Іракська розвідка і сили коаліції на чолі зі США вбили лідера «Ісламської держави» в Іраку і Сирії в ході спільної операції, заявив прем’єр-міністр Іраку в п’ятницю.
Прем’єр-міністр Іраку Мохаммед ас-Судан наголосив у своїй заяві, що «іракці продовжують свої великі перемоги над силами темряви і тероризму», додавши, що Абдалла Макі Мосле ар-Ріфаї, також відомий як «Абу-Каїда», є не тільки «заступником халіфа» терористичної організації, а й Іраку та одним з найнебезпечніших терористів у світі.
Два представники іракських сил безпеки, які побажали залишитися невідомими, повідомили американському інформаційному агентству AP, що Абу Кадіджа став мішенню для авіаудару в ніч на четвер в західній іракській провінції Аль-Анбар, але смерть лідера була підтверджена лише в п’ятницю.

Озброєні люди намагалися захопити головний міжнародний аеропорт у столиці Гаїті у місті Порт-о-Пренс. Там сталася стрілянина з поліцією.
Напад на міжнародний аеропорт ім. Туссен-Лувертюра сталося через кілька годин після того, як влада оголосила комендантську годину в Порт-о-Пренсі. На щастя, ніхто не постраждав: аеропорт був закритий, пасажирів у ньому не було, а співробітники встигли залишити авіагавань, їх евакуацію прикривала броньована вантажівка з поліцейськими.
Цю атаку на аеропорт називають найбільшою за всю історію Гаїті.
Раніше повідомлялося, що уряд Гаїті оголосив у Порт-о-Пренсі режим НС і ввів комендантську годину. Заходи були запроваджені з метою боротьби з бандитськими угрупованнями, які паралізували життя Порт-о-Пренса: вони напали на головну місцеву в’язницю та випустили тисячі в’язнів.

28 листопада о 16-й годині за місцевим часом в автомайстерні в Хіллсборо, штат Огайо, стався вибух, унаслідок якого троє людей загинули, ще одна особа була доставлена в лікарню, повідомила місцева влада.
Свідок події, який працює в магазині поруч із автомайстернею, розповів, що внаслідок вибуху навіть земля здригнулася. За словами чоловіка, вони з колегами вийшли на вулицю, щоб подивитися, що відбувається.
«Ми почули ще один вибух, а потім побачили полум’я. За кілька секунд пролунав ще один, розлетілося скло, затим зникла електроенергія», – розповів свідок.
Співробітник пожежної частини повідомив, що вибух було чути навіть у будівлі установи за кілька кварталів від місця події.
Троє людей загинули, ще одну особу госпіталізували з важкими травмами.
Керівник місцевої станції медичної допомоги повідомив, що стан доставленого в лікарню потерпілого стабільний.
Що спричинило вибух, наразі не відомо. Місцева пожежна служба проводить розслідування в цій справі, інформує CBS.

Президентка Гондурасу Сіомара Кастро наказала ввести нічну комендантську годину в двох містах країни через хвилю насильства.
Наразі обмеження ввели на 15 днів у містах Сан-Педро-Сула та Чолома, де, згідно із заявою президентки, правоохоронці здійснять рейди, перевірки та арешти.

У Чаді внаслідок зіткнення автобуса, повного пасажирів, з вантажівкою, яка через технічні несправності стояла на узбіччі дороги, загинуло 20 осіб. Трагедія сталася поблизу міста Ум-Хаджер у четвер увечері за місцевим часом.
В автобусі, який прямував зі столиці, Нджамени, до міста Абеш на сході центральноафриканської країни, їхала загалом 31 людина. За першими даними слідства, до трагедії призвело порушення правил безпеки дорожнього руху, а саме перевантаження транспортного засобу, перевищення дозволеної швидкості та неуважність водія через втому.
Цього місяця на континенті сталося кілька подібних серйозних автобусних ДТП з великою кількістю загиблих. Зокрема у двох аваріях автобусів у Сенегалі загинуло 60 людей.

У неділю, 16 жовтня, близько 11 години ранку екоактивіст руху Just Stop Oil («Просто зупиніть нафту») облив помаранчевою фарбою фасад флагманського автосалону Aston Martin у Лондоні. Учасники руху також заблокували дорогу на вулиці Парк-лейн.
Цим демонстранти Just Stop Oil хочуть звернути увагу британської влади на екологічну катастрофу у світі. Вони закликають припинити видобуток нафти та газу у Північному морі.
«Нас не зупинять судові заборони, покликані заглушити протест. Ми ненасильницький громадянський рух. Ми знаємо, що судові заборони проти нас не мають жодного значення в порівнянні з масовим голодом та політикою геноциду, яку проводить наш уряд», — заявив активіст, який розпорошував фарбу.
Причиною проведення акції став виклад плану з придушення протестів міністра внутрішніх справ Суелли Браверман. Вона пропонує карати протестувальників шістьма місяцями в’язниці чи необмеженим штрафом.
Нагадаємо, минулого тижня активісти Just Stop Oil залили томатним супом картину Ван Гога «Соняшники», яка зберігається в Лондонській національній галереї. Полотно не постраждало, оскільки було захищене склом. Протестувальників уже звинуватили у завданні шкоди рамі картини.
