На пляжі в місті Кротоне на півдні Італії в результаті нещасного випадку загинув 47-річний громадянин України.
Про це пише „Європейська правда” з посиланням на Corriere della Sera.
Інцидент стався в суботу, 27 липня, коли українець перебував на пляжі. Вважається, що він побачив неподалік рій ос, укус яких викликав у нього алергічну реакцію, і вирішив урятуватись від них, пірнувши в море.
Спершу вважалось, що причиною смерті став анафілактичний шок від укусу. Але в чоловіка не виявили слідів укусів, тому припускається, що в нього стався серцевий напад і він потонув.
За словами очевидців, врятувати українця було складно саме через масову присутність ос, які переслідували його. Комахи були настільки агресивними, що жалили всіх, хто наближався, зокрема поліцейських і карабінерів.
Попередній огляд пляжу встановив, що оси облаштувались безпосередньо у піску. У зв’язку з цим мер Кротоне Вінченцо Воче розпорядився закрити пляж, поки його не стане безпечно відвідувати.
Як пише Corriere della Sera, загиблий 47-річний українець працював інженером, у Кротоне він приїхав на відпочинок із родиною.
