A jelentés nem említi a baleset feltételezett okát, de megjegyzi, hogy egy libát találtak a helikopter repülésirányító rendszerében, és további libákat is találtak a roncsok között.



Az NTSB szerint a valószínűsíthető okokról szóló jelentés elkészítése akár két évig is eltarthat.

Február 1-jén, csütörtökön a New York-i bíróság 40 év börtönbüntetésre ítélte a volt CIA-alkalmazottat, Joshua Schulte, Vault 7 kódnevű személyt, szigorúan titkos dokumentumok kiszivárogtatása vádjával. A hírt a Sky News közölte.







Megjegyezték, hogy a 35 éves Schultét kémkedésben, hackelésben, a bíróság megsértésében, az FBI-nak tett hamis nyilatkozatokban és gyermekpornográfia birtoklásában találták bűnösnek. Az amerikai hatóságok szerint Schulte hajtotta végre az Egyesült Államok történetének legnagyobb titkos adatlopását.



„Valószínűleg soha nem fogjuk megtudni a kár valódi mértékét, de nincs kétségem afelől, hogy óriásiak” – mondta Jesse Ferman bíró.



Az ügyészek életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést kértek rá, mondván, hogy a volt CIA-ügynök részt vett „az amerikai történelem legpusztítóbb titkos információinak kiszivárogtatásában”. Maga Schulte kijelentette, hogy „a kormány nem igazságot keres, hanem bosszút”.



Mint ismeretes, a Vault 7 adatkiszivárogtatása a legnagyobb volt az Egyesült Államok történetében. A CIA virginiai kiberhírszerzési részlegén tárolt mintegy 10 000 akta és dokumentum vált nyilvánosan elérhetővé.



2017-ben a WikiLeaks bejelentő ügynökség részleteket közölt arról, hogy a CIA hogyan kémkedett külföldi kormányok után azáltal, hogy kompromittálta elektronikai és számítógépes hálózataikat.

Idaho állam fővárosának repterén egy magántulajdonban lévő hangárt javítottak a munkások, amikor a baleset történt.



A tűzoltóság közölte, hogy a charter-járatokat üzemeltető Jackson Jet Center cég csarnokán több tucat ember dolgozott, közülük hárman azonnal életüket vesztették a balesetben, öten pedig életveszélyes állapotban vannak.



„Nem tudjuk pontosan, mi okozta a hangár összeomlását. Most arra összpontosítunk, hogy támogassuk a csapatunkat és partnereinket ebben a nehéz időszakban” – közölte Jessica Flynn, a Jackson Jet Center szóvivője.



Aaron Hummel, a fővárosi rendőrség műveleti vezetője „katasztrofálisnak” nevezte a történteket, és közölte, hogy rendőrségi nyomozást is indítottak az ügyben. Az üzemeltető közölte, hogy a repülőtér működését nem befolyásolja a baleset.

Mississippiben a hatóságok arra intették a lakosságot, hogy „csak akkor vezessenek, ha szükséges”. Az állam főiskolái és egyetemei a körülmények miatt meghosszabbították a téliszünetet és elhalasztották a tavaszi félév kezdetét.

Az Amerikai Egyesült Államok több államában okozott további baleseteket, áramkimaradásokat és tanítási szünetet a téli időjárás csütörtökön, a keleti partra a következő napokra újabb jelentős havazást jeleztek előre a meteorológusok.







New York városára több mint két év után kedden hullott ismét jelentősebb hó, és pénteken további 5 centimétert várnak, ami miatt figyelmeztetést adtak ki.



Csütörtökön a New York állambeli Rochester város repülőterén leszállás után, már gurulás közben lecsúszott az aszfaltról egy kisebb utasszállító repülő, amelynek fedélzetét a tűzoltók segítségével tudták elhagyni az utasok. Az incidensben senki nem sérült meg.









A keleti parti New Jersey és Pennsylvania államok több térségében péntekre szintén további havazást várnak.



A fővárosban, Washingtonban péntekre virradóra újabb több centiméter hó hullott, ami jelentősen lelassította a közlekedést. Maryland, Virginia és Nyugat-Virginia állam több megyéjében az újabb havazás miatt péntekre iskolai szünetet rendeltek el. Nyugat-Virginia állam kormányzója még csütörtökön veszélyhelyzetet hirdetett.



A nyugati parti Oregon kormányzója csütörtök éjszaka hirdetett szükséghelyzetet, mert az állam több megyéje nehezen tud megbirkózni a napokkal ezelőtt hullott fagyott eső okozta károkkal, aminek nyomán fák dőltek utakra, villanyvezetékek szakadtak le. Oregonban a péntek hajnali összesítés szerint még mindig több mint 100 ezer háztartásban szünetelt az áramszolgáltatás.

A hatóságok szerint az Egyesült Államokban az elmúlt két hétben kialakult viharok és télies időjárási körülmények miatt 45 ember veszítette életét. Három embert halálos áramütés ért egy leszakadt vezeték miatt, amikor kiszálltak egy autóból Oregon államban.



A télies időjárás a déli Tennessee államban is további fennakadásokat okoz. Az ott rendkívül ritka, helyenként mínusz 15 Celsius-foknál alacsonyabb hőmérséklet komoly terhelést ró az elektromos hálózatra.









Nashville városának egyes részeire vasárnap óta 22 centiméter hó hullott. A helyi összegzések szerint a télies körülmények miatt az elmúlt 5 napban 14 ember veszítette életét az állam területén.



Az északnyugati Washington államban, Seattle városában a nagy hidegben 5 ember halálát okozta kihűlés az utcán.



Észak-Dakota államban a Bakken olajmező létesítményeiben okozott károkat az ott szokatlanul nagy hideg. A beszámolók szerint a mínusz 56 Celsius-fokos hőérzet mind a dolgozókra, mind a berendezésekre komoly terhelést rótt, megnövelve balesetek bekövetkeztének esélyét.

A helyi hatóságok közlése szerint egy nő száz láb (harminc méter) mélyre zuhant barlangászás közben Virginiában – írja az ABC News. A Giles megyei seriffhivatalt pénteken délután nem sokkal 4 óra után értesítették, mondván, a baleset egy barlangban történt Staffordsville-ben.

A bejelentés után a hatóságok mellett egy mentőcsapat is érkezett a helyszínre, de hamar rájöttek, hogy további speciális segítségre van szükség. Ezt követően érkezett meg a Blacksburg Rescue Squad barlangász csapata, hogy segítsenek a mentési munkálatokban. Miután megtalálták a nőt és halottnak nyilvánították, a holttestét a felszínre hozták.



A baleset körülményeit még vizsgálják, egyéb információt pedig nem közöltek.
