A kínai állami média jelentése szerint vasárnap reggel tragikus esemény történt Hunan tartomány Hengjang városában. Egy turistaövezetben található lakóházat sárlavina borított el, amely legalább tizenkét ember életét követelte. A katasztrófa 21 embert ejtett csapdába, akik közül hat sérültet sikerült kimenteni.
A rendkívüli időjárási körülmények jelentősen hozzájárultak a tragédiához, a térségben ugyanis 24 óra alatt közel 30 centiméter csapadék hullott, amely a hegyekből lezúduló vízzel együtt okozta a végzetes sárcsuszamlást.
Az ország más részein is komoly gondokat okoz az időjárás. Csilin tartományban, az ország északkeleti részén árvízi védekezés közben két tisztviselő, köztük Lincsiang város alpolgármestere eltűnt. A hatóságok 27 ezer embert voltak kénytelenek evakuálni, számos gyár pedig felfüggesztette működését. A tartományi vezetés fokozott figyelmeztetést adott ki a hirtelen áradások veszélye miatt.
A Tajvanon és a Fülöp-szigeteken korábban pusztító Gaemi tájfun Kínát elérve trópusi viharrá gyengült, de így is jelentős károkat okozott. Fucsien tartományban 630 ezer embert érintettek a vihar következményei, közülük mintegy 315 ezren kényszerültek elhagyni otthonukat.

Legalább öt ember meghalt és 531 megsérült, amikor a Gaemi tájfun iszaplavinákat, áradásokat és baleseteket okozott Tajvan szigetén – közölték csütörtökön a helyi hatóságok.
A helyi televíziók légifelvételein elöntött területek és megrongálódott autóutak, illetve kidőlt fáktól megrongálódott járművek láthatók. A hatóságok közölték, hogy helyi idő szerint csütörtök estére több mint 60 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül Tajvanon, a hivatalokat és az iskolákat pedig az egész szigeten bezárták, és a tajvani tőzsde sem nyitott ki.
A tájfun miatt több mint 400 belföldi és nemzetközi repülőjáratot, valamint egyes vonatjáratokat is törölni kellett; a déli kikötőváros, Kaohsziung közelében pedig csütörtök reggel elsüllyedt egy tanzániai zászló alatt közlekedő teherhajó. Személyzetéből hárman sikeresen partra úsztak, hatan viszont eltűntek. A tajvani katasztrófavédelem bejelentette, hogy a mentést a rossz időjárás miatt fel kellett függeszteniük.

A fővárosban, Manilában pedig árvizet okozott.
A tajvani központi meteorológiai szolgálat csütörtök reggeli jelentése szerint a Tajvani-szoros, majd a kínai Fucsien tartomány felé haladó tájfun veszített már az erejéből, de a lakosságot továbbra is óvatosságra intették és a heves esők miatt árvízveszélyre figyelmeztettek.

Az Ak-Buura folyó áradása miatt kialakult iszapfolyam öt falut árasztott el a körzetben, elöntötte a tartományi székhely központi piacát, autókat sodort el, az embereket pedig a háztetőkre kényszerítette. A sárlavina következtében 788 lakóépület és kilenc intézmény, köztük iskolák és kórházak rongálódtak meg, az elektromos állomások és távvezetések sérülései miatt 7500 ember maradt áram nélkül – közölték a hatóságok.
A jelentések szerint a katasztrófában egy hétéves kislány és egy nő életét vesztette, a mentőcsapatok további három embert keresnek, akiket a sárlavinák sodortak el.
Os városában vészhelyzetet hirdettek az iszapömlések következményeinek kezelésére, illetve a sürgős intézkedések végrehajtásának biztosítására.

Két ember meghalt és négyen megsérültek egy sárlavinában a Fehér-völgyben, az észak-szlovákiai Bélai-havasokban – közölte Pavel Bekes, Zár település polgármestere.
Beszámolója szerint túrázók egy tizenhat fős csoportja keresett menedéket egy kunyhóban az eső elől, amikor a sárlavina lezúdult.
A Joj helyi televíziós csatorna szerint a halálos áldozatok egy szlovák és egy lengyel állampolgárságú nő voltak.
A hegyimentők mellett mentőhelikoptereket is riasztottak kimenteni a történtek helyszínén rekedt embereket.
A Fehér-völgyön keresztül vezet egy túrázók körében kedvelt ösvény a Magas-Tátrához, amit most földcsuszamlások veszélye miatt lezártak. Szlovákia északi és központi részén csütörtökön heves esőzések söpörtek végig.

A Burning Man rendezvény fesztiválozóit arra kérték, takarékoskodjanak az élelemmel és a vízzel, miután a heves esőzések sárfürdővé változtatták a kempinget. Az időjárás annyira rossz volt, hogy a Nevada államban tartott rendezvényre való be- és kijutást le kellett állítani a szervezők közleménye szerint.
Több mint 70 ezren rekedtek szombaton a Nevada államban megrendezett Burning Man fesztivál területén. A Black Rock sivatagban tartott, évente megrendezett fesztivál az Egyesült Államok egyik legismertebb kulturális eseménye – írja a BBC.
A közösségi médiában közzétett felvételek azt mutatják, hogy a résztvevők a sáros ösvényeken küszködnek. A szervezők közölték, hogy „amíg a playa felszíne fel nem szárad, a mentőszolgálat kivételével tilos a közlekedés”.
A résztvevőket arra biztatják, hogy takarékoskodjanak az élelemmel, a vízzel és az üzemanyaggal, és húzódjanak meg egy meleg, biztonságos helyen – tették hozzá közleményükben.
Mielőtt a fesztivál hivatalosan augusztus 27-én elkezdődött volna, a Hilary hurrikán utószele sújtott le a helyszínre, ami arra késztette a szervezőket, hogy lezárják a kapukat a korai érkezők előtt.
Most egy éjszakán át tartó, folyamatos esőzés után a hatalmas fesztivál sárban úszik, mindez egy nappal azelőtt történt, hogy az embereknek haza kellett volna indulniuk. A rendezvényen általában óriási interaktív művészeti installációk és egy hatalmas faember látható, amelyet az esemény végén elégetnek.
A fesztivál egyik résztvevője azonban azt mondta, hogy a legtöbb eseményt lefújták, mivel azok nagyrészt a homokos parton zajlanak, ahonnan jelenleg nem lehet sem ki-, sem bejutni.
A fesztiválozó, aki már második éve van jelen az eseményen a lányával együtt, elmondta, hogy az általában forró és poros sivatagban porviharokra készültek, de ehelyett heves eső fogadta őket.
Mindenki jól van, de van egyfajta bizonytalanság – fogalmazott, hozzátéve, hogy néhány ember sátrát elöntötte a víz, és nincs lehetőség kommunikálni senkivel.
A Burning Man mint esemény 1986 júniusában történt, amikor Larry Harvey és barátja, Jerry Goodell a nyári napforduló alkalmából egy faembert égetett el a San Francisco-i Baker Beachen. Később ennek híre ment, a fesztivál pedig erről kapta nevét, amelyet először 1990-ben rendeztek meg a nevadai Black Rock sivatagban.

2022-ben több mint 216 emberéletet követeltek és 538 ezer embert tettek földönfutóvá a heves esőzések a kormány által közzétett adatok szerint. További 48 embernek nyoma veszett az országban.

A 98 halálos áldozat közül legalább 53-an a Bangsamoro autonóm régióban található Maguindanaóban éltek, amelyet a Nalgae trópusi vihar szokatlanul heves esőzései öntöttek el.
Korábban a hatóságok 48 ember haláláról számoltak be.
A természeti katasztrófa több mint 1,9 millió embert érintett, közülük mintegy 975 ezret kitelepítettek. Több mint 309 ezren tartózkodnak menekültközpontokban – közölte a katasztrófavédelem.
A legtöbben, 53-an földcsuszamlásokban és áradásokban haltak meg pénteken a heves esőzéseket követően Mindanaón, az ország második legnagyobb szigetén, a szigetcsoport déli részén.
Naguib Sinarimbo, a Mindanao Bangsamoro régió polgári védelmi tisztje azt mondta, hogy a keresési és mentési műveletről áttérnek a mentési műveletre, mert a túlélés esélye két nap után gyakorlatilag nulla.
Az ország fő szigetére, Luzonra a vihar szombat éjjel csapott le, mindent elsöpört, ami az útjába került, és áramkimaradásokat okozott. Manilát és az ország többi települését belvíz öntötte el.
A Nyugat-Visayas régióban tizenkilenc, míg a Manilától délre fekvő Cavite, Laguna és Batangas tartományokban 12-en haltak meg. A vihar által sújtott más keleti és déli tartományokból további 14 halálesetet jelentettek. Huszonkilenc embert eltűntnek nyilvánítottak a kelet-visayasi régióban – közölte a katasztrófavédelem.
A Nalgae várhatóan hétfő késő este távolodik el a Fülöp-szigetek térségétől – közölte a meteorológiai hivatal. A szél maximális sebessége elérte az óránkénti 85 kilométert, a széllökéseké pedig az óránkénti 105 kilométert.
A Fülöp-szigeteket évente átlagosan 20 tájfun és heves vihar sújtja.

A közösségi médiában megjelent felvételek szerint nagy erőkkel kutatnak az északnyugati fekvésű Andes településen a gyerekek után, akik sorsáról egyelőre nem tudni. A videókon több tucat helybélit lehetett látni, ahogy ásókkal próbálnak utat törni egy lejtőn a törmelék és kidőlt fák között.
Quintero közölte, az első értesülések szerint nyolc gyerek rekedt a sártömeg alatt.
Medellín az Antioquia régió fővárosa, ahol Andes települése is található.
Eliana Rincones, az iskola egyedüli tanára arról számolt be, hogy a katasztrófa idején 22 gyerek tartózkodott az épületben. „Éppen szünetet tartottunk, amikor hirtelenjében valami nagyon hangosat hallottunk. Pillanatok alatt futásnak eredtünk” – mondta.
A földcsuszamlást a La Nina időjárási jelenség által kiváltott heves esőzések okozták, amelyek jelenleg Kolumbia nagy részét érintik.
