Lázadás szítása és terrorizmus vádjával letartóztatták szombaton Jeanine Ánez volt bolíviai elnököt – adta hírül az AP amerikai hírügynökség.
A letartóztatáshoz az a nyomozás vezetett, amely Evo Morales korábbi államfő elleni, feltételezett puccs miatt indult. Ánezt otthonában, Trinidad városában tartóztatták le és a fővárosba, La Pazba vitték.
Ánez törvénytelennek mondja letartóztatását. Szavai szerint nem államcsíny történt, hanem alkotmányos siker, amikor 2019-ben hatalomra jutott, Evo Morales pedig külföldre távozott.
A nyomozás egyébként a Morales alapította Mozgalom a Szocializmusért (MAS) párt egyik képviselőjének decemberben benyújtott panasza nyomán kezdődött.
Bolíviában az utóbb két évben igencsak felgyorsult a politikai váltógazdálkodás. Morales 13 éven át vezette Bolíviát és a 2019-es választáson még mint elnök indult. A hivatalos eredmény szerint megnyerte, az ellenzék azonban csalást kiáltott, tüntetések kezdődtek, zavargások törtek ki, majd a hadsereg kihátrált Morales mögül, ő pedig lemondott, és előbb Mexikóba, majd Argentínába távozott, a jobboldali Anéz pedig hatalomra került.
Ezután Morales hívei kezdtek tüntetni, és a belpolitikai zavarok miatt tavaly ismét választást tartottak Bolíviában, amelyet a Mozgalom a Szocializmusért nyert meg a szavazatok 55 százalékával, és novembertől ismét ez a párt adja az elnököt Luis Arce személyében.

Hétfőn a terrorizmussal gyanúsított Evo Morales volt elnök ellen vádat emelt és elfogatóparancsot adott ki a bolíviai ügyészség – jelentette be az ABI bolíviai hírügynökség.
A vádak alapját olyan hangfelvételek képezik, amelyeken a volt államfő a tavalyi országos megmozdulások idején állítólag felszólította a helyi kokatermesztők vezetőjét, hogy híveivel zárja le a városokba vezető utakat. A volt elnök támogatói Morales kényszerű lemondását követően fontos bolíviai nagyvárosokba vezető útvonalakat torlaszoltak el, s ezeket a településeket légi úton kellett ellátni élelmiszerrel.
Argentínában kapott menekültstátuszt
A 2006-ban hatalomra került politikus tavaly novemberben lemondott, miután az országon véres tiltakozások söpörtek végig, mert az ellenzék és az Amerikai Államok Szervezete szerint csalással nyert az októberben tartott elnökválasztáson. Morales először Mexikóba, majd Kubába, végül Argentínába menekült, ahol végül menekültstátuszt kapott. Bolívia vezetését Jeanine Anez, az ország ideiglenes államfője vette át.
Morales ellen már tavaly év végén is kiadtak egy elfogatóparancsot, emellett eltiltották a korábbi elnököt a részvételtől a szeptember 6-án esedékes parlamenti választásokon.

Bolíviában a hadsereg könnygázt vetett be a Chiléből hazatérők ellen a két ország határán, hogy gátolja a koronavírus terjedését – számolt be az El Deber című helyi lap kedden.
Az újság az internetes oldalán videót is közölt az esetről, amelynek során mintegy kétszáz bolíviai állampolgár megpróbált átjutni a határon a chilei Colchane településnél, de a katonák ezt megakadályozták. A hadsereg Bolívia ideiglenes államfőjének, Jeanine Áneznek a határok lezárását elrendelő utasítása szerint járt el. A belépést megtagadó fellépés nyomán a tömeg kövekkel és más tárgyakkal kezdte el dobálni a katonákat, mire ők könnygázzal válaszoltak. Az összetűzésnek vannak sebesültjei.
A latin-amerikai ország március 10-én számolt be az új típusú koronavírus első két fertőzöttjéről. Eddig 190 ember betegedett meg, a halottak száma 14. Március 21-én az ideiglenes elnök a kór terjedésének megakadályozására elrendelte a karantén bevezetését.
