A Brit Királyi Haditengerészet nukleáris fegyverekért felelős alezredese, Len Louw ittasan állított be munkahelyére, az Egyesült Államokban kikötött HMS Vigilant tengeralattjáróra.
Az alezredes állapotának betudhatóan egy csomag grillezett csirkét is magával cipelt a fedélzetre – írta a SkyNews. A kollégái értesítették a haditengerészetet az esetről, akik ezután felmentették az alezredest szolgálatai alól.
A nukleáris fegyverekért felelős alezredest az eset után hazaküldték Skóciába, ahol már vizsgálatot is indítottak az ügyében. Az alezredes felelős volt a tengeralattjárón lévő összes fegyverért és szenzorért.

A hetilap, amely saját meghatározása szerint „vállalja jobboldaliságát”, csütörtökön megjelent számában egy hétoldalas szöveget közölt, amelyben a lap magyarázata szerint Daniele Obono radikális baloldali képviselőnő „megtapasztalja az afrikaiak felelősségét a rabszolgaság borzalmaiban”.
A cikket illusztráló rajzokon a fekete bőrű párázsi politikust léncra vert rabszolgaként ábrázolják.
A lap azt állítja, hogy egy olyan fikcióról van szó, amely arra kívánta ráirányítani a figyelmet, hogy az afrikaiak milyen módon vettek részt a 18. században a rabszolgaság megszervezésében. A publikációt elítélte a teljes francia politikai elit a hét végén, Emmanuel Macron államfő pedig szombaton személyesen felhívta Daniele Obonót, hogy támogatásáról biztosítsa, és jelezte, hogy a rasszizmus minden formáját határozottan elítéli – közölte az elnöki hivatal.
Az „ősei és a családja, valamint a köztársaság elleni sértés”, valamint „a személye elleni médiahadjárat” miatt a képviselőnő már szombaton jelezte, hogy gondolkodik a feljelentésen. Pénteken a Twitteren felháborodásának adott hangot a gyalázatos, ostoba és kegyetlen szélsőjobboldali írás miatt.
Pártja, a radikális baloldali Lázadó Franciaország elnöke, Jean-Luc Mélenchon pedig elítélte a képviselőnő elleni „undorító zaklatást”.
Jean Castex miniszterelnök a Twitteren felháborító publikációnak nevezte a hetilap írását, és a teljes kormány támogatásáról biztosította az ellenzéki politikust. „A rasszizmus elleni küzdelem túlmutat a megosztottságainkon” – mondta a kormányfő.
A Valeurs Actuelles korábban azzal a számával keltett botrányt, amelynek címe „Romák, a túladagolás” volt.

Szakadékba zuhant egy grönlandi gleccser vizsgálata közben Konrad Steffen ismert svájci klímakutató, a globális felmelegedés szakértője.
A 68 éves tudósnak a hét végén veszett nyoma Grönland délnyugati részén mérőállomások karbantartása közben. Holttestét nem találták meg, munkáltatója, a Svájci Szövetségi Erdő-, Hó- és Tájkutató Intézet (WSL) azonban szerdán halottnak nyilvánította.
A grönlandi rendőrség arra utaló jeleket talált, hogy a kutató egy hasadékba zuhant a gleccseren Ilulissat település közelében. Feltételezik, hogy egy hóhíd omlott össze alatta.
A svájci kutatóintézet szerint Steffen, aki jég- és óceánügyekben adott tanácsokat az Éghajlatváltozási Kormányközi Testületnek (IPCC), szakterületének egyik legjobbja volt a világon. A klimatológus 1990-ben építette fel Grönlandon a Swiss Camp nevű automatikus klímafigyelő állomást, mert véleménye szerint az ottani körülményekből elég pontosan lehet következtetni az egész Föld időjárásának változásaira.
A baleset a kutatóállomástól mintegy száz méterre történt.
Steffen főleg a sarki hótakaró állapotát vizsgálta munkatársaival.

A sajtójelentések szerint a megbeszélésen a megyei ügyészség munkatársai arról biztosították a kormányzót, hogy a médiában megjelent tények alapján vizsgálatot kezdeményeztek, és büntetőeljárást indítottak az ungvári büntetés-végrehajtó intézmény vezetőivel szemben a vizsgálati fogda rendjének súlyos megsértése miatt. Mint a vádhatóság képviselői közölték, a rendvédelmi szervek vezetőinél felvetették a kérdést a fogda vezetőjének szakmai alkalmasságával kapcsolatban, kezdeményezve a szolgálat alóli felfüggesztését a vizsgálat idejére.
A botrányos ügy előzménye, hogy a napokban több kárpátaljai médiumban is fényképes tudósítás jelent meg arról, hogy az ungvári börtön vizsgálati fogdájának egyik cellájában a kivételezett – az alvilágból jól ismert – őrizetesek luxuséletvitelt folytatnak: vacsorához gazdagon megterített asztal mellett drága ír whiskyt, konyakot és cseh sört isznak vidám okostelefonos szelfizgetés közben. És teszik ezt régóta a büntetés-végrehajtó intézmény vezetőinek – nem ingyenes – jóváhagyásával, miközben az Igazságügyi Minisztérium csak a közelmúltban kezdte el a fizetős VIP-cellák kialakítását az ukrán börtönökben.

Kijev a jövő hét folyamán várja az iráni delegáció Ukrajnába való érkezését az üggyel kapcsolatban.
Az Ukrán Nemzetközi Légitársaság (MAU) Teherán–Kijev járatát 2020. január 8-án lőtték le közvetlenül a felszállás után. A katasztrófában 176 személy vesztette életét, közülük 11-en ukrán állampolgárok. Az áldozatok többsége iráni és kanadai állampolgár volt.
Irán a tragédiát követő negyedik napon ismerte be, hogy az utasszállítót az iráni hadsereg lőtte le, mert ellenséges célpontnak hitték. Az ország továbbra is kiáll azon álláspontja mellett, hogy a katasztrófa emberi hiba miatt történt, s nem az iráni katonai vezetés parancsára.

Li Kjung Dzse keresetében Pak Dzsong Cson észak-koreai vezérkari főnököt is megvádolta. Az ügyvéd szerint a dél-koreai törvények alapján a robbanószerrel elkövetett tulajdon megrongálása és a közrend, illetve nyugalom megsértése legalább hét év börtönnel büntetendő bűncselekmény, amelyre akár halálbüntetés is kiszabható. Ugyanakkor Dél-Koreában 1997 óta nem hajtottak végre halálbüntetést. A kereset kilátásait tovább rontja, hogy a dél-koreai hatóságoknak gyakorlatilag nincs lehetőségük felelősségre vonni Kim Jo Dzsongot és Pak Dzsong Csont.
A Korea-közi viszony a tavaly februári amerikai–észak-koreai csúcstalálkozó kudarca óta feszült. Szakértők szerint Phenjan a konfliktus elmérgesedésével akar nyomást gyakorolni az Egyesült Államokra.

A kormánytagok büntetőjogi felelősségéről kizárólag a miniszteri rangú politikusok ügyeivel foglalkozó, 1999-ben létrehozott francia köztársasági bíróság (CJR) illetékes ítélkezni, ahova több mint nyolcvan panasz érkezett a kormány ellen a járvány kezdete óta.
A főügyész közleményét akkor adta ki, amikor a délelőtt lemondó miniszterelnök átadta hivatalát utódjának, az Emmanuel Macron államfő által kora délután kinevezett Jean Castexnek, aki 2020 április óta a koronavírus-járvány miatt kihirdetett általános karantén fokozatos feloldásáért felelős kormánymegbízott volt.

A büntetőtörvénykönyv környezetpusztításra vonatkozó cikkelye alapján indít vizsgálatot az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat (SZBU) annak kiderítésére, hogy a helyi hatalom tisztségviselőinek intézkedései vagy azok elmulasztása hatással lehetett-e a súlyos nyugat-ukrajnai árvízi helyzet kialakulására – közölte pénteken honlapján az SZBU.
A tájékoztatás szerint a szolgálat műveleti vonalon a növényvilág tömeges pusztítását állapította meg, ami valószínűsíthetően előidézhette a környezeti katasztrófát. Az SZBU már átadta az ügyészségnek a tömeges erdőirtásokról, a nem megfelelő erdőgazdálkodásról és a környezetvédelmi intézkedések foganatosításának a nyugat-ukrajnai megyék meghatalmazott személyei általi elmulasztásáról szóló dokumentumokat – áll a közleményben.
Hivatalos adatok szerint – állította az SZBU – júniusban normán felüli csapadék hullott, aminek következtében állampolgárok vesztették életüket, és csak a Kárpát-melléki területeken 10 ezer lakóház került víz alá, több mint 700 km út és majdnem 200 híd semmisült vagy rongálódott meg, 4 ezer kilométernyi gátat rombolt le az ár. Folyamatban van a katasztrófa okainak vizsgálata, amely annak feltárására irányul, hogy a súlyos következmények kialakulásában közrejátszottak-e a különböző szintű hatalmi szervek tisztségviselőinek intézkedései vagy hanyagsága – tudatta az SZBU.

Június 23-án jelent meg az információ, hogy Ukrajnában megkezdődött a Covid-19 betegeket kezelő orvosok halálának epidemiológiai vizsgálata. Ezt jelentették Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnöknek a koronavírus terjedésének megakadályozásáról szóló hagyományos konferenciabeszélgetés során. A halál okának megállapítása után, az államfő kezdeményezésére, megkezdik biztosítási kifizetéseket családjaik számára. „A Covid-19-nél gyorsabban kell haladnunk a biztosítási kifizetésekkel. És ez nem csak azokra vonatkozik, akik a pandémia elleni küzdelem miatt elvesztették szeretteiket, hanem azokra az orvosokra is, akik feláldozták az egészségüket” – hangsúlyozta Volodimi Zelenszkij.
Makszim Sztepanov egészségügyi miniszter a nyugati megyékben tett látogatása után elmondta, hogy Lemberg (Lviv) megyében napi újabb 300 tesztet végeznek a helyzet megfigyelése és a sorok kialakulásának elkerülése érdekében. Azt is hozzátette, hogy az egészségügyi minisztérium vizsgálja az egészségügyi intézmények gyógyszerellátását és felkészültségét a koronavírus esetleges második hulláma esetére. Ezen kívül a miniszter elmondta, hogy megvitatják a Covid-19-es betegek segélycsomagjai finanszírozásának lehetőségeit.
Miután megállapítják a halál okát, az orvosok családjai, az államfő kezdeményezésére, biztosítási kifizetésekben részesülnek. Május 7-én a Parlament elfogadta „A lakosság fertőző betegségekkel szembeni védelméről” szóló törvény 39. cikkelyének módosításáról törvényt (az egészségügyi dolgozók és egyéb munkavállalók jogainak kiegészítő garanciáiról). Ennek a dokumentumnak megfelelően azok az orvosok, akik szakmai feladataik során fertőződtek meg koronavírussal, és ennek következtében 1 éven belül fogyatékossági csoportba sorolták be őket, 300 létminimum összegű, jelenleg ez 608 ezer UAH, támogatásban részesülnek. Koronavírus okozta halál esetén az egészségügyi dolgozó halála családja 750 létminimum összegű, jelenleg ez 1 520 250 UAH, támogatást kap.

Viktor Babariko ellenzéki politikus ellen indtott vizsgálatot Fehéroroszországban a rendőrség – írja az MTI a független Tut.by fehérorosz hírportálra hivatkozva.
A portál értesülései szerint Babariko az augusztus 9-én tartandó elnökválasztáson Aljakszandr Lukasenka fehérorosz elnök kihívójaként akar indulni. A nap folyamán egy az üzletemberrel kapcsolatba hozható banknál és több vállalatnál is házkutatást tartottak. Az ellenzéki politikus szerint a nyomozók így próbálnak nyomást gyakorolni rá.
A Tut.by úgy tudja, a többi között a Gazprom orosz gázipari vállalat Belgazprombank nevű leányvállalatánál razziáztak, amelyet korábban Babariko vezetett. A fehérorosz hatóságok szerint adócsalás és pénzmosás gyanújával indítottak bűnügyi nyomozást a bank mostani és korábbi munkatársai ellen.
Babariko a YouTube videomegosztó portálon támogatóinak címzett üzenetében közölte, hogy a razziák „világossá tették, hogy a jelenlegi vezetés kész minden eszközzel meghiúsítani a tisztességes választásokat”. Hírügynökségi értesülések szerint a rendőrség Lukasenka több potenciális kihívójával szemben intézkedett.
Több ismert politikust őrizetbe vettek. A koronavírus-járvány ellenére augusztus 9-én elnökválasztást tartanak Fehéroroszországban. Eddig egy ellenzéki jelöltet sem regisztráltak. Szakértők az országot 1994 óta irányító Lukasenka győzelmére számítanak.
A 65 éves politikus újraindul a tisztségért, amelyet hatodszor nyerhet el. Az előző, 2015-ös elnökválasztáson a szavazatok 83,5 százalékát sikerült megszereznie a fehérorosz választási bizottság szerint. Az Európai Biztonsági és Együttműködési Szervezet (EBESZ) választási megfigyelői a korábbi négy elnökválasztás eredményét csalásra és megfélemlítésekre hivatkozva nem ismerték el.
