Az Egyesült Királyság védelmi minisztériuma vasárnap arról írt, hogy az elmúlt két hétben az orosz erők valószínűleg a legmagasabb veszteségeket szenvedték el az ukrajnai invázió első hete óta.
Az ukrán védelmi minisztérium február 12-én közölte, hogy Oroszország szombaton mintegy 900 katonát vesztett Ukrajnában. Ugyan a brit védelmi hírszerzés nem tudta megerősíteni az információt, de a szakértők szerint a tendenciák valószínűleg pontosak.
A vasárnapi jelentés szerint az elmúlt hét nap átlaga napi 824 orosz veszteség volt, ami több mint négyszerese a 2022 június–júliusában jelentett aránynak, közölte a tárca.
Az orosz veszteségek növekedése többek között a kiképzett személyzet, a koordináció és az erőforrások hiányával magyarázható – írták.

A tél beköszönte komolyan megnehezíti a katonaság helyzetét a harci övezetben terepen, és hatással lesz a hadműveletek intenzitására a harctéren – áll a brit hírszerzés november 14-i jelentésében.
Az évszakváltás mind az orosz, mind az ukrán hadsereget érinti: jön a rövid nappalok és az alacsony hőmérséklet időszaka.
„Az Oroszországi Föderáció vezérkarának bármely döntését részben a tél beállta fogja meghatározni. A nappali fény napi kilenc órára csökken, szemben a nyári 15-16 órával. Ez kevesebb támadó hadműveletet és inkább statikus, védekező stratégiát jelent” – jelentette ki a brit védelmi minisztérium.
A helyzetet befolyásolhatja az éjjellátó készülékek elérhetősége is.
A brit hírszerzés elmondása szerint ráadásul a hideg kihívássá válik, és ha a hadseregnek problémái lesznek a téli egyenruhákkal, valamint az életkörülmények biztosításával, az nagy valószínűséggel hatással lesz a honvédek egészségére.
Ráadásul a hideg csaknem felére csökkenti a súlyos sebesültek sikeres gyógyulásának idejét. Az eső, az erős szél és a hóvihar további kihívást jelent majd a katonák számára a harci övezetekben, nem csak a kényelmük és a moráljuk, hanem a fegyvereik karbantartásának szempontjából is.
