Az ANA görög hírügynökség úgy tudja, a hajó – amely Leszbosztól mintegy 8 kilométerre délnyugatra süllyedt el – Egyiptomból indult, úticélja Isztambul volt, és sót szállított.
A legénység között két szíriai, négy indiai és nyolc egyiptomi állampolgár is van – tette hozzá az ANA.

A jelentés szerint Timcsenko az ukrán televízió non-stop háborús adásában elmondta: „Jelenleg több mint 26 ezer embert keresnek különleges körülmények közötti eltűntként Ukrajnában. Közülük 11 ezren civilek, és csaknem 15 ezren katonai állományúak.” Mint megjegyezte, a rendvédelmi szervek megfelelő nyilvántartást vezetnek, és minden eltűnt személyről adatokat rögzítenek. Ebben a Belügyminisztérium együttműködik a Nemzeti Rendőrséggel és a Védelmi Minisztérium hírszerzési főosztályával, amelyek a keresést koordinálják – tette hozzá. Beszámolt arról is, hogy csaknem 9 ezer család kapott kivonatot az egységes nyilvántartásból vagy eltűnt személyekről.
Szeptemberben a kormány módosította az eltűnt személyek felkutatásának eljárását. Korábban az Ideiglenesen Megszállt Területek Reintegrációs Minisztériuma foglalkozott a feladattal, most viszont ezt a Belügyminisztériumra bízták. Az eltűnt katonák felkutatását ugyanakkor az ukrán fegyveres erők vezérkara végzi. A hadsereg különleges csoportokat hoz létre, amelyeket a hadifoglyokkal való bánásmódért felelős koordinációs parancsnokságnak kell jóváhagynia.

A hatóságok huszonnégy embert mentettek ki a Hurricane elnevezésű hajóról, köztük 12 brit állampolgárságút.
„Az első jelentések szerint a tűz elektromos hiba miatt keletkezett” – közölték a mentés résztvevői.
A hajó búvárúton volt, és június 6-án indult Port Ghalibból, ahová vasárnap kellett volna visszatérnie. Az ügyészség vizsgálatot indított a halálesetek miatt.
„Ez egy nagyon rossz hír a turisztikai ágazatnak” – mondta Sally Nabil Nabil, a BBC News tudósítója. „A helyiek a turizmustól függnek, különösen a brit turistáktól” – tette hozzá.

Nyomtalanul eltűnt egy bárka ötszáz emberrel a fedélzetén a Földközi-tengeren – közölte pénteken az Emergency nevű olasz civil szervezet Milánóban.
A tájékoztatás szerint a szervezet Life Support nevű hajója az előző nap átkutatta azt a térséget, ahonnan segélyhívást adtak le. „Nehéz elhinni, hogy egyetlen parti hatóság sem tudja, hová lett ez az 500 ember” – hangsúlyozta az Emergency.
Az Emergency szerint a keresést a nemzetközi vizeken hajtották végre, Málta kutatási-mentési területén, de a csütörtök este beállt rossz idő miatt meg kellett szakítaniuk a keresést.
A civil szervezet szerint fennáll a lehetősége annak is, hogy a menedékkérők csoportját – köztük több várandós nőt és egy újszülöttet – visszavitték Líbiába, ahonnan számos hajó indul Európa felé. Ugyanakkor Tripoli tagadja, hogy ez történt volna. Csütörtökön az olasz parti őrség két bevetés során csaknem 1100 embert vett fedélzetre az Olaszországhoz tartozó kutató-mentő övezetben.

A CCTV televízió szerint a baleset kedd hajnalban, 3 óra körül történt. A legénységben 17 kínai, 17 indonéziai és öt Fülöp-szigeteki állampolgár van − közölte az AP hírügynökség.
Hszi Csin-ping kínai államfő és Li Csiang miniszterelnök utasította a külföldön tartózkodó kínai diplomatákat, valamint a mezőgazdasági és a közlekedési minisztériumot, hogy segítsenek a túlélők felkutatásában.
A kínai jelentések nem határozták meg az incidens pontos helyét, csak azt, hogy a Dél-Ázsiától és az Arab-félszigettől Kelet-Afrikáig és Ausztrália nyugati részéig húzódó hatalmas Indiai-óceán közepén történt.
A Fülöp-szigeteki parti őrség parancsnoki központja szerdán közölte, hogy figyelemmel kíséri a helyzetet, és egyeztet a manilai kínai nagykövetséggel, valamint a hajó utolsó ismert tartózkodási helye közelében működő kutató- és mentőcsapatokkal.
Kína vélhetően a világ legnagyobb halászflottáját üzemelteti. Sokan közülük hónapokig vagy akár évekig is a tengeren maradnak, kínai állami tengerbiztonsági ügynökségek és a támogató hajók kiterjedt hálózata által kiszolgálva.
Az elsüllyedés okáról nem közöltek semmit, bár az időjárás gyakran szerepet játszik az ilyen tragédiákban.
Mianmarban és Bangladesben jelenleg is folynak a helyreállítási munkálatok, miután az Indiai-óceán északi részén, a Bengáli-öböl mentén egy erős ciklon csapott le a partjaikra, amely nagymértékű pusztítást és legalább 21 halálos áldozatot követelt, több százan pedig eltűntek.

A hajótörést szenvedettek közül 34-en még mindig nem kerültek elő.
Az AFP számolt be arról, hogy felborult egy illegális bevándorlókat szállító hajó Tunézia partjainál pénteken, a hajón tartózkodó bevándorlók közül azonban 34 ember eltűnt.
Fawzi El Masmoudi, a szfaxi bíróság szóvivője arról jelentett, hogy csak négy bevándorlót sikerült kimenteni a vízből, további 34 embert pedig jelenleg is keresnek.
Hozzátette, a bevándorlók csütörtökön indultak útnak a part menti Sfax régióból, hogy Olaszországba jussanak.
Az olasz parti őrség csütörtökön közölte, hogy mintegy 750 bevándorlót mentettek ki két külön műveletben a dél-olasz partvidéken, néhány órával azután, hogy legalább öt ember meghalt, 33-an pedig eltűntek egy Tunéziából induló tengeri átkelési kísérlet során.
Faouzi Masmoudi tunéziai bíró a Reuters hírügynökségnek elmondta, hogy hét ember halt meg a hajó felborulásában Sfax város partjainál, köztük csecsemők és gyerekek.
Houssem Jebabli, a Nemzeti Gárda tisztviselője elmondta, hogy a parti őrség két nap alatt 56 Olaszország felé tartó hajót állított meg, és több mint 3000 migránst vett őrizetbe, főként a szubszaharai afrikai országokból.

A 65 éves Kevin Hyde-ot és a 76 éves Joe Ditomassót egy tartályhajó vette észre az Atlanti-óceánon, miután december 3-án kihajóztak Hyde Atrevida II nevű vitorlásával, és többé nem hallottak felőlük.
„Csoda, hogy egyáltalán megtaláltak minket” – mondta egyikük.
A vitorlás kifogyott az üzemanyagból és az árboca is eltört a viharban.
Az amerikai parti őrség nagyszabású kutató-mentő akciót indított, repülőgépek, helikopterek és hajók bevonásával, hogy Massachusetts-től Floridáig több mint 33 ezer négyzetkilométert vizsgáljanak át.
10 napkeresés után egy tartályhajó, a The Silver Muna találta meg az eltűnt vitorlást 350 kilométerre Delaware-től keletre – írta a FoxNews.
Az Atrevida II-ről kiderült, hogy kifogytak az üzemanyagból és így a rádió és a navigációs berendezések is működésképtelenné váltak.
A férfiakat és a kutyát a New York-i kikötőbe vitték, ahol a parti őrség újraegyesítette őket a családjukkal.

A földcsuszamlásokat a Julia hurrikánnal érkező heves esőzések miatt megáradt folyók okozták, elsősorban a Caracastól mintegy 60 kilométerre délnyugatra fekvő Las Tejerias környékén.
A venezuelai hatóságok hétfői tájékoztatása szerint legalább 34 halálos áldozata van az utóbbi évek legsúlyosabb természeti katasztrófájának, mintegy hatvanan pedig eltűntek.
Az 50 ezres lélekszámú Las Tejeriasban a sárral és törmelékkel borított utcákat munkagépekkel takarítják, miközben a mentőalakulatok drónokkal és kutyákkal kutatnak a túlélők után.
„Még mindig reméljük, hogy találunk olyan embereket, akiket meg tudunk menteni” – mondta a helyszínre érkezett Delcy Rodríguez alelnök.
A hatóságok szerint Las Tejeriasban 317 házat döntött romba a katasztrófa, további 750 ház pedig megrongálódott.
Nicolás Maduro venezuelai elnök vasárnap háromnapos gyászt rendelt el az országban, és mentőcsapatokat küldött a Caracast Valenciával összekötő út mellett fekvő Las Tejeriasba.
Maduro elmondta, hogy a hétvégi áradások az ország 11 államában okoztak károkat.
