Négy börtönorvost és egy őrt ejtett túszul az egyik rab a franciaországi arles-i börtönben.
A helyi média értesülései szerint a büntetésvégrehajtási központban pénteken ejtetettek túszul öt alkalmazottat. Az elkövető feltehetően az egyik fogoly volt, aki egy pengével volt felfegyverkezve.
A jelentések szerint egy speciális rendőri egységet küldtek a börtönbe. Gérald Darmanin francia igazságügyi miniszter az X közösségi oldalán azt írta, minden rendelkezésre álló eszközt bevetettek és szorosan figyelemmel kíséri a helyzetet – írja az Euronews.
Több forrás is megerősíti, hogy a túszejtő egy 37 éves fogoly, akit fegyveresen elkövetett nemi erőszak miatt ítéltek el, és jelentős pszichiátriai zavartól szenved. Ugyanakkor a börtönszolgálat szerint a férfi profilja nem egyezik meg egy terroristáéval.

Súlyosan bántalmaztak egy rabot az őrök a New York államban található Marcy börtönében, másnapra belehalt a sérülésekbe. Az ügy miatt vizsgálat indult, és nyilvánosságra hozták négy őr testkamerás felvételeit a bántalmazásról ‒ írja a Guardianra hivatkozva a Telex.
A New York-i főügyészi hivatal közleménye szerint a büntetés-végrehajtási intézmény több mint egy tucat munkatársa lehetett jelen, amikor nekiestek Robert Brooksnak. Az intézmény tizennégy munkatársát a vizsgálatok idejére felfüggesztették. A pénteken nyilvánosságra hozott négy testkamerás felvételen az látszik, hogy megbilincselték a 43 éves férfit, majd verni kezdték. Az őrök perceken keresztül ütötték Brooksot, aki a felvételek szerint nem tudott védekezni sem.
Miután felrakták az asztalra, az egyik őr zárt ököllel mellkason ütötte a rabot, de az ágyékát is megtaposták. A testkamerás felvételek alapján két ápoló mindeközben a folyosón várakozik, és időnként bekukkantanak a szobába. A végén aztán behívják az ápolókat a szobába, hogy ellenőrizzék, életben van-e még a 43 éves férfi.
Az orvosszakértő jelentése szerint Brooks töréseket és sérüléseket szenvedett a felsőtestén, az ágyékán, a nyakán és a fején, valószínűleg „a nyak összenyomódása miatti fulladás következtében” halt meg.
Az államügyész közleményében arról írt: felelőssége és kötelessége átláthatóságot, elszámoltathatóságot biztosítani az áldozat családjának és New York állam minden polgárának. Ezzel indokolta a felvételek közzétételét is.
A New York-i Polgárjogi Unió (NYCLU) közleménye szerint Brooks bántalmazása nem elszigetelt eset, és megmutatja, hogy következmények nélkül bántalmazhatják az őrök a rabokat.

Kárpátalján a Nemzeti Rendőrség munkatársai a Stratégiai Nyomozó Főosztály és az Ukrán Biztonsági Szolgálat munkatársaival együttműködve lelepleztek egy kábítószer-kereskedéssel foglalkozó bűnszervezetet.
Megállapították, hogy a kábítószer-kereskedelmet egy 28 éves ungvári lakos szervezte, aki jelenleg vagyon elleni bűncselekmények miatt börtönbüntetését tölti. Az elkövető egy másik rabot és két szabadlábon lévő bűntársat is bevont az illegális tevékenységbe – egy 47 éves ungvári nőt és egy 40 éves donyecki származású nőt.
Utóbbiak a szervező utasítása szerint kábítószer-tételeket csomagoltak, és biztonságosan élelmiszertermékekbe rejtették, amelyeket aztán postai szolgáltatón keresztül juttattak el a börtönbe.
A rendőrök egy tétel marihuána és több mint fél kilogramm metamfetamin eladását dokumentálták.
Az ügyben büntetőeljárás indult, a tettesekre akár 12 év börtönbüntetés is várhat.

A tiltakozások június végén kezdődtek a kormányzati állások 30 százalékát a bangladesi háborús veteránok rokonai számára fenntartó kvóta megszüntetését követelve. A több mint 170 milliós muszlim országban a diplomásokat akut álláshiány sújtja, és ellenzői szerint a kvótarendszer az országot 2009 óta vezető, 76 éves Sejk Hasina miniszterelnököt támogató csoportok gyerekeinek kedvez.
A tüntetések erőszakos összecsapásokba torkolltak a tüntető diákok, valamint a rendőrök és ellentüntetők között, amelyekben kedd óta ötvenen haltak meg az AFP-nek a kórházak közlésén alapuló összesített adatai szerint.
Az ENSZ emberi jogi főbiztosa elítélte pénteken a megtorlást, és bírálta a tüntető diákokkal szembeni „rendkívül megdöbbentő és elfogadhatatlan” támadásokat.
Volker Türk közleményében „pártatlan, gyors és kimerítő” vizsgálatot követelt a sok ember életét kioltó támadások ügyében, „amelyeknek az elkövetőit felelősségre kell vonni”. A főbiztos önmérsékletre szólított fel minden felet, és emlékeztette a biztonsági erőket, hogy az erő mindenféle alkalmazásának összhangban kell állnia az emberi jogokra vonatkozó nemzetközi jogszabályokkal.
A főbiztos aggodalmát fejezte ki azok miatt az értesülések miatt, amelyek szerint a hatóságok félkatonai egységeket – határőröket és a gyorsreagálású zászlóaljat – is kivezényelnek a tüntetők ellen, amelyeknek „nagy múltja van az emberi jogok megsértésében”.
A diákok pénteken ismét utcára vonultak a pénteki nagyima után tervezett ellentüntetés előtt. Szemtanúk elmondása szerint a rendőrség könnygázt vetett be a 20 millió lakosú Dakka több negyedében.
Az AP amerikai hírügynökség fotóriportere szemtanúja volt, amint határőrök rálőttek egy több mint ezer fős tömegre, amely a bangladesi állami televízió (BTV) székháza előtt gyűlt össze, amelyet a tüntetők előző nap megrohamoztak és felgyújtottak. A határőrök karabéllyal és hanggránátokkal, a rendőrök pedig gumilövedékkel támadtak a tiltakozókra.
A „közbiztonság érdekében” a rendőrség betiltotta nagygyűléseket, felvonulásokat és nyilvános gyülekezéseket pénteken Dakkában.
Pénteken ismét jelentős akadozások voltak a távközlési szolgáltatásokban.
A rendőrség bejelentette, hogy őrizetbe vette Dakkában az egyik legismertebb ellenzéki vezetőt, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmedet, a Bangladesi Nemzeti Párt (BNP) egyik vezetőjét, de, hogy miért, azt nem közölték.
Az Independent Television kereskedelmi csatorna szerint a csütörtöki tüntetéseken több mint hétszáz ember sebesült meg, közöttük 104 rendőr és 30 újságíró. A televízió szerint az ország 64 körzete közül 26-ban voltak összecsapások.
A rendőrség megerősítette, hogy mintegy száz rendőr megsebesült, mintegy ötven rendőrbódét gyújtottak fel. A BTV, amelynek a székházát csütörtökön felgyújtották, pénteken nem sugárzott műsorokat.
Hasina kormánya 2018-ban a diáktüntetések hatására már eltörölte a kvótarendszert, de júniusban a bangladesi felsőbíróság megsemmisítette a döntést és ismét hatályba helyezte a függetlenségi háború veteránjai rokonaiknak kedvező kvótákat. A legfelsőbb bíróság, amely augusztus 7-re tűzött ki meghallgatást Hasina kormányának a felsőbírósági döntés elleni fellebbezése nyomán, a meghallgatásig felfüggesztette a felsőbíróság döntését.

Meghalt a börtönben Ihar Lednyik fehérorosz ellenzéki aktivista – közölte kedden egykori pártja és egy politikai foglyokkal foglalkozó civil szervezet. Az aktivistát Aljakszandr Lukasenka elnök rágalmazása címén ítélték elzárásra.
„Ihar Lednyik, a fehérorosz Szociáldemokrata Párt (Hramada) egykori tagja, aktivista és újságíró elhunyt a börtönben. Hatvannégy éves volt” – közölte a több mint ezer politikai foglyot számon tartó civil szervezet a Telegram üzenetküldő alkalmazáson. A hírt a Vjaszna jogvédő szervezet is megerősítette.
Az aktivistát 2022 decemberében vették őrizetbe, és háromévi börtönre ítélték az elnök rágalmazása címén, miután megjelentetett egy cikket a Szociáldemokrata Párt lapjában. Pártja szerint a börtönben „jelentősen romlott” az állapota.
A civil szervezet, amely szerint a férfi bélpanaszok miatt műtéten esett át, és szívpanaszai is voltak, nem közölte sem a halál okát, sem pontos időpontját.
A Vjaszna honlapján a szociáldemokrata pártlapra hivatkozva az írta, hogy az aktivista halálát szívleállás okozta. Az orvosok megpróbálták újraéleszteni, de nem jártak sikerrel. A férfi egy minszki kórházban halt meg, ahová a babrujszki fegyenctelepről szállították, ahol a büntetését töltötte.
Az emberi jogi szervezet szerint 2021 óta Ihar Lednyik az ötödik politikai fogoly, aki börtönben halt meg. A Vjaszna szerint jelenleg több mint 1400 politikai fogoly van Fehéroroszországban. Fehéroroszországban a 2020. évi, vitatott tisztaságú elnökválasztás óta aktivisták, újságírók, emberi jogvédők és közönséges állampolgárok százait ítélték súlyos börtönbüntetésre vagy kényszerítették száműzetésbe.
A száműzetésben élő ellenzéki vezető, Szvjatlana Cihanouszkaja „igazságtalanságnak és hihetetlen tragédiának” nevezte az aktivista halálát.
„A rezsim a börtönben öli meg a fehéroroszokat, akik jobbra akarják fordítani az ország sorsát” – írta a politikus Telegram csatornáján.
Cihanouszkaja azzal vádolta a hatóságokat, hogy „szándékosan ölték meg” Lednyiket, aki szerepelt a „túl idős, illetve beteg” fogvatartottakról készült humanitárius listán. Legkevesebb kilenc ember életét vesztette Guineában abban a szombati incidensben, amelynek során fegyveresek megrohamoztak egy börtönt, és rövid időre kiszabadították onnan a nyugat-afrikai országot irányító junta egykori vezetőjét – közölte hétfőn a guineai igazságügyi minisztérium.
Moussa Dadis Camara, aki 2008 és 2010 között állt a junta élén, egy 2009-es tüntetés brutális vérbe fojtása miatt van őrizetben. Szombat hajnalban fegyveresek kiszabadították a börtönből három társával együtt. A hatóságok nagy erőkkel kutatni kezdtek a szökevények után, és néhány órán belül el is fogták a junta egykori vezetőjét, akit a nap végére vissza is szállítottak a börtönbe Conakryban.
Az igazságügyi minisztérium tájékoztatása szerint kilenc holttestet találtak a véres incidens után, az akcióban három támadó, négy katona és még két ember halt meg. Hat ember megsebesült, őket kórházban ápolják.
Moussa Dadis Camara 2008-ban került hatalomra Guineában katonai államcsínyt követően. Az országot 2010-ig irányította a junta élén, majd 2021-ig emigrációban élt. Tavaly szeptemberben vették őrizetbe és állították bíróság elé a 2009-ben a főváros, Conakry stadionjában elkövetett mészárlás miatt, amelynek során a katonák – 157 embert megölve – vérbe fojtottak egy tüntetést.

Kijevben vizsgálati fogságban lévő fogvatartottak csalási tervet eszeltek ki: magukat katonáknak kiadva nem létező áramfejlesztőket adtak el – adta hírül pénteken az rbc.ua hírportál a Legfőbb Ügyészség sajtószolgálatára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a nyomozók megállapították, hogy a csalást egy többszörösen büntetett előéletű férfi szervezte. A kijevi vizsgálati fogdában (SZIZO) három másik fogvatartottal együtt generátorok eladásáról szóló hirdetéseket tett közzé a közösségi hálózatokon. A foglyok 2-10 ezer hrivnya előleget kértek a vásárlóktól a nem létező generátorokért. A csaló rabok azt ígérték, hogy egy bizonyos időponti megküldik a generátorokat, majd a késéseket azzal magyarázták, hogy ők katonák és a frontra küldték őket. Később a foglyok abbahagyták a kommunikációt a vásárlókkal. A csalási rendszer 2022 novemberétől 2023 februárjáig működött, amíg Ukrajnában állandóak voltak az áramszünetek.
A hatóságok a csalássorozat legalább hat kárvallottját azonosították. A nyomozók átkutatták a foglyok celláit. A foglyokat a büntetőtörvénykönyv 190. cikkelyének 3. része alapján csalással vádolták meg.

Nagy valószínűséggel megmérgezték a börtönben Miheil Szaakasvili volt grúz elnököt egy friss vizsgálat szerint – számolt be róla az Izvesztija az Mtavari grúz tévécsatorna híradása alapján.
Shalva Khachapuridze, Szaakasvili ügyvédje nemrég hozta nyilvánosságra az orvosi vizsgálat eredményét, amely kimutatta, hogy a volt grúz elnök testében egyéb mérgező anyagok mellett arzént is találtak.
Szaakasvili egészségügyi állapota már annyira leromlott, hogy az előzetes értesülések szerint a bíróságra is tolószékkel érkezik majd, hiszen önállóan már nem képes járni.
November 25-én Mariam Jishkariani, az Empathy civil szervezet vezetője arról számolt be, hogy a volt grúz elnök testében három nehézfémet mutattak ki. Az orvos akkor arra következtetett, hogy Szaakasvili minden bizonnyal mérgezés áldozata lett.
Nem sokkal az orvosi vizsgálatokat követően kezdett el drámaian romlani Szaakasvili egészségügyi állapota. Az ügyvédje szerint nem csak járni képtelen, hanem emellett a bal kezében lévő izmok is elhaltak, valamint a tavaly októberi bebörtönzése óta már 30 kilogrammot fogyott a szörnyű körülmények miatt.
Szaakasvilit 2021 október elsején tartóztatták le, mert a vádak szerint illegálisan lépte át a grúz határt. Emellett szintén vádolják Szandro Girgvliani grúz bankvezető meggyilkolásával összefüggésben, valamint azért, mert állítólag ő rendelte el Valeri Gelasvili grúz képviselő megveretését.
