Egy anya, Owliyo Salaad mondja, hogy 12 gyermeke közül négy meghalt ebben a szárazságban, négy pedig súlyos beteg lett, annyira legyengült az éhezéstől.

Az orosz–ukrán háború következtében 32 ukrán újságíró vesztette életét. A hírt a Tömegtájékoztatási Intézet, illetve Olekszandr Tkacsenko kulturális és információs politikai miniszter közölte.

A tárcavezető hozzátette, hogy a lerombolt létesítmények csaknem fele különböző felekezetű templom volt. A tárcavezető az ukrán nemzeti örökség tudatos rombolásával vádolta meg Oroszországot. Példaként említette a Szkovoroda-múzeum lebombázását. Hrihorij Szkovoroda ukrán költő és filozófus volt a 18. században, a kelet-ukrajnai Harkiv megyében lévő múzeumát május elején találta el egy orosz rakéta. „Maga a múzeum két szántóföld között található. Az ottani infrastruktúra olyan, hogy erősen akarni kellett, hogy eltalálják ezt a kis épületet” – fogalmazott a miniszter.
Az Ukrajinszka Pravda hírportál a CNN amerikai hírtelevízióra hivatkozva arról számolt be, hogy a Szeverodonyecknél folyó harcokban könnyebb sérüléseket szenvedett a Reuters brit hírügynökség két újságírója, és életét vesztette az autójuk sofőrje, akit a kelet-ukrajnai szakadárok biztosítottak számukra.
Az ukrán vezérkar délutáni helyzetjelentésében egyebek mellett arról adott hírt, hogy az orosz erők az offenzíva folytatására készülnek a Donyeck megyei Szlovjanszk ellen, ezért ebben az irányban legfeljebb húsz zászlóalj harcászati csoportot összpontosítottak, a Luhanszk megyei Szeverodonyecknél pedig részleges harci sikereket értek el. Olekszandr Motuzjanik, a védelmi minisztérium szóvivője a Telegram üzenetküldő csatornán arról tájékoztatott, hogy az orosz erők megpróbálták bekeríteni az ukrán csapatokat Szeverodonyeck és Liszicsanszk térségében, de az ukrán fegyveres erők megakadályozták két falu, Metyolkine és Bilohorivka elfoglalását.
Az ukrán Szabadság Rádió helyszíni tudósítói arról számoltak be, hogy Szeverodonyeckbe külföldi önkéntesekből álló alakulat érkezett az ukrán erők segítségére. Az „idegenlégióba” a világ számos országából léptek be. Az újságírók beszéltek többek mellett egy Ausztráliából és egy Georgiából érkezett önkéntessel, akik meggyőződésüknek adtak hangot, hogy a „jó oldalon állnak”, és segíteni akarnak az ukránoknak „visszaűzni a megszállókat Oroszországba, bármeddig is tartson”.
