Rejtélyes kátránygolyók miatt lezártak két strandot Sydney-ben – tájékoztat a Guardian.
Az ismeretlen eredetű, fekete, golyó alakú törmeléket vízimentők fedezték fel a parton. A Coogee strandot kedden, a Gordons Bay strandot pedig szerdán zárták le.
„Az előzetes vizsgálati eredmények azt mutatják, hogy az anyag szénhidrogén-alapú szennyezőanyag, amely a kátrányban is megtalálható” – közölte Randwick városrész tanácsa.
Kátránygolyók akkor keletkeznek, amikor olaj törmelékkel és vízzel érintkezik, általában olajszennyezés vagy olajszivárgás következtében.
A rejtélyes golyók megtalálása után találtak egy olajfoltot a vízen. A hatóságok közlése szerint a strandok és a víz megtisztítása folyamatban van.

Turistákkal teli strandba csapott a villám Olaszország egyik legnépszerűbb tengerparti üdülőhelyén, Alba Adriaticán.
Az ANSA olasz hírügynökség szerint az eset délben történt, három fürdőzőt ért villámcsapás, ketten súlyos állapotban vannak.
A beszámolók szerint a borult volt az ég és néhány perce csepergett az eső is, amikor a tragédia történt.
„Egy morajlást lehetett hallani, és hirtelen pánik tört ki, apokaliptikus jelenetek voltak” – mondta egy szemtanú.
A strandon egy 41 éves helyi nőnek megállt a szíve, őt a helyszínen élesztették újra egy defibrillátor segítségével. Innen helikopterrel vitték kórházba, jelenleg is intenzív osztályon ápolják. Egy 64 éves belga turista is érintett volt, ő először arra panaszkodott, hogy nem érzi a lábát, majd a mentés közben kapott szívrohamot. Egy másik helyit, egy 44 éves strandolót is kórházba vittek.

Három fegyveres, valószínűleg egy drogkartell tagjai ütöttek rajta egy strandon Cancun szórakoztató és hotel negyedében, a támadok jet-skin érkeztek – írta meg a Dailystar.
Az incidens során lövések is eldördültek, de sem a szállodai személyzet, sem a vendégek nem sérültek meg.
A támadóknak sikerült a szárazföldön elmenekülniük, a támadáshoz használt jet-skiket pedig a kiérkező biztonsági erők lefoglalták.
A hatóság hajtóvadászatot indított a támadok felkutatására.
Az eset mindössze pár nappal azután történt, hogy a mexikói hadsereget Quintana Roo államba vezényelték a turisták védelmére, mert a fokozódó erőszak és bandaháborúk miatt már nem tudta a helyi rendőrség garantálni a térségbe látogatók biztonságát.
November 17-én egy kartellekhez köthető leszámolásban két turista halt meg, a mexikói kormány ezután döntött a térség biztonsági erőinek növelésében, a nemzeti gárda 1500 tagját is a helyszínre irányították.

Az heves esőzések miatt Odesszában nagy mennyiségű felszíni víz került a városi strandok vizeibe. Emiatt az odesszai lakosoknak és a város vendégeinek azt javasolják, tartózkodjanak a fürdőzéstől.
„A járványügyi helyzet romlásának megakadályozása és a vízzel terjedő betegségek megelőzése érdekében az Állami Élelmiszer- és Fogyasztói Szolgálat Odesszai Főosztálya azt javasolja, hogy ideiglenesen tartózkodjanak a tengervízben való fürdőzéstől”, áll a nyilatkozatban.

Bali híres strandjain kilencven tonna szemetet gyűjtöttek össze a hétvégén, a hatóságok már alig tudnak lépést tartani a monszunszezonban partra vetődő hatalmas mennyiségű műanyaghulladékkal.
A badungi környezet- és közegészségügyi hatóság Kuta, Legian és Seminyak strandjait tisztította meg pénteken és szombaton – írja a The Guardian című brit napilap online kiadása. A 90 tonna szemét eltakarítása azonban csak rövid időre oldja meg a gondokat, ugyanis a népszerű partokra napi 30-60 tonna (!) hulladék érkezik.
Az indonéz kormány 2020 áprilisában hirdetett országos stratégiát a tengeri környezetre és a gazdaságra egyaránt fenyegetést jelentő műanyaghulladék problémájának megoldására. Az ausztrál nemzeti tudományos intézet (CSIRO) munkatársa, Denise Hardesty szerint a műanyagszemét évről évre egyre súlyosbodó problémát jelent Bali partjain. Hardesty, aki szakértőként segíti az indonéz kormány munkáját, hozzátette, hogy a műanyaghulladék valószínűleg nem messziről érkezik és az indonéz szigetvilág sok más területére is hasonló sors várhat.
Bali délnyugati partszakaszain az esős és szeles monszunszezonban halmozódik fel a szemét. Hardesty szerint a fokozódó hulladékmennyiség összhangban van a műanyagtermelés globális növekedésével.
A helyiek ugyanakkor egyéni és közösségi szinten is próbálják csökkenteni a műanyagtermékek használatát. A CSIRO egy olyan új módszer bevezetését tervezi Indonéziában, amely egyebek között mesterséges intelligenciát használva követné nyomon a szemét útját és azonosítaná a gócpontokat.
Gede Hendrawan, a Balin működő Udayana Egyetem munkatársa szerint az egyik legfőbb probléma Indonézia nem megfelelő hulladékkezelési rendszere.

Napok óta tartó a kánikulában rengetegen voltak a belga strandokon a hét végén. A nagy tömegben verekedés tört ki, rendőrök is megsérültek, emiatt a belga tengerpart három népszerű városa, Oostende, Knokke és Blankenberge vezetése úgy döntött, hogy vasárnaptól nem engedi területére lépni az egy napra érkező fürdőzőket.
Blankenbergében szombat délután tömegverekedés tört ki a strandolók között, az ok egyelőre még tisztázatlan – írja a V4NA. A beszámolók szerint éppen dagály volt, így kevesebb lett a hely a strandon, az embereknek helyet kellett váltaniuk, és néhányaknak el is kellett menni. Egy társaság azonban nem akarta ezt megtenni, ráadásul hangosak is voltak, és agresszívé váltak.
Ahogy az a videón is látható, pillanatok alatt kitört a strandon a tömegverekedés, az emberek különböző tárgyakat dobáltak egymásra és a kiérkező rendőrökre is. Az eset során körülbelül 12 embert tartóztattak le, négy rendőr pedig megsérült.
Franciaországban, Étampes-ban – Párizs egyik elővárosában –, néhány nappal ezelőtt hasonló tömegverekedés történt. Több mint száz, illegális bevándorló a strandoló emberek szeme láttára verte kegyetlenül egymást, a rendőrség több mint egy óra elteltével tudta szétválasztani a verekedőket, könnygáz segítségével. Több fiatalt letartóztattak.
