A fiatal nőt kilenc év börtönbüntetésre ítélték.
Nagy-Britanniában egy 18 éves anya hat napra magára hagyta a lakásban másfél éves kislányát, ő pedig elment megünnepelni a saját születésnapját. A gyerek éhenhalt. A hírt a BBC közölte.
Az eset még 2019-ben történt, az „édesanya” épp betöltötte a 18. életévét, gyereke pedig egy éves és nyolc hónapos volt.
A nő mikor hazaért, felhívta a mentőszolgálatot, s közölte, hogy gyermeke nem lélegzik. Az orvosok megállapították, hogy a kislány halálát éhség, influenza, kiszáradás és pelenkakiütés okozta. Az anya azt állította a rendőrségnek, hogy egész végig a gyerekével volt, s vitte magával londoni útjára is, azonban a térfigyelő kamerák ennek az ellenkezőjét mutatták.
Az ügyben indított eljárást most fejezték be, a nő kilenc év szabadságvesztést kapott.

A védelmi minisztérium közleménye szerint egy alkalmazottjuk jelezte korábban, hogy elvesztette a kb. 50 oldalas dokumentumokat, melyeket Kent megyében, egy buszmegálló mögötti halomban találtak meg még kedden, a megtaláló értesítette a BBC-t, akik beszámoltak az esetről.
A dokumentumok a HMS Defender rombolóról és annak a Krím-félsziget melletti elhaladásáról szólnak. Szerdán a hadihajó ukrán vizeken hajózott, az orosz haditengerészet a moszkvai védelmi minisztérium szerint húsz repülővel és két hajóval követte azt és figyelmeztetőlövéseket is leadtak, ezt a brit kormány tagadta.
A dokumentumok nagy része egy viszonylag alacsony szintű titkosítást kapott. A Defender mozgása mellett a papírokban arról az amerikai kérésről is szó esik, miszerint különleges erőik egy részét hagyják Afganisztánban, miután kivonulnak az amerikai csapatok.

Az Egyesült Királyság és Franciaország egyaránt két haditengerészeti járőrhajót küldött a helyszínre a helyzet megfigyelésére, de a hadihajók nem léptek közbe, és a sziget kikötőjéhez reggel felvonult többtucatnyi francia halászhajó délután távozott.
A normandiai partoktól 22 kilométerre fekvő, széles körű önigazgatási jogkörökkel bíró, 108 ezer lakosú Jersey nem része az Egyesült Királyságnak, de a brit korona függő területei közé tartozik.
Ez az első komoly határincidens a Brexit óta
A brit EU-tagság tavaly januári megszűnése (Brexit) óta ez volt az első olyan szabályértelmezési viszály az Egyesült Királyság és valamely uniós tagállam között, amelyben az érintett országok fegyveres erői is szerepet kaptak, bár London és Párizs egyaránt nyomatékkal hangsúlyozta, hogy a kivezényelt két-két hadihajó kizárólag járőrözési és megfigyelői feladattal érkezett a helyszínre.
Az ügy előzményeként Jersey önkormányzata az Egyesült Királyság és az Európai Unió kereskedelmi és együttműködési megállapodására (TCA) hivatkozva a múlt héten új halászati engedélyezési rendszert vezetett be.
Ennek alapján a francia halászhajók akkor kaphatnak halászati engedélyt a térségben, ha igazolni tudják, hogy a múltban is tevékenykedtek a Jersey körüli vizeken.
A francia hatóságok álláspontja szerint azonban Jersey kormányzata a TCA-szabályozáson túlmenő technikai követelésekkel is előállt, és erről előzetesen nem konzultált az EU-val, így a rendelkezés a TCA alapján érvénytelen.
Franciaország elvághatja a szigetek áramellátását
Annick Girardin, a francia kormány tengerészeti ügyekért felelős minisztere az éleződő vitára reagálva a minap alig burkolt utalást tett arra, hogy Franciaország elvághatja Jersey áramellátását.
Jersey három tengeralatti kábelen Franciaországtól kapja áramszükségletének 95 százalékát.
Csütörtökön hatvan francia halászhajó vonult fel Jersey fővárosa és legnagyobb kikötője, Saint Helier tengeri bejáratához, de a kikötőt nem torlaszolták el. A tiltakozó akcióval egy időben Jersey illetékesei és a francia hatóságok tárgyalásokat kezdtek a helyzet megoldására.
A hadihajók elővigyázatosságból mentek a térségbe
Ian Gorst, Jersey önkormányzatának külügyekért felelős minisztere pozitívnak nevezte a megbeszélést, a normandiai halászok szakmai érdekvédelmi szervezetének szóvivője ugyanakkor a BBC rádió idézete szerint azt mondta, hogy a tárgyaláson semmit nem sikerült elérni.
A francia illetékes szerint, ha továbbra sem születik megoldás, francia részről ellenlépések várhatók.
A Downing Street tájékoztatása szerint Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök csütörtökön telefonon beszélt John Le Fondré szenátorral, Jersey önkormányzatának vezető miniszterével és biztosította őt arról, hogy Jersey számíthat London teljes támogatására.
A halászat volt a legélesebb téma a Brexit-tárgyalásoknál
Johnson közölte azt is, hogy a brit királyi haditengerészet két járőrhajója elővigyázatossági okokból, megfigyelési feladattal továbbra is a helyszínen marad. London a Severn és a Tamar nevű járőrhajókat vezényelte a dél-angliai Portsmouth kikötőjéből Jersey partjaihoz.
Ennek a járőrhajó-osztálynak a tagjai 90,5 méter hosszúak, fedélzeti fegyvereik között tüzérségi és rövid hatótávolságú légvédelmi eszközök vannak. Az Egyesült Királyság és az Európai Unió jövőbeni kapcsolatrendszerének feltételeiről tartott tavalyi tárgyalássorozaton az egyik leghevesebb vita London és az EU között éppen a halászat szabályozásának kérdéséről folyt, annak ellenére is, hogy a halászati ágazat a brit és az uniós hazai összterméknek (GDP) egyaránt alig néhány tized százalékát adja.

Botrány tört ki a brit postán, az állami szolgáltatás 2000 és 2014 között 736 postást jelentett fel csalás és lopás miatt, miután a Fujitsu által készített Horizon könyvelőrendszere szerint pénz tulajdonítottak el. Ugyan az 1999-es bevezetését követően gyorsan feltűnt, hogy baj van az alkalmazással, időnként biztosan rosszul számol, azonban ezt az illetékesek eltitkolták, hagyták százával meghurcolni az ártatlan postásokat.
A Horizon sok esetben ráadásul nem is keveset tévedett, egy postás azután követett el öngyilkosságot, hogy a szoftver szerint közel 100 ezer fontot veszített el érthetetlen módon. Pár hónappal később az utódján is hiányokat kezdtek számonkérni. Volt olyan, aki terhesen került börtönbe, más a saját maga próbálta kifizetni a nem létező hiányt, noha ehhez jelzáloghitelt kellett felvennie az otthonára.
Közel két évtizednyi heves tagadás után a posta elismerte a hibát, állítása szerint különösen a Horizon használatának első évtizedében voltak súlyos gondok a rendszerrel.
Decemberben hat, most pedig további harminckilenc lopás miatt bűnösnek talált postás ítéletét semmisítette meg az eljáró bíróság, ám ezzel még nem ért véget az ítéletek utólagos korrekciója. A posta 2019-ben 555 személynek fizetett kártérítést a Horizon hibái miatt, az utána felállított kárrendező rendszerében pedig már 2400-nál is többen álltak elő kártérítési igénnyel.
A posta megkezdte a Horizon kivezetését, egy felhőalapú rendszerre fogja lecserélni azt.

A brit kormány rendelete alapján péntektől India is felkerült azoknak az országoknak a listájára, amelyekből külföldi állampolgárok nem utazhatnak be Angliába. A tilalom célja az Indiában rendkívül gyorsan terjedő koronavírus-variáns tömeges behurcolásának megakadályozása.
Az intézkedés értelmében pénteken brit idő szerint hajnali 4 órától – közép-európai idő szerint 5 órától – nem léphetnek be Angliába azok a külföldiek, akik közvetlenül Indiából érkeznének, vagy az érkezésük előtti tíz napban Indiában jártak. Ez az előírás a magyar állampolgárokra is vonatkozik. A tilalom egyelőre Angliára terjed ki, de várhatóan az Egyesült Királyság többi országrészének hatóságai is érvényesítik majd.
A brit és az ír állampolgárok, illetve a Nagy-Britanniában letelepedési engedéllyel élő külföldiek beutazhatnak, de érkezésük után a brit kormány által kijelölt, őrzött szállodák valamelyikében kell tölteniük a kötelező tíznapos karantént. Azoknak, akik Nagy-Britanniában élnek és Indiából, illetve a tilalmi listán szereplő más országokból térnek haza, Londonban csak a Heathrow, a Gatwick és a City repülőterekre, illetve Birmingham és Farnborough légikikötőibe érkezhetnek, és indulásuk előtt le kell foglalniuk nagy-britanniai szálláshelyüket. E karantén költsége minden egyes beutazó esetében 1750 font, és ezt az utasoknak kell fizetniük. Ez az összeg a szállásköltséget, a közlekedést és a második, illetve a nyolcadik napon kötelezően elvégzendő koronavírus-szűrések díját tartalmazza.
Azok, akik nem szolgálnak pontos információval a brit hatóságoknak arról, hogy az angliai érkezésük előtti tíz napban mely országokban jártak, tíz évig terjedő szabadságvesztéssel vagy tízezer font pénzbírsággal – vagy egyidejűleg mindkét büntetéssel – sújthatók.
A brit kormány a héten döntött arról, hogy Indiát is felveszi a félhivatalosan vörös listának is nevezett beutazási tilalmi listára, azzal az indokkal, hogy Indiában április eleje óta folyamatosan romlik a járványhelyzet, és rendkívül gyorsan terjed az ott felbukkant koronavírus-változat. A rendeletet kiadó brit közlekedési minisztérium adatai szerint egyetlen hét alatt csaknem megkétszereződött a szűrővizsgálatokkal azonosított új fertőződések száma Indiában, és százezer lakosonként immár 111 új koronavírus-fertőződés történik hetente. A szaktárca szerint az indiai koronavírus-járvány kezdete óta még nem mértek ilyen magas fertőzöttségi rátát Indiában. A brit kormány vörös listáján negyven ország szerepel, de a listára pénteken felkerült India messze a legnagyobb közülük. Európai ország nincs ezen a listán, de az angliai beutazási tilalom azokra az európaiakra is vonatkozik, akik a tervezett érkezésük előtti tíz napban Indiában vagy a listán szereplő többi országban jártak.
Boris Johnson brit miniszterelnök kereskedelmi tárgyalások céljából a napokban Indiába utazott volna, de látogatását a gyorsan romló indiai járványhelyzet miatt lemondták.

A brit parlament március 25-én, csütörtökön vitatja meg azt a törvényt, amely bírság kiszabását írná elő külföldi nyaralásért a karantén idején. A briteknek közel 7 ezer dolláros bírsággal sújtanák a korlátozások megszegése miatt, közölte a BBC, számolt be az RBK-Ukrajina. Ha a brit képviselők támogatják a dokumentumot, az már a jövő héten hatályba lépne.
A külföldi utazások jelenleg egy külön szabály szerint tilosak, de hatályuk hétfőn lejár. Ezért a Parlament támogatásával a jövő héttől Nagy-Britannia területének elhagyására vonatkozó tilalmat külön törvény szabályozná, amely még pénzbírságot is előírna. Jelenleg a külföldre utazás okai lehetnek: munkavégzés, önkéntesség, oktatás, orvosi szükségletek, valamint esküvőn vagy temetésen való részvétel.
Matt Hancock, brit egészségügyi miniszter szerint a külföldi utak korlátozására van szükség, hogy megakadályozzák az új törzsek és a koronavírus mutációinak behozatalát, amelyek veszélyeztethetik az oltási programot az országban.
A brit kormány karanténkorlátozások enyhítését célzó ütemterve szerint a brit lakosok legkorábban május 17-én mehetnek külföldre nyaralni, azonban a koronavírus harmadik hulláma Európában veszélyezteti ezt a tervet.

Egy antirasszista csoport jelentése szerint az Instagram lett a szélsőjobboldali csoportokba tartozó fiatalok központja, ugyanis a neonáci csoportok ezen a platformon toboroznak új tagokat. Az ajánlások által vezérelt platform és a vizuális médiára összpontosító rendszer ideális a propaganda terjesztésére – jelezte a Hope Not Hate (HNH) éves értékelésében.
A HNH két, az Egyesült Királyságban aktív szélsőjobboldali csoportot azonosított – a British Hand és a National Partisan Movement szervezeteket –, amelyek a Facebook tulajdonában lévő Instagramot használták tagok toborzásához, miközben más üzenetküldő alkalmazásokat, például Telegramot is használtak. A The British Hand három tizenéves állítólagos tagja ellen terrorizmus vádjával indult bírósági eljárás.
Nick Lowles, a Hope Not Hate vezérigazgatója elmondta, továbbra is kiemelt figyelemmel kell követni az olyan platformokat, mint az Instagram és a Telegram, ugyanis a fiatal neonácik legjelentősebb toborzási terepe az Instagram volt, éppen ezért aggasztóak a platform algoritmusának ajánlásai, mely olyan gyermekvédelmi kérdéseket vet fel, amelyek sürgős beavatkozást igényelnek a közösségi médiában.
A HNH jelentése megállapította, hogy a koronavírus-járvány felgyorsította a brit szélsőjobb szélsőséges lépéseit azzal, hogy az utcákról az internetre vonultak. A csoport szerint az idősebb, hagyományos csoportokat egy fiatalabb, digitális generáció hagyta hátra, akik a technológiát kihasználva ideológiájukat hirdetik játékokkal, közösségi médiás csevegésekkel, online filmklubokkal és akár otthoni oktatással is.
A koronavírus miatti lezárások igen komoly hatást gyakorolnak társadalmunk minden részére, nincs ez másképp a szélsőjobboldali csoportokkal sem, s mivel a hagyományos szervezetek mondhatni hanyatlásban vannak, a lezárás csak tovább fokozta inaktivitásukat.
A brit szélsőjobboldal jelenleg digitálisan koordinált és tökéletesen tükrözi az online kultúrát, eközben a hagyományos struktúrák utat engedtek a közösségi média platformjainak, az influenszereknek és a “polgári újságíróknak”, akik megteremtik társaik között a radikalizációt egy olyan globális közösség számára, mely hajlandó időt és energiát belefektetni a szervezet működésébe.
A kialakulóban lévő új szervezetek és kollektívák megértik, hogyan kell működni ebben a decentralizált, önálló környezetben, éppen ezért nem meglepő, hogy az elmúlt évben rengeteg olyan szélsőjobboldali terrorista megmozdulást láthattunk, melyek elkövetői tizenéves fiatalok voltak.
A Facebook szóvivője is megszólalt az ügyben, úgy fogalmazott, nem akarnak gyűlöletet a platformon, ezért számos fiókot eltávolítottak, melyek a British Hand és a National Partisan Movement szervezetekhez köthetők. A szóvivő elmondása szerint tavaly közel egymillió gyűlöletkeltő szervezetekhez köthető tartalmat távolítottak el az Instagramról, céljuk pedig, hogy mihamarabb megtalálják a kártékony tartalmakat és eltávolítsák azokat.

A Metro értesülései szerint összesen 32 évre ítélte a bíróság a 29 éves amerikai származású Paige Poole-t és partnerét, a 44 éves angol családapa Ross Kingslandet.
A pár egy extrém fétisekre szakosodó weboldalon ismerekedett meg egymással, és úgy írták le a kapcsolatukat, hogy ugyanolyan sötét szívűek mindketten, mint a másik. Poole és Kingsland több száz üzenetet váltott, amelyekben többször is kifejtették, hogy azt kívánják, bárcsak lennének közös gyerekeit, akiket aztán együtt bántalmazhatnának.
Végül Poole volt az, aki több alkalommal is bántalmazta a rábízott 1 éves gyermeket, amit videón rögzített. Több felvételen is a nevetését lehet hallani, ahogy véghezviszi a beteges cselekedeteit. A nő rendszeresen részletesen leírta a férfinak, hogy miket tett, ő pedig erre lelkesen “Sötét Angyalomnak” nevezte partnerét.
Kinsgland ellen akkor kezdtek el nyomozni, amikor a férfi felvette a kapcsolatot egy önmagát szintén pedofilnak kiadó rendőrrel egy csoportos csetben.
A hatóságok végül tavaly tartóztatták le, miután mepróbált megszervezni egy találkozót, amin egy 8 és egy 12 éves gyermek bántalmazását akarta véghezvinni. Akkor az eseményre nem került sor a lezárások miatt, ami annyira bosszantotta a férfit, hogy megosztott egy videót, amin egy nő egy gyermekkel erőszakoskodik.
Kingsland őrizetbe vétele után Poole megjelent partnere otthonánál Exeterben, ahol először úgy tett, mintha sokkolná a férfi viselkedése, de amikor a rendőrség lefoglalta a telefonját, megtalálták a pár egymással váltott üzeneteit és a felvételeket.
Poole a tárgyaláson bűnösnek vallotta magát tizenegyrendbeli kiskorú sérelmére elkövetett szexuális erőszak, kiskorú sérelmére elkövetett támadásra való összeesküvés és kiskorúról készült pornográf felvételek készítése és megosztása miatt, valamint azt is bevallotta, hogy egy második gyermek szexuális erőszakját is eltervezték.
Kingsland több vádpontban is bűnösnek vallotta magát annak ellenére, hogy nem találtak arra bizonyítékot, hogy fizikailag részt vett volna kiskorú ellen elkövetett erőszakban.
