Egy cápa támadt egy úszóra Spanyolország partjainál. 2016 óta ez volt az első alkalom, hogy a régióban egy kékcápa támadt egy fürdőzőre.
A helyi média jelentése szerint a cápa a Rabdells strandon nekiment a fürdőző lábának, majd fogait bele mélyesztette. A férfi állítólag a sekély vízben úszkált, ahol a cápa „zavarodottan” úszkált. A strand a Valenciától délre fekvő Oliva településen található, a spanyol szárazföld keleti partján. A tanács vezetői elrendelték a part menti strandok lezárását a vizsgálat idejére.
A Las Provincias című helyi lapnak nyilatkozva a férfi elmondta, hogy egy árnyékot látott a vízben, majd ütést érzett a lábán, ezt követően pedig a cápa lecsapott rá. Mint mondta, az adrenalin ellenére megpróbált úgy segítséget kérni, hogy strandoló társai ne essenek pánikba.
Úgy fogalmazott: „Nem volt időm megijedni. Észrevettem, hogy folyik a vér a lábamból, ezért bementem a tengerbe, hogy ne riasszak meg senkit”.
Az állítólag helybéli férfi ekkor még nem volt tudtában annak, hogy cápa harapta meg. Amikor kijutott a vízből segítséget kért a mentősöktől. A szakemberek megvizsgálták a lábán lévő harapás mintázatát, és megállapították, hogy egy kékcápa harapás okozta – ami arra késztette Oliva város tanácsát, hogy megelőző intézkedésként lezárja a strandokat, amíg a cápa a közeli vizekben tartózkodik.
A támadás csütörtökön délután történt, feltehetően 2016 óta ez volt az első alkalom, hogy kékcápa támadott meg egy fürdőzőt Valencia régióban. A férfi a történtek ellenére vissza tér a vízbe amint csak tud.

Négy cápatámadást jelentettek a New York-i Long Island partjainál a július 4-i ünnepi időszakban. Az Atlanti Cápakutató Intézet szerint az elmúlt két évben összesen 13 támadás történt az államban, több, mint az azt megelőző 175 évben.
A szakértők szerint a cápák azért merészkednek közelebb a partokhoz, mert az óceán felmelegedett az elmúlt években, és zsákmányaik a sekélyebb vizekre mennek.
George Gorman, az intézet igazgatója szerdán elmondta: meglepte, hogy ilyen gyorsan és a szezonnak ennyire az elején ilyen sok támadás történt. A Suffolk megyei rendőrség közlése szerint az első cápatámadás hétfő kora este történt, amikor egy 15 éves fiút, aki Fire Island közelében szörfözött, a sarkán és a lábujjain megharapott egy állat. A fiú nem életveszélyes sérülésekkel került kórházba.
A második támadás szintén hétfőn történt, körülbelül 11 kilométerre az első helyszínétől. Az áldozat egy 15 éves lány volt, akinek bal lábát harapta meg egy cápa.
Kedden két férfit ért támadás, mindkettejüket Hamptons környékén. Egyikük sérülése sem volt életveszélyes.
Egy szakértő szerint a fognyomok alapján homoki tigriscápák követhették el a támadásokat, amelyek a part közelében tanyáznak, amikor halakra vadásznak.
Kedden mintegy ötven homoki tigriscápát észleltek drónok segítségével Long Island partjainál, és több mint egy órán át tilos volt fürdőzni a környéken.
Az elmúlt napokban Floridában és Massachusettsben is láttak cápákat.
Szakértők szerint a homoki tigriscápák az elmúlt években közelebb merészkedtek a partokhoz, mert az óceán felmelegedése miatt zsákmányaik is a sekélyebb vizekben tanyáznak. Bár támadásaik egyre gyakoribbá váltak, ez a faj még sohasem ölt embert. Ugyanakkor más, veszélyesebb cápafajok is átvándoroltak az északabbra található vizekre az elmúlt években. 2020-ban egy nagy fehér cápa végzett egy maine-i nővel az állam történetének első cápatámadása során.

Magnolia Woodhead a strand mólójától nem messze úszott a vízben amikor megtámadta egy cápa múlt hét hétfőn – írja a People.
„Amikor kijöttem a vízből, azonnal sikítani kezdtem, mert tudtam, hogy ennek nem lesz jó vége” – mondta Woodhead. „A férjem felemelte, és láttuk, hogy tiszta vér a lába” – tette hozzá az édesanyja, Melissa Stallings.
A tizenévest kórházba szállították kezelésre, ahol 50 öltést kapott. Az orvosok a sebek számából ítélve úgy gondolják, hogy a cápa kétszer harapta meg a lányt. Magnolia édesanyja hozzátette, hogy körülbelül 75-100 seb volt a lánya lábán.

Viktor Voropajev orosz főkonzul megerősítette, az 1999-es születésű orosz állampolgár „cápatámadás következtében halt meg, hozzátéve, hogy a halálhírt az egyiptomi illetékes hatóságok is megerősítették. Jasmine Fouad környezetvédelmi miniszter egy bizottságot is összehívott az eset kivizsgálására.
A környezetvédelmi miniszter ezen felül arra utasította a helyi hatóságokat, hogy a lehető legmagasabb szintű biztonságot biztosítsák a Vörös-tenger partjaira látogatók számára, s tegyenek meg minden lehetséges intézkedést annak érdekében, hogy ne ismétlődhessen meg az incidens.
Az egyiptomi környezetvédelmi minisztérium által kiadott közleményben arra is kitértek, hogy egy erre szakosodott csapatnak később sikerült befognia a támadó tigriscápát, jelenleg pedig vizsgálatokat végeznek rajta, hogy kiderítsék a támadás okát, s megállapítsák, hogy ez ugyanaz a cápa-e, mely a korábbi incidenseket okozta.
A halálos cápatámadás nyomán a környezetvédelmi minisztérium péntektől kétnapos fürdőzési tilalmat rendelt el, így a környéken sem úszni, sem búvárkodni, sem pedig más vízi sporttevékenységet nem lehet űzni a Hurghadától északra fekvő Gouna és a tőle délre fekvő Soma-öböl közötti területen.

Cápa harapásaiba halt bele egy 59 éves ausztrál turista a Franciaországhoz tartozó, csendes-óceáni Új-Kaledónia partjainál.
A férfi a sziget székhelyén, Nouméában strandolt vasárnap délután, és a parttól mintegy 150 méterre támadta meg a tengeri ragadozó, és többször is megharapta – közölte a helyi hatóság hétfőn.
A közelben csónakázó két férfi vitte az áldozatot a partra, ahol a vízi mentők igyekeztek életben tartani, azonban egyik lábán és két karján olyan súlyosan megsérült, hogy az újraélesztési kísérletek ellenére a helyszínen meghalt.
A Chateau-Royal strandon sokan voltak a vízben a baleset idején, azonnal a partra rohantak, a rendőrség pedig kiürítette a területet. Az ügyben eljárás is indult, mert a cápatámadás elkerített és szakképzett személyzet által felügyelt területen történt.
Sonia Lagarde, a város polgármestere a környék összes strandját lezáratta, és elrendelte a tigriscápák és bikacápák befogását a közeli vizeken. Követésükre drónokat vetettek be , kettőt észre is vettek, mielőtt sötétedéskor lezárták a műveletet.
A múlt hónapban ugyanennek a strandnak a közelében egy 49 éves fürdőzőt sebesített meg egy cápa, pár nappal később egy ragadozó szörfösre támadt, aki azonban nem sérült meg.

Az elmúlt hónapokban számos cápa támadt emberre, legutóbb a Bahamák vizein történt esetről számoltunk be, most viszont a dél-afrikai Plettenberg-öbölben úszó nő lett egy fehér cápa áldozata.
A helyiek egy nő kiabálására lettek figyelmesek, akit egy nagy fehér cápa támadt meg, amikor megmártózott a tengerben a dél-afrikai Plettenberg-öbölben található Central Beach-nél.
A 39 éves nő egy kicsit messzebb úszott a vele együtt nyaraló társaitól, amikor a ragadozó vad hirtelen előbukkant, és szétmarcangolta. A szemtanúk azonnal hívták a tengeri mentőket, majd nem sokkal később a sikoltozó strandolóknak és szörfösöknek sikerült elijeszteniük a cápát – írja a The Mirror.
A mentőhajó orvosai már nem tudták megmenteni a nő életét, mert túl későn érkeztek meg a helyszínre. A helyi hatóságok lezárták a strandot, és kihelyezett táblákkal arra figyelmeztették az embereket, hogy ne menjenek be a vízbe. Helyi beszámolók szerint a nő a környéken nyaralt. Az elmúlt tizenegy évben ő a harmadik ember, aki cápatámadás áldozata lett a Plettenberg-öbölben.
„Kicsit felhős volt az ég, de sütött a nap, és jó néhányan már korán reggel megmártóztak a vízben, mivel elég meleg volt. Aztán csak sikoltozásokat hallottam, és láttam, hogy az emberek szaladnak ki a vízből. Rögtön arra gondoltam, hogy ez cápatámadás, de elég messze voltam a történésektől, aztán amikor felbukkant a mentőcsónak, egyből tudtam, hogy nagy a baj” – mondta egy szemtanú.
