi kigyulladt, és további mintegy tíz jármű súlyosan megrongálódott. A közeli többszintes épületekben a hatalmas robbanáshullám betörte az ablaküvegeket, valamint az elektromos hálózat is találatot kapott – számolt be róla az RBC-Ukraine.
Egy ellenséges Shahed drón becsapódása következtében hét autó kigyulladt. További mintegy tíz jármű megrongálódott. A közeli többszintes épületekben a robbanáshullám ablaküvegeket rongált meg. Az elektromos hálózat is megrongálódott – áll a helyi idő szerint 02:03-kor kiadott hivatalos közleményben.
Nem sokkal később a polgármester arról tájékoztatott, hogy az ellenség a Holodnohirszkij járást is célba vette, ahol szintén tűz ütött ki.
Egy drón darabjai pedig a Kijevi negyedben hullottak le.
Az orosz egységek nem először vesznek célba civil infrastruktúrát a térségben. Egy nappal korábban, május 16-án reggel szintén támadás érte Harkovot: az ellenség akkor a Sevcsenkivszkij negyedet vette célba.
A csapás megrongálta a helyi metró kijáratait, a felsővezeték-hálózatot, egy trolibuszt, valamint egy buszmegállót is.
