A Kárpátaljai Regionális Ügyészség súlyosbította a bűnvádat annak a férfinak az ügyében, aki tavaly decemberben, a tanács ülésén felrobbantott egy gránátot a kárpátaljai Kereckén.
A robbantásban többen megsérültek, és közülük ketten meg is haltak (az első áldozat pár nappal később, a második áldozat pedig január közepén halt bele sérüléseibe). Az elkövetőt már régóta terrorcselekmény elkövetésével gyanúsítják, azonban a pontos büntetőtörvénykönyvi meghatározásban most egy apróbb változás állt be.
A kárpátaljai ügyészség közleményében azt írták, hogy eddig „súlyos következményekkel járó terrorcselekmény” miatt zajlott a nyomozás. Azonban a körülményekre tekintettel ezt nemrég módosították az „emberek halálát okozó terrorcselekményre”. Az ügyészség megjegyezte, hogy ez utóbbiért akár már életfogytiglani börtönbüntetés is járhat.
Minderről nemrég értesítették a gyanúsítottat is. Mint írták, az első halálos áldozat esetében már lezárult a halottkém vizsgálata, és ez megerősítette, hogy a férfival a robbanás végzett. A második áldozatnál még zajlik a vizsgálat.
Végül azt is közölték, hogy a robbantót jelenleg is egy egészségügyi intézményben ápolják, és 24 órás bűnügyi felügyelet alatt áll.

Az Independent jelentése szerint a 19 éves Mackenzie Shirilla-t többrendbeli gyilkosságban találták bűnösnek: az ohiói tinédzsert életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre ítélték, amiért szándékosan 160 kilométer/órás sebességgel száguldott közúton úgy, hogy mellette ült barátja, mögötte pedig egy ismerőse.
Az ütközés olyan erejű volt, hogy a 20 éves Dominic Russo és a 19 éves Davion Flanagan is életét vesztette. Shirilla, aki a baleset idején 17 éves volt, életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre számíthat, és legkevesebb 15 évet kell rács mögött töltenie, mielőtt feltételes szabadlábra helyezésért folyamodhatna.
Nancy Margaret Russo, a Cuyahoga megyei Common Pleas Court bírája, aki esküdtszék nélkül tartotta a tárgyalást, egyértelműen kijelentette:
„Volt egy küldetése, és azt precízen végrehajtotta. A döntés a halál volt. Tettei ellenőrzöttek, módszeresek, szándékosak és céltudatosak voltak. Ez nem gondatlan vezetés volt. Ez gyilkosság volt.”
A bíróságon elhangzott, hogy a baleset 2022. július 31-én hajnali 5 óra 30 perc körül történt egy üzleti parkban lévő épületnél. A nyomozók szerint Shirilla egy mindössze egy kilométeres szakaszon gyorsult 160 kilométer/órára 2018-as Toyota Camryjével.
Az autóból megszerzett adatok és a biztonsági kamerák felvételei is alátámasztották, hogy a lány először jobbra, majd balra rántotta a kormányt, mielőtt a jármű letért az útról és az üzlethelyiségbe csapódott. A roncsot egy járókelő fedezte fel mintegy 45 perccel az ütközés után.
Amikor a rendőrség kiérkezett, Russót és Flanagant holtan találták, Shrilla pedig a vezetőülésbe szorulva, a gázpedálra tapadva, egy bolyhos Prada papucsban volt. A bíróságon elhangzott, az incidens utolsó másodpercei bizonyították azt, hogy a lány szándékosan cselekedett.

Az ukrán belbiztonság (SZBU) elfogott egy 23 éves férfit, aki a gyanú szerint az orosz hírszerzésnek dolgozva készített elő egy rakétatámadást a főváros ellen – írja a Sky News.
Az SZBU szerint a férfi több olyan helyszínen is járt Kijevben, ahol ukrán katonák állomásoznak. Véleményük szerint elsősorban azokról a bázisokról gyűjtött adatokat, ahol a katonai eszközök karbantartását végzik, de a fővárosi energia-infrastruktúráról is információkat adott át a feletteseinek. Végül akkor érték tetten, amikor egy katonai bázist levideózott, és feljegyezte a létesítmény GPS-koordinátáit.
A férfiről azt is elárulták, hogy odesszai születésű, valamint hogy a laptopján és okostelefonján is terhelő bizonyítékokat találtak. A gyanúsított jelenleg őrizetben van, és akár életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést is kaphat, ha elítélik.

Életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre ítélték szerdán Matteo Messina Denaro szicíliai maffivezért többek között a Giovanni Falcone és Paolo Borsellino bírók ellen 1992-ben elkövetett merényletben játszott szerepéért.
A szicíliai Caltanissetta fellebviteli bírósága másodfokon helybenhagyta a 2020-as ítéletet, amelyet akkor hoztak, amikor a férfi még szökésben volt. A friss döntés napra pontosan a Borsellino bíró elleni robbantásos merénylet 31. évfordulóján született meg.
Adriana Vella, a maffiavezér ügyvédje tiltakozott az ítélet ellen és védence felmentését kérte, mert állítása szerint Denarónak sem megrendelőként, sem végrehajtóként nem volt köze a gyilkosságokhoz.
Giovanni Falcone vizsgálóbíró ellen 1992 májusában követtek el robbantásos merényletet, amikor autója a palermói repülőtérre vezető úton haladt; a nagy erejű detonáció következtében a vele utazó felesége és három kísérője is életüket vesztették.
Két hónappal később, 1992. július 19-én közeli kollégája, Paolo Borsellino és öt kísérője szintén pokolgépes merénylet áldozata lett. A két merénylet óriási megdöbbenést és felháborodást váltott ki az olasz közvéleményben, és a tettesek kézrekerítésére hajtóvadászatot indított a rendőrség.
A korábban a maffia finanszírozásában szerepet játszó, majd kegyetlen gyilkosként ismertté vált Matteo Messina Denaro a szicíliai Castelvetrano egykori maffiavezérének fiaként 1993-ban vette át a Cosa Nostra vezetését az akkor már 23 éve körözött Toto Riinától, aki addig a szicíliai „maffiafőnökök főnöke” volt.
Mivel Denaro folyamatosan szökésben volt, hírhedt elődeihez hasonlóan őt is több ügyben, főként gyilkosságok megrendelőjeként vagy végrehajtójaként, távollétében ítélte életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre az olasz igazságszolgáltatás.
Január közepén vették őrizetbe Palermóban, azóta Abruzzo tartomány székhelye, L’Aquila egy börtönében tartották fogva.

Életfogytiglani börtönbüntetésre ítélték azt a vinnicai lakost, aki 2018-ban megölte az anyját, a feleségét és két kiskorú gyermekét – közölte hétfőn az rbc.ua hírportál a Legfőbb Ügyészség Telegram-csatornájára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint a nyomozás kiderítette, hogy a férfi 2018. december 31-én megölte édesanyját, volt feleségét és két gyermekét – egy hároméves kislányt és egy hétéves fiút. „Az áldozatok együtt laktak az elítélt vinnicai lakásában, ő pedig külön. A találkozók során, amikor a férfi egykori családját látogatta meg, gyakran alakultak ki konfliktusok” – áll a közleményben.
Az ügyészség tájékoztatása szerint az elítélt egy újabb veszekedés során fojtogatni kezdte volt nejét, többször megütötte egy kalapáccsal. Hasonló módon bánt édesanyjával és kiskorú gyermekeivel is. Bűntettét megpróbálta elleplezni – fegyveres támadást szimulált a lakásban: az áldozatok holmiját, iratait szétszórta, a bejárati ajtót pedig nyitva hagyta. „Ezt követően taxival átment a város másik részébe, ahol megszabadult a gyilkos fegyvertől – a kalapácstól, amit a szemetes kukába dobott. Amikor visszatért a lakásba, látta, hogy senki sem észlelte a bűncselekményt, ezért a kétségbeesést és a helyzet félreértését szimulálva egyedül hívta a mentőt” – közölte az ügyészség.
Az orvosok a helyszínen megállapították a két nő és egy fiú halálát a tragédia után. A kislány néhány órán belül halt meg a kórházban.

Sorozatos nemi erőszak, emberrablás és több más rendkívül súlyos bűncselekmény miatt többszörös életfogytiglanra ítélte kedden az eljáró londoni bíróság David Carricket, aki a vádirat szerint 2003 és 2020 között a Scotland Yard fegyveres parlamenti és diplomáciai védelmi elitalakulatának tagjaként legalább 24 alkalommal követett el nemi erőszakot legalább 12 áldozat sérelmére.
A teljes vádlista összesen 85 bűncselekményt sorol fel; ezeket az ügyészség 49 vádpontban összegezte. Carrick az ellene megfogalmazott összes vádpontban bűnösnek mondta magát.
A 48 éves volt rendőr állítólag öngyilkosságot kísérelt meg a londoni Belmarsh börtönben, ahol vizsgálati fogságát töltötte. Ez azonban nem hatotta meg a londoni Southwark kerület koronabíróságát, mely 36-szoros életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést rótt ki rá, a végzés szerint Carricknek az előzetes letartóztatást beszámítva legalább harminc évet kell rács mögött töltenie, mielőtt kérelmezheti feltételes szabadlábra helyezését.
A volt rendőr általában online társkereső oldalakon szervezte le találkáit, az általa megismert nők közül többet szabályosan elrabolt, napokig fogva tartotta őket házának egyik apró tárolóhelyiségében, és hivatali fegyverével fenyegetőzve bántalmazta, rendszeresen megerőszakolta őket.
A vádhatóság megállapítása szerint Carrick azért tudta csaknem két évtizedekig zaklatni, erőszakolni és bántalmazni a nőket – köztük egyik kollégáját is -, mert áldozatai attól féltek, hogy hivatali hatalmánál fogva bosszút áll, ha feljelentik.
A vizsgálat során végül tizenkét nő tett tanúvallomást a sérelmére Carrick által elkövetett bűncselekményekről, a londoni rendőrség azonban nincs meggyőződve arról, hogy egykori rendőre nem követett-e el hasonló bűncselekményeket még több ember ellen. Ezért a Scotland Yard kedden kérte, hogy aki hasonló bűncselekmények sértettje volt és felismeri Carricket egykori támadójaként, mindenképpen jelentkezzen a hatóságoknál.
A Scotland Yard főparancsnoka, Sir Mark Rowley kedden hivatalos nyilatkozatban kért elnézést az egykori rendőr bűncselekményeiért, és elismerte: soha nem lett volna szabad megengedni, hogy Carrick rendőregyenruhát öltsön, és a rendőrség 17 éven át nem járt el elég szigorúan az ügyben. Suella Braverman brit belügyminiszter az ítélethirdetés után kijelentette, hogy a bűncselekmény-sorozat „sebet ejtett” a londoni rendőrség megítélésén – melynek nimbuszát az utóbbi időkben már több botrány is megtépázta.
Wayne Couzenst, aki szintén a Scotland Yard fegyveres parlamenti és diplomáciai védelmi elitalakulatának tagja volt, a londoni büntetőbíróság 2021 szeptemberében tényleges életfogytiglani börtönre ítélte nemi erőszak és gyilkosság vádjával. A kétgyerekes családapa ugyanis 2021 tavaszán rendőrigazolványát felmutatva London egyik déli kerületében megállított, megbilincselte és bérelt kocsijába kényszerített egy gyalogosan hazafelé tartó 33 éves nőt, akit 130 kilométernyi utat követően a délkelet-angliai Dover közelében, egy elhagyatott helyen megerőszakolt, majd egy övvel megfojtott. A botrányos ügy miatti bizalmi válságnak köszönhetően 2022 februárjában lemondott tisztségéről Cressida Dick, a londoni rendőrség addigi főparancsnoka is. Carrick lebukása azonban pont ennek a gyilkosságnak köszönhető, 2021 októberében ugyanis egyik áldozatát Sarah Everard tragédiája motiválta abban, hogy feljelentse a férfit.

Miután kiderült, hogy a rab nem kedd reggel tűnt el, hanem már több napja szökésben lehet, Steve Sisolak kormányzó „elfogadhatatlannak” nevezte a biztonsági rést, és kijelentette, hogy „a felelősöket felelősségre vonják”.
Duarte-Herrera 2010. február 18-án érkezett a nevadai büntetés-végrehajtási intézetbe, miután bűnrészesként ítélték el egy gyilkossági ügyben. A férfit azzal vádolták, hogy 2007-ben segített egy másik férfinak, Omar Denversnek Willebaldo Antonio meggyilkolásában úgy, hogy csőbombát helyeztek el a férfi autójában. Az ügyészek akkor azzal érveltek, hogy a robbantás „bosszúgyilkosság volt”, mivel Antonio akkoriban épp Denvers volt barátnőjével járt.
A rendőrség közleménye szerint a szökött rabot „fegyveresnek és veszélyesnek” kell tekinteni, körözést adtak ki ellene.

Férje megöléséért életfogytiglanra ítélte hétfőn egy portlandi bíróság Nancy Crampton Brophy írónőt, aki egyebek közt Hogyan öljük meg a férjünket? címmel publikált online esszét.
Az Oregon állambeli bíróság ítélete lehetővé teszi, hogy a szentimentális romantikus novelláiról ismert 71 éves írónő az előírt feltételek teljesülése esetén 25 év után kiszabaduljon a börtönből. Crampton Brophy-t május 25-én találta bűnösnek férje meggyilkolásában az esküdtszék.
A vád szerint az asszonynak anyagi gondjai voltak, ezért 2018 júniusában egy főzőiskolában két, szívre leadott lövéssel leterítette az ott szakácsként dolgozó férjét, hogy hozzájusson több százezer dolláros életbiztosításához. A 63 éves Daniel Brophy-t tanítványai találták meg az egyik osztályterem padlóján.
Az özvegy ártatlannak vallja magát, állítása szerint csak új könyveihez keresett inspirációt, amikor a térfigyelő kamerák a tetthely környékén lefilmezték, az eltűnt pisztolyt, amely a rendőrség szerint a gyilkos fegyver, csak „kelléknek” vásárolta az íráshoz. Verziója szerint valaki más ölhette meg a férjét egy félresikerült rablásban.
A 2011-ben megjelent, Hogyan öljük meg a férjünket? arról szól, hogy egy feleség miként teheti el láb alól a férjét anélkül, hogy meggyűlne a baja az igazságszolgáltatással. A végkövetkeztetés szerint „a legfontosabb, amit egy gyilkosságról tudni kell, hogy mindenki képes rá, aki nagyon akarja”.
Noha az értekezés nagy feltűnést keltett, azt a bírósági tárgyalás során nem ismerték el bizonyítékként.
