A BBC azt írja, a férfi szabotálta az oltási rendszert, és pillanatragasztóval zárta le az oltóközpont ajtaját, ez azonban nem annyira tetszett a hatóságoknak, mivel ezzel 504 ember oltását akadályozta meg.
Az 53 éves Hayden Brown úgy gondolta, remek ötlet, ha pillanatragasztót fecskendez az oltóközpont ajtajának kulcslyukába, a célt viszont elérte, és senki se tudott bejutni az ajtón, hogy beoltassa magát. A férfi végül bíróság előtt ismerte be tettét, és elismerte a bűncselekményt, valamint a közveszély okozását is.
Miután korábban már két kísértetiesen hasonló eset is történt az oltóközpontban, a dolgozók felszereltettek egy kamerát, hátha elcsípik a vicces kedvű bűnözőt. Sikerrel is jártak, és amikor a férfit keresték a pillanatragasztós történet miatt, könnyű dolguk volt, hiszen a kamera mindent felvett.
A helyi felügyelő elmondta, az oltásra érkező 504 ember szinte kivétel nélkül idős volt, ezért még rosszabbkor történt meg az ízléstelen tréfa, hiszen sokan kifejezetten azért érkeztek volna az oltóközpontba, hogy felvegyék a koronavírus elleni védőoltást. Egy kis ráadás: a férfi annyira megijedt, hogy azt is beismerte a rendőröknek, hogy marihuána is volt nála – és a lakásában is.

Hat fiatalt kórházba kellett szállítani az amerikai Colorado állam Aurora városának egyik főiskolája közelében hétfőn történt lövöldözés nyomán – közölte a város rendőrfőnöke újságírókkal.
Vanessa Wilson tájékoztatása szerint a lövéseket egy kocsiból adták le. A bűncselekmény elkövetése feltételezhetően bandákhoz köthető, a hatóságok több gyanúsított ellen adtak ki körözést. Mint arról beszámolt, a 14 és 18 év közötti sebesültek mind diákok voltak. Hozzátette, hogy hamarosan felépülnek nem életveszélyes sérüléseikből, bár az egyik fiatalt meg kellett műteni.
Wilson közölte azt is, hogy különböző kaliberű lövedékeket találtak a helyszínen, ami arra utal, hogy több fegyverből adtak le lövéseket. A lövöldözés helyi idő szerint délután egy órakor történt egy parkban, nem messze a főiskolától. A történtek részletei egyelőre homályosak. Helyi lakosok szerint a lövéseket több járműből is leadhatták, illetve gyalog közlekedő gyanúsítottak is részt vehettek a lövöldözésben. A KCNC-TV denveri székhelyű televízió Henry Martinez helyi lakosra hivatkozva mintegy ötven lövésről számolt be.
A Denvertől keletre található 386 ezer lakosú Aurorában történt az utóbbi idők egyik legvéresebb ámokfutása. 2012. július 20-án a város egyik mozijában egy Batman-film éjféli premierjén egy 27 éves férfi 12 embert lelőtt, 70-et pedig megsebesített.

Két 13 éves lányt őrizetbe vettek, miután azzal fenyegetőztek, hogy megölik diáktársaikat egy iskolai bálon, miután a közösségi médiában elterjedt egy lista azokról a tanulókról, akiket célba akartak venni – közölték a hatóságok.

Sárcsuszamlásokat és villámárvizeket okozott az Észak-Kaliforniában tomboló vihar, amely vasárnap csapott le San Franciscóra és környékére. A szél letépte az elektromos vezetékeket, a kidőlt oszlopok autókat törtek szét, a lakókat evakuálni fogják. Az amerikai államban nem is olyan régen még az erdőtüzek okoztak súlyos természeti károkat.
Az erős vihar sárcsuszamlásokat váltott ki és elektromos vezetékeket szakított le, miközben a szél San Franciscót is elérte. Az áradást hozó eső és erős szél kísérte időjárási jelenség egy légköri folyó, amely a Csendes-óceán felől behúzódó hosszú és széles nedvességtömeg, amely az előrejelzések szerint a következő napokban dél felé fog haladni. Helyenként akár 25 centiméternyi eső hullhat a nyugati partvidéken – mondta Marc Chenard meteorológus a nemzeti meteorológiai szolgálattól.
A San Franciscó-i öböl térségéből áradásokat jelentettek, Berkeley-ben utcákat zártak le. Vasárnap reggel a San Franciscótól északra fekvő Tamalpais-hegyen az előző 12 óra alatt több mint 15 centiméternyi csapadék hullott – közölte a meteorológiai szolgálat a Twitteren.
Mintegy 240 kilométerrel északabbra a kaliforniai autópálya-rendőrség lezárta a 70-es állami utat Butte megyében a sárcsuszamlások miatt. A heves időjárási csapás Kalifornia történetének legforgalmasabb erdőtűzszezonját követi, és fokozza a hirtelen áradások veszélyét. A régió nagy részén súlyos, szélsőséges vagy kivételes szárazság uralkodik az amerikai szárazságfigyelő intézet szerint. A leégett területeken a víz gyorsabban elfolyik, így ott a legnagyobb a hirtelen áradások, a villámárvizek kockázata – mondta Chenard.
A San Franciscótól északkeletre, a Sierra Nevada hegységben található, rögös hegységben keletkezett tűz – az állam történelmének második legnagyobb erdőtüze – által letarolt 230 670 hektárnyi terület egyes részeiről már többször jelentettek sárcsuszamlásokat – tette hozzá Chenard.
Az óránkénti 97 kilométert meghaladó széllökések San Franciscóban és Sacramento környékén áramkimaradásokat idéztek elő. A Twitter közösségi oldalra a lakosok által feltett fényképeken az volt látható, hogy A kidőlt közműpóznák autókat törtek össze és elzárták az utakat. A térségben akár 13 centiméternyi eső is lehet.
Egyes helyeken a helyi hatóságok evakuálásra szólítják fel lakosokat. Azt írták ha veszélyben érzi magukat, ne tétovázzanak. Ha lekésték a megfelelő menekülési pillanatot, menjenek magasabban fekvő területre.
Sacramentóban homokzsákokat osztogattak és evakuációs központokat nyitottak. A helyi katasztrófavédelmi hivatal óvatosságra intette a lakosokat. Chenard szerint a magasabban fekvő területeken havazás várható. A ciklon hétfőn fokozatosan dél felé mozdul el Közép-Kalifornia felé.

Múlt hét szerdán az al-Kaida arab-félszigeti mozgalma közzétett egy videót, amelyben figyelmeztette az amerikaiakat, hogy készüljenek fel a szeptember 11-eihez hasonló volumenű terrortámadásra.
Oszama bin Laden annak idején az Iszlám Államot erős lóhoz hasonlította, amikor azt mondta, az emberek, ha látnak egy erős és egy gyenge lovat, az erőset fogják választani. Most utódai, ahogy a Frontpage Mag fogalmaz, megérezték, hogy a Joe Biden vezette Egyesült Államok egy „igen gyenge ló”, és egy múlt szerdai videóban a szeptember 11-ei merényleteknél is pusztítóbb terrortámadással fenyegették az amerikaiakat.
A videó az „Üzenet az amerikai népnek: még nem tanultátok meg a leckét” címet viseli, és egy, korábban a Guantánamo fogolytáborban fogva tartott terrorista, Ibrahim al-Qousi látható benne. Al-Qousi szerint „a legnagyobb veszteség, amelyet Amerika elszenvedett – az anyag, és emberi veszteségek mellett – az az ország megítélésén és hírnevén esett csorba”. Vagyis Amerika nem mondható már a világ legerősebb nagyhatalmának, ami a cikk szerzője, Robert Spencer szerint nagyban Joe Biden elnökségének köszönhető.
A terrorista kijelenti, hogy a tálibok győzelme azért nagyszerű Afganisztánban, mert megértették a vallás lényegét, és visszaállították az iszlám kalifátust, amely a saría törvénye alapján működik.
Al-Qousi szerint Biden mégsem értette meg a leckét, amikor kijelentette: „húsz év után megértettük a leckét, még ha a nehezebb úton is.” Azt mondja ugyanis „ha az USA elnöke hibaként csupán arra gondol, hogy afganisztáni beavatkozásuk, amely vereséghez vezetett, stratégiailag hibás lépés volt, az azt jelenti, hogy nem tanulták meg, de még csak meg sem értették a leckét”.
Azt is hozzáteszi, hogy aki azt gondolja, Amerika elmenekülhet a dzsihád elől, ha elhagyja Afganisztánt, az naiv. Bár a videóban Al-Qousi ezt nem említi, a Frontpage Mag szerzője felhívja a figyelmet Bin Laden egy 2002-es levelére, amelyben azt írja az amerikaiaknak: „Az első dolog, amire hívunk titeket, az az Iszlám.” Ameddig Amerika nem tesz eleget a hívásnak, addig a dzsihád nem ér véget, írja az al-Kaida alapítója.
A szerdai videóban pedig ezt üzeni Al-Qousi: „Addig nem vagytok biztonságban, ameddig nem értitek meg a leckét, és ameddig nem változtattok azon, ami miatt a 2001-es támadás is történt (…) Amerikaiak, addig nem vagytok biztonságban, amíg harcoltok az Iszlám ellen.”
Biden pedig mindeközben migrációt támogató politikájával még egy akadályt is elgördített a terroristák elől.
„Amerikaiak, tudjatok róla, hogy a mudzsáhidok számára ma már nincsenek határok, és a világ bármely pontjáról odamehetnek (Amerikába), hogy véghez vigyék, amit akarnak. Valójában a föld felszínén élő összes muszlim vállalkozó kedvű mudzsáhid”, üzeni az egykori guantánamói fogoly.
Végül megfenyegette az amerikaiakat, hogy a dzsihád következő mészárlása nem a 9/11-es támadás pontos utánzata lesz, de lehet, hogy még sokkal fájdalmasabb. „Addig nem lesz béke, amíg nem álltunk bosszút, csak úgy, mint szeptember 11-én, Allah akaratából”, fejezi be.

Több halálos áldozata is van az Amtrak vonat kisiklásának Montanában, ahol rengeteg mentő, tűzoltó és rendőr jelent meg a helyszínen.
Az Empire Builder helyi idő szerint délután 4 órakor siklott ki. A vonaton összesen körülbelül 147 utas és a 13 fős személyzet tartózkodott. A helyi seriffhivatal egyik tisztviselője erősítette meg, hogy legalább három ember elhunyt, és többen megsérültek, amikor a vonat öt kocsija kisiklott.
A vonat épp Chicagóból Seattle-be tartott, amikor megtörtént tragédia, de egyelőre nem tudni, hogy mi okozta azt. Többen aludtak, amikor kisiklott a vonat és hatalmas rázkódásra ébredtek. Egyik pillanatról a másikra pánik lett úrrá a vonaton, és sokan sikoltozni kezdtek.
A jelentések szerint bőven 50 felett van a sérültek száma, és lehetnek még halottak az esetleges súlyos, életveszélyes sérülések miatt.

A szeptember 11-ei merénylet az egész világot megrázta. Az USA ekkor szembesült először saját sebezhetőségével, és bosszút esküdött az iszlám szélsőségesekkel szemben. Harcunk a terror ellen az al-Kaidával kezdődik, de nem ott ér véget. Addig nem áll le, amíg a világ összes terrorszervezetét meg nem találjuk, meg nem állítjuk és le nem győzzük! – ígérte harciasan George W. Bush húsz évvel ezelőtt, 9/11 után.
Az akkori amerikai elnök alapvetően betartotta az ígéretét: az Egyesült Államok azóta is küzd a különféle terroristák ellen a világ minden pontján. Szinte szó szerint: az amerikai Brown Egyetem szerint 2018 és 2020 között az Egyesült Államok 85 országban hajtott végre valamilyen terrorellenes műveletet, beleértve a konkrét csapásoktól a kiképzésen át a hadgyakorlatokig.
Csak éppen nem nyernek. Sőt a meggyengített al-Kaida helyén, Irak és Szíria romjain egy még kegyetlenebb, vérszomjas szörny, az Iszlám Állam született meg, amelynek a halálos érintését Európa is többször megérezhette. Habár a “terrorkalifátust” legyőzték, de el nem pusztították, sőt csápjai messzire elérnek, a terrorizmus új gócpontja ma már Afrika.
A sejtszerű hálózatok mára jól szervezett fegyveres csoportokká nőtték ki magukat. Míg egy évtizede Afrika-szerte öt országot érintettek a dzsihadisták, napjainkban 15-nél tartunk. Világviszonylatban az első tíz országból, ahol a legtöbbet növekedett a terrorizmus áldozatainak a száma, hét a szubszaharai térségből került ki – írja a Magyar Nemzet.
Az eredményekhez képest a George W. Bush által meghirdetett híres terrorellenes háborúért nagy árat kellett fizetni, amerikai dollárban és emberéletben is. Az afganisztáni kivonulás kapcsán sokszor citált adat, hogy csak a harc 2448 amerikai, 1144 NATO-szövetséges – köztük 7 magyar –, 3846 katonai magánvállalat szerződéses, 66 ezer afgán katona és rendőr, több mint 47 ezer afgán civil, több mint 54 ezer tálib „ellenzéki” életét követelte.
A lista valójában ezzel még korántsem teljes. A háborúkat elemző Brown Egyetem 9/11 évfordulójára készített számításai szerint a húsz éve tartó harcok összességében legalább nyolcbillió dollárjába kerültek az amerikai adófizetőknek, és összességében – beleértve a hét háborús övezetet, Afganisztánt, Pakisztánt, Irakot, Szíriát, Jement, Líbiát, Szomáliát – több mint 900 ezer emberrel végeztek. Ráadásul ez a becslés csak a háború közvetlen veszteségeire vonatkozik, az olyan járulékos hatásokat, mint a betegségek, a menekülés vagy az élelem- és az ivóvízhiány nem is veszi figyelembe. És ez csak a jéghegy csúcsa.
Az egyetem statisztikái szerint az áldozatokból 370 ezren civilek voltak, és nem mindegyikük haláláért a szélsőségesek a felelősek. A brit központú, a konfliktuszónák civil áldozatait vizsgáló Airwars civil szervezet összesítése szerint a terrorellenes háború jegyében az amerikaiak több mint 91 ezer légi csapást hajtottak végre. Úgy becsülik, a támadásaik 22–48 ezer civil életét oltották ki. A skála a módszertani sajátosságok miatt ilyen széles, adataikat ugyanis főként helyi beszámolókra, civil szervezetek információira tudják alapozni, amelyek olykor eltérő számokat adnak meg. Legfőképpen az Iszlám Állam elleni iraki és szíriai háború volt véres, ahol a dzsihadisták a lakosságot élő pajzsként használva védekeztek.
A Pentagon ugyanakkor ezeknek a számoknak csak elenyésző töredékét ismeri el. A 2020-as évet vizsgáló jelentésükben például arra jutottak, hogy hozzávetőlegesen 23 civil vesztette életét és tíz sebesült meg az amerikai katonai akciókban. Az amerikai védelmi minisztérium meglehetősen szigorú feltételrendszerhez köti, hogy elismerje esetleges hibáját, és kártérítésre általában akkor sem lehet számítani.
Megérte?– teszik fel sokan a kérdést 9/11 huszadik évfordulóján. Az amerikaiak szerint, akik közül már minden negyedik 2001 után született, a válasz egyértelműen nem. Az Associated Press múlt hónapban, a tálib hatalomátvétel idején készített közvélemény-kutatása szerint 62 százalék szerint nem érte meg az afganisztáni beavatkozás, szemben a 35 százalékkal. Nagy fordulat ez 2001-hez képest, mikor a megkérdezettek 85-90 százaléka még egyértelműen az invázió mellett volt.

20 év börtönbüntetést is kaphat az a mexikói férfi, aki pénteken kiugrott egy felszálláshoz készülődő repülőből a Los Angeles-i Nemzetközi Repülőtéren. A férfi szervezetében metamfetamint találtak – írja az ABC News.
Kiderült, hogy metamfetamin hatása alatt állt az a férfi, aki pénteken először megpróbált betörni egy felszálláshoz készülődő repülőgép pilótafülkéjébe, majd mikor ez nem sikerült, a vészkijáratot kinyitotta, majd kiugrott a leszállópályára.
Az eset Los Angeles-i Nemzetközi Repülőtéren történt az United Airlines 5365-ös járatán, ami Salt Lake Citybe tartott.
A mexikói férfi, Luis Antonio Victoria Dominguez eltörte a lábát az ugrásban. Megműtötték, és a héten valószínűleg már meg kell jelennie a bíróság előtt a repülőgép személyzetével együtt.
A 33 éves férfi akár 20 év börtönbüntetést is kaphat az akció miatt. Mint ahogy az hétfőn kiderült, metamfetamin hatása alatt állt az utazás előtti pár napban, és mikor felszállt a repülőgépre, a drog már elkezdett kiürülni a szervezetéből, ez okozta a zavart viselkedését. Nyugtalan volt, folyton körbenézett, és azt mondta a mellette ülőnek, hogy le kell jutnia a gépről.
A férfi azt állította, a többi utas kinevette és azt mondták, a gép más irányba tart, és ezért pánikolt be. Szólt az egyik utaskísérőnek, hogy le akar szállni, de a gép ekkor már a felszálláshoz készülődött. A férfi dulakodni kezdett az utaskísérővel, majd pedig a pilótfülke ajtaján dörömbölt, akik viszont nem engedték be.
A férfi ezután nyitotta ki a vészkijáratot, szerinte a pánikrohama miatt volt ereje hozzá. Közben a repülőgép is elindult, és a többi utas próbálta visszatartani a férfit, aki mégis kiugrott, elvétve a vészcsúszdát, és helyette a leszállópályára esett. A jobb lába eltört, és még így is megpróbált minél távolabb kúszni a géptől, mikor megállították a hatóságok.

Lezuhant és életét vesztette egy 26 éves nő az egyesült államokbeli Utah államban lévő Zion Nemzeti Parkban. A nő legalább 15 métert zuhanhatott az egyik kanyonnál.
A nő holttestét a Mystery Canyonnál fedezték fel vasárnap este.
A látogatók szerint a nő egyedül volt, és szombat délután eshetett le, legalább 15, de akár 24 métert is zuhanva – írja a Fox News.
A nőt helikopterrel is megpróbálták kihúzni a merdek és keskeny falak közül, de nem sikerült. Végül az orvosok elérték, de nem sokkal később meghalt.
Az esetet jelenleg a washingtoni megyei seriff hivatala és a Nemzeti Park Szolgálata vizsgálja, a nő kilétét nem hozták nyilvánosságra.
A Zion Nemzeti Park Springdale városa közelében található, Las Vegas-tól északkeletre körülbelül 2 óra 30 percre. A környék látványos természeti szépsége és a meredek vörös sziklák miatt népszerű túrázási hely.
