Október 17-én, kedden a légiriadó idején Olaf Scholz német kancellár Tel-Aviv-i küldöttsége kénytelen volt leszállni a gépről és lefeküdni a földre – számolt be a Bild és Sarah Siewert német riporter a közösségi oldalakon.
A sajtó szerint a Scholz kancellár izraeli küldöttségét szállító repülőgép felszállása előtt légiriadó volt érvényben a Ben-Gurion repülőtéren. A biztonság kedvéért minden utasnak ki kellett szállnia és le kellett feküdnie a kifutón. Ezt követően Scholz kancellárt az óvóhelyre vitték. Ennek ellenére szemtanúja volt két robbanásnak.
Megjegyezték, hogy később a gépet és a küldöttség gépkocsiját is ellenőrizték. Az ideiglenes evakuálást követően a járat elindult Tel-Avivból Kairóba.
Mint ismeretes, a német kancellár lett az első kormányfő, aki a Hamász támadását követően Izraelbe látogatott.

De a Fehér Ház közleményéből az is kiderül, hogy Biden szombaton beszélt Bejamin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnökkel, amelynek során az amerikai elnök megerősítette támogatását a polgári lakosság védelmére irányuló erőfeszítésekkel kapcsolatban. A múlt hétvégén legalább 11 ukrán állampolgár vesztette életét a Hamász terroristáinak Izrael elleni támadásában – közölte pénteken Oleh Nyikolenko, a Külügyminisztérium szóvivője az rbc.ua hírportállal.
Nyikolenko elmondása szerint „a Külügyminisztérium meg tudja erősíteni tizenegy ukrán halálát Izraelben. További kilenc ukrán állampolgárt eltűntnek tekintenek.”
Korábban a külügyi szóvivő hét ukrán haláláról számolt be. Azt is közölte, hogy kilenc ukrán szenvedett különböző súlyosságú sérüléseket.
A Külügyminisztérium azt is bejelentette, hogy Ukrajna már evakuációs légijáratot készít állampolgárai számára Izraelből Romániába. Mint a hivatal hozzátette, további mintegy 200 ukrán jelezte, hogy ki akar menekülni a Gázai övezetből. A biztonság hiánya miatt azonban az indulásuk jelenleg nem lehetséges. Az izraeli, egyiptomi, jordániai ukrán nagykövetségek, valamint Ukrajna más érintett hivatalai aktív erőfeszítéseket tesznek annak érdekében, hogy az ukrán állampolgárok mielőbb kikerüljenek veszélyövezetből.

A londoni miniszterelnöki hivatal tájékoztatása szerint a brit királyi légierő (RAF) Boeing P-8 Poseidon típusú – a Boeing 737-800 polgári repülőgéptípusból katonai célokra továbbfejlesztett – felderítő gépei már péntektől megkezdik a járőrözést a térségben.
Elsődleges feladataik közé tartozik a regionális biztonságot fenyegető tevékenységek – például a terrorcsoportoknak szánt fegyverszállítások – felderítése.

A londoni kormányfői hivatal megfogalmazása szerint Sunak kérte emellett az Izraelben, Cipruson és a térségben máshol már most jelenlévő katonai egységek megerősítését a készenléti tervezés segítésére.

A Hamász fegyveresei szombaton meglepetésszerű támadást indítottak Izrael ellen, betörtek az ország déli részébe, ahol csütörtöki adatok szerint legalább 1300 embert megöltek. A támadás sérültjeinek száma mintegy 3000, és további körülbelül 150 embert elraboltak és túszként tartanak fogva Gázában.
Hivatalos brit adatok szerint tizenhét brit állampolgár halt meg vagy tűnt el a Hamász támadásában.
A BBC közszolgálati médiatársasággal a brit kormány közölte, hogy a brit állampolgárságú eltűntek között gyerekek is vannak.

Légitámadás érte csütörtökön a damaszkuszi és az aleppói repülőteret, mindkét helyen ideiglenesen leállították a forgalmat – jelentette a SANA szíriai állami hírügynökség, Izraelt téve felelőssé a támadásért.
A katonai forrásokra hivatkozó bejelentés szerint a támadás „csupán Izrael kétségbeesett kísérlete, hogy elterelje a figyelmet a Gázai övezeti palesztinok ellen elkövetett bűneiről, illetve a Hamász akciója miatt elszenvedett károkról”
A két repülőteret – melyek Szíria legfontosabb légikikötői – korábban már érték légitámadások, amelyek miatt működésük egy időre akkor is leállt.

Ismét rakétákkal támadta szerdán Izraelt a libanoni síita Hezbollah.
A fegyveres párt megerősítette, hogy ők követték el a támadást, a szervezet közleménye szerint a nagy pontosságú rakétákkal végrehajtott akció válasz volt az izraeli hadsereg által hétfőn elkövetett támadásra, melyben három Hezbollah-fegyveres életét vesztette.
Libanoni biztonsági források szerint a Hezbollah két precíziós rakétát lőtt ki Izrael irányába. Az izraeli hadsereg csupán annyit közölt, hogy támadás érte a libanoni Dajra településsel szemben lévő, izraeli oldalon található Aramse nevű, zömében beduinok lakta települést.
Libanoni helyszíni beszámolók szerint az izraeli erők válaszul ágyúzták a dél-libanoni Rmeis környékét, biztonsági források pedig hozzátették, hogy találat ért egy rakétaindító állást is Dajránál. Áldozatokról egyelőre nem érkezett hír.
Az Irán támogatását élvező Hezbollah kedden legkevesebb 15 rakétával támadta Izrael északi határvidékét, válaszul az izraeli hadsereg harckocsikból lőtte a szervezet fegyvereseinek két megfigyelőállását.

Harminc elrejtőzött embert szabadított ki egy izraeli kommandó hétfő este az Ejn Haslosa kibucban, az illetők a Hamász fegyveresei támadásának kezdete óta, vagyis három napon át voltak a rejtekhelyen – jelentette az izraeli média.
Az eddig eltűntként nyilvántartott emberek közül tizenhatan izraeliek, tizennégyen pedig thaiföldi mezőgazdasági vendégmunkások. Ez a kibuc a Gázai övezet déli határához és az egyiptomi határhoz közel található.
A hadsereg közlése szerint az eltűntek felkutatására megalakított parancsnokságot hétfő este értesítették az elrejtőzött csoport létezéséről. Menesztettek értük egy kommandót, amely meg is találta és biztonságos helyre vitte őket. Az ad hoc parancsnokságot közösen hozta létre a Sin Bet belbiztonsági szolgálat, a rendőrség, több minisztérium és a kibervédelmi szolgálat.
Kedd délután is voltak összecsapások az izraeli erők és Hamász-fegyveresek között a Gázai övezet északi részének szomszédságában, miután az iszlamista szervezet négy embere a Földközi tenger felől behatolt a tengerparti Zikim kibucba. Az izraeli hadsereg felszólította a még a kibucban tartózkodó civileket, hogy zárkózzanak be otthonukba, majd átfésülték a területet, és megölték a négy fegyverest – közölték hivatalosan.
A Hamász fegyveresei az övezetből kedd délután ismét rakétazáport zúdítottak Izrael déli és középső részére, Tel-Avivban ismét megszólaltak a légoltalmi szirénák.
