Rátámadt tulajdonosára, majd szétmarcangolta őt egy magánállatkertben tartott oroszlán Szlovákiában. A magánállatkertben, amely a nyilvánosság számára teljesen nyitott, oroszlánok és tigrisek mellett más egzotikus állatokat is tartanak.
Az állatkert dolgozóitól azután érkezett a riasztás, hogy a Zsolna közelében, Ókerten (Oskerda) található állatkert tulajdonosa bement az oroszlánfuttatóba, hogy megetesse az állatokat, de sok idő elteltével sem jött ki onnan – tájékoztatott a szlovák rendőrség a Facebook-oldalán.

A helyszínt átkutatva a rendőrök először csak az oroszlán áldozatául esett férfi lábát találták meg a ragadozók kifutójában, majd később más testrészeire is rábukkantak. A mentőknek ezután az állatkert dolgozói és állatorvosok segítettek, hogy biztonságosan hozzáférjenek az áldozathoz, ám a helyi média közlése szerint a férfi ekkor már nem volt életben.
Az észak-szlovákiai magánállatkertben, amely a nyilvánosság számára teljesen nyitott, oroszlánok és tigrisek mellett más egzotikus állatokat is tartanak.

Lelőttek szerdán este egy amerikai állatkertben egy ritka maláj tigrist, amely megragadta egy takarító rácson át bedugott karját, és azt nem is akarta elengedni.
Amerikai hírportálok beszámolói szerint a takarító, egy külsős cég alkalmazottja engedély nélkül, egy külső kerítést megkerülve ment oda a floridai Naples-ben lévő állatkert egyetlen tigriséhez, amely beleharapott a karjába, húzta befelé a kifutóba, és a kiérkező rendőrök minden erőfeszítése ellenére sem engedte el. Egy seriffhelyettes végül lelőtte a nagymacskát, hogy kiszabadítsa a fiatal férfit. Feltételezések szerint a takarító, akit súlyos sérüléssel szállították kórházba mentőhelikopterrel, meg akarta simogatni vagy etetni a ragadozót.
A naples-i állatkert hangsúlyozta, hogy a külsős takarítóknak nincs felhatalmazásuk odamenni az állatkarámokhoz, azok takarítása nem rájuk tartozik.
Az Eko nevű nyolcéves tigris 2020 elején került a floridai állatkertbe egy vadon élő tigrisek megmentésére irányuló akció keretében. Érkezésekor az állatot „fajának nagyszerű nagyköveteként” méltatták.
A maláj tigrist kihalás fenyegeti, a Természetvédelmi Világalap (WWF) szerint már kevesebb mint 200 egyed él belőle a vadonban.

Oroszlán támadt egy gondozóra az északnyugat-németországi Osnabrück állatkertjében, közölte a rendőrség vasárnap.
A 25 éves nő megsérült, de el tudott menekülni. Elővigyázatosságból kórházba vitték, de a közlemény szerint sebei nem életveszélyesek, állapota nem súlyosbodik.
A gondozó a karám területén dolgozott a támadás idején, amelyet „szerencsétlen munkahelyi balesetként” említettek.
Az állatkert szerint valószínűleg nyitva maradt a karám két részét elválasztó tolóajtók egyike. Amikor délelőtt a gondozó az elülső részben dolgozott, és az öt oroszlán a külső kifutóban tartózkodott, minden ajtónak zárva kellett volna lennie.
„A támadás a hátán sebezte meg a nőt. Vissza tudott jutni a gondozói átjáróhoz, így biztonságba került, kollégái azonnal a segítségére siettek. Mentővel vitték kórházba” – idézte egy közlemény Andreas Wulftangét, az állatkert afrikai oroszlánokért felelős zoológiai vezetőjét.
„Egyelőre kolléganőnk és mi is sokkhatás alatt állunk. A következő napokban, nyugalmas körülmények között beszéljük meg az eseményeket és a baleset okait” – mondta a zoológus.
A napsütéses vasárnap délelőtt egyetlen látogató sem volt, mivel a koronavírus-járvány miatt az állatkert zárva tart.
Nagyjából négy évvel ezelőtt két medve kitörése okozott riadalmat, a jegesmedve-barnamedve keverék Tipset akkor le kellett lőni. 2017 márciusának azon a szombat délutánján mintegy négyezer látogató volt az állatkertben.

A tragédia a Mena város állatkertjében történt a pénteken. A menai állatkert tigriseken kívül oroszlánokat, pumákat, leopárdokat és medvéket is tart. Zinajda Makszimenko, az állatkert igazgatója szerint nem tudni, hogy a több mint 10 éve az intézményben dolgozó munkatársuk miért ment be egyedül a tigrisketrecbe.
A rendőrség vizsgálatot indított a biztonsági előírások megszegése miatt.
