Sikerült egy terrortámadást megakadályozni a Krím székvárosának számító Szimferopol piacán, a merénylet előkészítésével vádolt öt orosz állampolgárt őrizetbe vették – tudatta szerdán az orosz Szövetségi Biztonsági Szolgálat (FSZB).
A közlemény szerint az elfogott személyek saját készítésű pokolgép felrobbantására készültek. Az FSZB azzal is megvádolta őket, hogy terrorista és szélsőséges propagandatevékenységet folytattak az interneten.
A szolgálat szerint házilag előállított robbanószerkezeteket, lőfegyvereket, lőszert és olyan kommunikációs eszközöket foglaltak le tőlük, amelyek előkészületben lévő bűncselekményekre és a Délkelet-Ukrajnában harcoló ukrán radikálisokkal való kapcsolattartásra vonatkozó adatokat tartalmaztak.

Terrorista merénylet történt a texasi Corpus Christi városban lévő katonai támaszponton – jelentette be csütörtökön este a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI).
A lövöldözést helyi idő szerint csütörtök délelőtt történt, három amerikai katona meghalt. Az első jelentések arról szóltak, hogy többen megsebesültek, de később kiderült, hogy a merényletnek egyetlen sebesültje van, s az állapota kielégítő.
Délutáni sajtókonferenciáján Leah Greeves, az FBI tisztségviselője közölte: az eddigi jelek és bizonyítékok arra mutatnak, hogy terrorista akció volt, s bár az elkövetőt azonnal agyonlőtték, egy másik elkövető vagy cinkostárs még szabadlábon lehet, valahol a városban. Részleteket nem közölt az esetről és az elkövető kilétéről, mint ahogyan arra sem kívánt kitérni, hogy milyen jelek erősítik a feltételezést, hogy a lövöldözés „terrorizmussal összefüggő” cselekedet volt.
Greeves nyugalomra és óvatosságra is intette a helybélieket.
Az amerikai kommentárok emlékeztettek rá, hogy tavaly decemberben egy floridai katonai támaszponton volt lövöldözés. Akkor a szaúdi királyi légierő amerikai továbbképzésen lévő egyik fiatal tisztje lövöldözött. Az elkövetőt agyonlőtték, s a szövetségi igazságügyi minisztérium az FBI-jal közösen vizsgálatot indított az ügyben, együttműködve a szaúdi hatóságokkal is. Washingtonban a napokban jelentették be, hogy a floridai merénylet elkövetője az al-Kaida nevű terrorszervezettel állt szoros kapcsolatban és a merényletet is a terrorszervezettel egyeztetve, hosszas előkészítés után követte el.
