 A mentőegységek rövid időn belül a helyszínre érkeztek. Az egyik sérült eszméletlen állapotban volt – a mentők megérkezéséig újraélesztést végeztek rajta, azonban a férfi életét nem sikerült megmenteni.
 A másik sérültet a DSZNSZ munkatársai felhozták a szakadékból, majd átadták a mentőszolgálat dolgozóinak.

 A jelenet drámaisága ellenére a férfi életben maradt. A LM Neuquén szerint körülbelül negyven métert zuhant.
 A szerencsés túlélő elmondta, hogy azt hitte, meg fog halni, de a fáknak köszönhetően komolyabb sérülés nélkül megúszta az esést. Jelenleg már a történtek sokkjából lábadozik.
 A videó villámgyors terjedése miatt a helyi hatóságok is reagáltak. A turisztikai park szóvivője azt mondta, hogy nem érkezett hozzájuk bejelentés arról, hogy bárki lezuhant volna a szikláról a festői területen. A felvétel helyszíne a Blade Rock nevű pont, amely nem tartozik a látogatók előtt megnyitott területekhez.

 A park hangsúlyozta: egyértelmű figyelmeztetések jelzik, hogy a látogatók nem léphetik át a kijelölt biztonsági zónákat.

 A tűzoltók előzőleg úgy tájékoztattak, hogy a balesetet defekt okozta a Minas Gervas állambeli Lajinha közelében, a vezető elveszítette az uralmat a jármű felett, majd összeütközött egy teherautóval.  Május elsején rengeteg turista rohamozta meg a kínai Csöcsiang tartományban található Yandang-hegyet. Az ott működő hegymászó iroda szerint a turisták több ezer méter magasságban kibiztosítva tudnak végig mászni egy meredek, kapaszkodókkal ellátott sziklafalon. 
 Általában nem szokott probléma lenni, azonban most a turisták nagy létszáma miatt torlódás alakult ki a sziklafalon. A mászóknak sokáig kellett várni, míg mindenki egyesével le tudott jönni a szikláról, többen egy órát fent lógtak.

 A szolgáltatók szerint alábecsülték a hegymászás iránt érdeklődők számát.
 A vállalat közleményében azt mondta: „Mivel rosszul ítéltük meg, hogy hány ügyfél fog jönni, a hatékony forgalomirányítás, például a jegyfoglalási rendszer hiánya, valamint a helyszíni irányítás hiányosságai miatt az ügyfelek elakadtak és csapdába estek a mászóútvonalon.”
 Az Alemi Haber szerint a cég azt is közölte, hogy ideiglenesen felfüggeszti a jegyértékesítést, és hamarosan forgalomirányító rendszert vezet be a vendégek számára.
 Az egyik hegymászó aggódó üzenetet küldött a rokonának, amelyben azt írta, hogy egy órája ragadtak a sziklafal oldalában és nem történik semmi. Megállt a sor.
 A sziklamászó vezetők szerint a probléma az volt, hogy túl sokan voltak ugyanazon az útvonalon.
 Aki pánikba esett, szakember segítségével le tudott ereszkedni, de mivel ez mentési díjjal járt, sokan úgy döntöttek, hogy maradnak.
 A Yandang Mountain Scenic Area szerint a díjat azért kellett fizetni, mert sokan nem fejezték be a pályát, és csak szórakozásból kérték, hogy eresszék le őket.
 A Yandang-hegyet, amely népszerű turisztikai célpont Kínában, 2001-ben jelölték az UNESCO potenciális világörökségi helyszínének – írja a The Sunra hivatkozva az Origo.
