Izrael elismerte az amerikai kormánynak, hogy az izraeli hadsereg felelős Szajjád Hodaji iráni ezredes haláláért, aki az iráni Forradalmi Gárda külső műveletekért felelős titkos katonai elit egységének, az al-Kudsznak volt a tagja – jelentette a The New York Times (NYT) szerda este.
A baloldali-liberális amerikai napilap online cikke az iráni állami hírügynökségre hivatkozva azt írta: Szajjád Hodajit vasárnap ölte meg két motoros, akik a Teherán keleti részén álló lakása előtt öt lövést adtak le a gépkocsijában ülő 50 éves ezredesre.
Izraeli kormányzati, katonai és hírszerzési tisztségviselők szerint Szajjád Hodaji volt annak a 840-es egységnek nevezett titkos katonai alakulatnak a helyettes vezetője, amelynek izraeli kormánytisztviselők és civilek, illetve más külföldi állampolgárok elrablása és meggyilkolása volt a feladata a világ bármely pontján.
Teherán sosem ismerte el a halálbrigád létezését sem – tette hozzá a napilap.
A NYT kiemelte: az izraeli miniszterelnök szóvivője ugyan nem kommentálta a gyilkossággal kapcsolatos kérdéseket, de az ezzel kapcsolatos izraeli-amerikai információcserét és kommunikációt jól ismerő hírszerzési tisztviselő szerint Izrael arról tájékoztatta az amerikai tisztségviselőket, hogy Izrael áll a merénylet mögött.
Az amerikai napilap cikke szerint Irán azonnal Izraelt vádolta meg a gyilkossággal, amely az írás szerint az iráni célpontok ellen végrehajtott izraeli célzott kivégzések tipikus jegyeit viselte magán. Ezek a célzott kivégzések mind részei annak a titkos, háttérben folyó háborúnak, amelyet földön, vízen, levegőben és a kibertérben folytatnak egymás ellen a felek – fogalmazott a NYT.
„Gondunk lesz rá, hogy az ellenség megbánja, amit tett, és az ellenség ördögi lépései nem maradnak majd válasz nélkül” – jelentette ki hétfői beszédében Hosszein Szalami tábornok, a Forradalmi Gárda főparancsnoka. Az iráni állami hírügynökség szerint Madzsid Mirahmadi, az iráni nemzetbiztonsági tanács tagja pedig leszögezte: a merénylet minden kétséget kizáró módon Izrael akciója volt, és arra figyelmeztetett, hogy kőkemény bosszút állnak – tette hozzá az amerikai napilap.
Az Egyesült Államok még 2019-ben helyezte az iráni Forradalmi Gárdát a külföldi terrorszervezeteket tartalmazó listájára, amely döntés már többször megakasztotta a 2015-ös iráni nukleáris megállapodás felélesztésével kapcsolatos tárgyalásokat, mivel Teherán több ízben szabta feltételül, hogy Washington vegye le a Forradalmi Gárdát a terrorszervezetek listájáról – magyarázta a The New York Times cikke.

„A cionista rezsim hírszerzési szolgálatának útmutatása alatt működő hálózat banditák közreműködésével állami és magántulajdon ellopásával, illetve megsemmisítésével, valamint emberrablásokkal és koholt tanúvallomások megszerzésével próbálkozott” – ismertette a Forradalmi Gárda sajtószolgálata közleményében Izraelre utalva.
Az állami sajtó mindemellett beszámolt arról is, hogy a Forradalmi Gárda egyik ezredesét ismeretlen elkövetők agyonlőtték Teherán belvárosában lévő otthona előtt. A tájékoztatás szerint Hasszán Szajad Hodajarival öt lövés végzett az autójában.
A sajtóértesülések mindössze „a szentély védelmezőjeként” hivatkoztak az ezredesre, ami utalás azon iráni katonákra, akik Szíriában és Irakban harcoltak az Iszlám Állam szélsőségesei ellen a Forradalmi Gárda külföldi műveletekért felelős al-Kudsz nevű elitalakulatának soraiban. Egyelőre senki sem jelentkezett a merénylet elkövetőjeként.

A Saudi Aramco nevű szaúdi állami olajvállalat arról számolt be, hogy a dzsiddai elosztóközpontban két tartályt ért találat, de személyi sérülés nem történt. A város fölé fekete füstoszlop emelkedett, és a tűz fénye a versenypályáról is látható volt – írja az MTI.
A szaúdi energiaügyi minisztérium Iránt kárhoztatta, amiért Teherán továbbra is ballisztikus rakétákkal és korszerű drónokkal fegyverzi fel a jemeni felkelőket. Irán mindezt tagadja.
Stefano Domenicali, a Formula–1 főnöke egy forrás szerint arról tájékoztatta a csapatokat, hogy a szaúdi nagydíjat az eredeti tervek szerint megtartják.
A jemeni húszik ellen harcoló, szaúdi vezetésű arab koalíció szombat hajnalban bejelentette, hogy katonai műveletet indított Jemenben olajlétesítményei és a „globális energiaforrások” védelme érdekében. A koalíció szerint a húsziknak „viselniük kell tetteik következményeit”. A szaúdi állami média jelentése szerint a koalíció felszólította a civil lakosságot, hogy tartsa magát távol olajlétesítményektől a jemeni Hodeida tartományban. Szemtanúk szerint a koalíció harci gépei a hodeidai kikötő környékét támadják.
Szaúd-Arábia arab szövetségeseivel együtt 2015-ben avatkozott be a jemeni polgárháborúba a nemzetközileg elismert kormány oldalán, miután a húszik lerohanták a fővárost, és elüldözték az országból a kabinetet, amely most Szaúd-Arábiában működik.

A rakétákat Iránból indították el, amikkel az amerikai konzulátus épületére céloztak Erbílben.
Akár egy tucat rakétát is kilőhettek Iránból vasárnap éjjel az Egyesült Államok konzulátusa felé Erbílben, amit a tisztviselők már megerősítettek. Egyelőre áldozatokról nem érkezett jelentés, bár az iraki és az amerikai tisztviselők eltérő módon számoltak be a súlyos eseményről.
Az amerikai külügyminisztérium szóvivője az AP kérdésére elmondta, felháborító támadásnak tartják, ami történt, amivel az iraki szuverenitást célozták meg. A neve elhallgatását kérő tisztviselő elmondása szerint egyetlen amerikai sem sérült meg a rakétatámadásban, és az új konzulátus épületében sem keletkezett kár, ami jelenleg üresen áll.
A New York Post hozzáteszi, az irakiak szerint akár 12 rakétát is indíthattak Iránból, amikkel a konzulátust vették célba, melyek anyagi kárt okoztak. Nem sokkal éjfél után történt a támadás, és egyelőre az irakiak oldaláról sem számoltak be áldozatokról.
A támadást az iraki kormány és a regionális kurd kormány is vizsgálja. További részleteket nem tettek közzé, az amerikai tisztviselők nem tudták megerősíteni, hogy milyen típusú rakétákat lőttek ki Iránból. A támadás napokkal azután történt, hogy egy izraeli légicsapásban meghalt az iráni Forradalmi Gárda két tagja Damaszkusz közelében Szíriában. Az iráni külügyminisztérium határozottan elítélte a támadást, és bosszút fogadott.
A háttérben egy ideje zajlanak a tárgyalások a 2015-ös iráni atomalkuhoz való esetleges visszatérésről, de pénteken mindenfajta megállapodás nélkül szakadtak meg a tárgyalások Bécsben, miután az újabb orosz követelések megzavarták a párbeszédet. Az eset az északnyugati Kelet-Azerbajdzsán tartomány székhelyén, az 1,6 millió lakosú Tebrizben történt. Az F5 típusú gép egy iskolakomplexum területén csapódott be. Az intézmény a koronavírus-járvány miatt zárva volt a tragédia pillanatában.
A tebrizi katonai légitámaszpont parancsnoka azt mondta az IRNA jelentése szerint, hogy a gépet gyakorlásra használták, műszaki probléma merült fel repülés közben, és a pilóták már nem tudtak eljutni a leszállópályáig. A pilóták, hogy ne lakóházakra zuhanjanak, az üres komplexum felé irányították a gépet.
A pilóták feláldozták az életüket, használhatták volna a katapultot, ehelyett azzal foglalkoztak, hogy elkerüljék a földön lévő emberek halálát” – mondta Reza Juszefi tábornok.

Egy kanadai bíróság csaknem 75 millió euró kifizetését rendelte azon hat család számára, akik rokonai az „Ukrajna Nemzetközi Légi járatai” gépének Teherán feletti balesetében vesztették életüket. Egyelőre nem tisztázott, hogy az áldozatok családjai miként kapják meg az összeget Irántól.
A kanadai Ontario tartomány Legfelsőbb bírósága január 3-án hozott ítéletet, miszerint Iránnak 107 millió kanadai dollárt (közel 75 millió eurót) kell kifizetnie az „Ukrajna Nemzetközi Légi járatai” (Ukraine International Airlines) két évvel ezelőtti teheráni katasztrófája hat áldozata hozzátartozóinak.
Egyelőre nem tisztázott, hogy az elhunyt kanadaiak hozzátartozói hogyan kapják meg a pénzt Teherántól. A bírósági ítélet azonban szimbolikus jelentőségű azoknak a családok számára, akik az iráni nyomozás átláthatóságának hiányára és az igazságszolgáltatás képtelenségére panaszkodtak, közölte az AP.
Megjegyzendő, hogy a kártérítésről Edward Beloboba kanadai bíró döntött, aki májusban arra a következtetésre jutott, hogy Irán, amikor lelőtt egy utasszállító repülőgépet – terrorcselekményt követett el. Ez lehetővé tette az áldozatok családjainak, hogy kártérítésért pereljenek. 1,5 milliárd kanadai dollár kártérítést követeltek. Teherán akkor elítélte a határozatot, mondván, hogy az „alaptalan”, és Kanadának nincs joghatósága a kérdésben.
2021 júniusában Svédország, az Egyesült Királyság, Ukrajna és Kanada pert indított Irán ellen, az áldozatok családjai számára kártérítést követelve. Ezzel egy időben a kanadai hatóságok közzétették a kanadai igazságügyi szakértők egy csoportjának jelentését az Ukraine International Airlines utasszállító repülőgépének iráni katasztrófáját illetően, amely megerősíti, teljes mértékben az iráni polgári és katonai hatóságok felelősek a gép lezuhanásáért.
„Ukrajna Nemzetközi Légi járatai” gépének katasztrófája
Az „Ukrajna Nemzetközi Légi járatai” Boeing 737-800 típusú utasszállító PS752-es, Teherán-Kijev járatot teljesítő repülőgépe 2020. január 8-án, közvetlenül a felszállás után lezuhant a Teherán melletti Imám Khomeini nemzetközi repülőtér környékén. A fedélzeten 167 utas, többek között 57 kanadai állampolgár és kilenc fős személyzet tartózkodott. Az utasok többsége az iráni újévi ünnepeket követően utazott Torontóba, hogy folytassa tanulmányait és munkába álljon. Mindnyájan életüket vesztették. Irán 2020. január 11-én közölte, hogy a katonák „tévedésből” lőttek le a Boeing-et. Ukrajna és Irán között 2020 júliusa óta folynak a tárgyalások a tragédia kivizsgálását valamint a kártérítés kérdését illetően. 2020. december 30-án az IRNA iráni állami hírügynökség bejelentette, hogy az iráni kormány 150 000 dollár kártérítést fizet ki a repülőgép-szerencsétlenség 176 áldozata családtagjainak. Ezt a kijelentést élesen bírálták ukrán és kanadai tisztviselők, mondván, hogy a kártérítés mértékéről nem lehet egyoldalúan dönteni.

Irán izraeli hírportálokat tört fel Kászim Szulejmáni iráni tábornok megölésének második évfordulóján – jelentette a The Times of Israel című angol nyelvű izraeli hírportál hétfőn.
A The Jerusalem Post és a Maariv című lapok internetes oldalait hétfő hajnalban feltörték, és egy iráni propagandavideót helyeztek el rajtuk, amelyen az látható, hogy Iránból rakétatámadást intéznek a Negev-sivatagban, Dimona mellett található izraeli nukleáris létesítmény ellen, és egy rakéta eltalálja a reaktor jellegzetes félgömb alakú makettjét.
A videofelvételen elhelyeztek egy szóbeli fenyegetést is. Angol és héber nyelven azt üzenték: „Ott is közel vagyunk hozzád, ahol nem gondolnád”.
„Tisztában vagyunk azzal, hogy weboldalunkat nyilvánvalóan feltörték, és Izraelt közvetlenül megfenyegették. Dolgozunk a probléma megoldásán” – írta a The Jerusalem Post Twitter-fiókján. A honlap mintegy két órával a feltörés után újra elérhető volt.
Szulejmáni meggyilkolásának évfordulóján Irán egyhetes akciósorozatot jelentett be, melynek meg nem nevezett fő eseményét hétfőre hirdették meg.
Szulejmáni Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis iraki hadnaggyal együtt egy – Donald Trump előző amerikai elnök parancsára végrehajtott – dróncsapásban vesztette életét Bagdadban. Iráni tisztségviselők többször is megígérték, hogy megbosszulják halálát.
Iránt és Irán által támogatott hekkercsoportokat többször is azzal vádolták, hogy az elmúlt hónapokban izraeli internetes oldalakat próbáltak feltörni az Irán és Izrael között évek óta szárazföldön, levegőben, tengeren és kibertérben zajló árnyékháború részeként.
A kiberhadviselés eddigi leghíresebb csatája 2010-ben történt, amikor a feltételezhetően Izrael és az Egyesült Államok által kifejlesztett Stuxnet vírus megfertőzte Irán nukleáris programját, és sorozatos meghibásodásokat okozott az urándúsítást végző centrifugákban.
Kászim Szulejmáni tábornok az al-Kudsz elitkommandó parancsnoka volt, amely a Forradalmi Gárda külföldi műveletekért felelős alakulata. Különösen jelentős szerepet játszott a Teheránnal szövetséges Bassár el-Aszad szíriai elnök hatalmának megőrzésében. Az Egyesült Államok terrorszervezetnek minősítette.
Iránban Szulejmánira nemzeti hősként tekintenek, az Egyesült Államok ugyanakkor olyan terroristának minősítette, aki az iszlám köztársaság közel-keleti katonai beavatkozását testesítette meg.

A Pakisztánnal és Afganisztánnal határos Szisztán és Beludzsisztán tartomány olyan elszegényedett régió, amely gyakori helyszíne a bűnüldöző szervek és fegyveres csoportok közötti támadásoknak, összecsapásoknak.
