Як поінформував речник дорожньої поліції Флориди Стів Гаскінс, автобус, який перевозив 53 робітників, зіткнувся з вантажівкою на північ від Орландо. Вісім із сорока постраждалих перебувають у важкому стані.
За словами речника, автобус з’їхав із дороги, врізався в огорожу й зупинився в полі, перевернувшись на бік. Робітники у цей час їхали на ферми Кеннон у Данеллоні на збір урожаю кавунів.

У Форт-Лодердейлі, штат Флорида, одна людина загинула, ще троє отримали травми в результаті падіння будівельного крана.
За даними влади, будівельна бригада саме займалася складанням конструкції крану, коли одна з платформ впала разом із частиною крана, повідомляє Reuters.
Судячи зі знімків з місця події, величезна металева конструкція впала на автомобіль, який якраз на той час рухався поруч, розтрощивши його передню частину.
Один із будівельників загинув внаслідок падіння із секцією крана.
Двох постраждалих доставили в лікарню, третьому надали допомогу на місці.
Що спричинило проблему, наразі невідомо. Триває розслідування.

У понеділок, 29 травня, у місті Голівуд у Флориді, США сталася масова стрілянина на побережжі. Внаслідок цього щонайменше дев’ять осіб зазнали поранень і були доставлені у лікарню. Серед них – четверо неповнолітніх.
Про це повідомило CBS News. Як зазначається, четверо неповнолітніх були віком від 1 до 17 років, вік постраждалих дорослих – від 25 до 65 років.
При цьому о 18:41 місцева камера в прямому ефірі зафіксувала, як люди тікають з місця події.
Офіційні обличчя Голівуду повідомили, що все почалося зі сварки між двома групами людей, яка переросла в стрілянину. Одну особу, яка представляє інтерес для поліції, вже затримали, ще одну – розшукують.
Кілька постраждалих були доставлені до Меморіальної регіональної лікарні та дитячої лікарні Джо Ді Маджіо. Свідки події також розповіли, що бачили дитину з вогнепальним пораненням ноги.
“Я бачив молодого чоловіка, який лежав на землі, кровоточив, і люди тиснули на нього, щоб запобігти кровотечі. Крім того, я бачив жінку, яка була дуже схвильована. Думаю, у неї була рана на нозі”, – розповів свідок Венс Хендрікс, який прибув із Філадельфії.
Мер Голлівуду Джош Леві також зробив заяву, де подякував екстреним службам, які швидко відреагували та прибули вчасно на місце події.

У США біля узбережжя Флориди розбився невеликий літак. Двоє людей загинули, ще одна особа вважається зниклою безвісти. Загиблі – жінка та дівчина-підліток, які були пасажирками, пошуки пілота тривають.
Приватний літак упав у Мексиканській затоці в суботу ввечері. На борту було троє людей. Поліція підтвердила загибель двох пасажирок, пілота шукають, інформує DailyMail.
Пошуки розпочалися в неділю вранці після отримання повідомлення про зникнення одномоторного літака Piper Cherokee. Через деякий час біля берегів Флориди рятувальники знайшли тіло жінки.
Близько другої години дня водолази виявили уламки літака, звідки дістали тіло неповнолітньої дівчини.
Пілот вважається зниклим безвісти, його пошук проводять кілька підрозділів рятувальної служби.
Триває розслідування обставин інциденту.

У п’ятницю вдень за місцевим часом ураган приніс руйнування й повені на узбережжя Південної Кароліни, але не таких масштабів, як на південному заході Флориди. Ураган «Ян» досяг берега Південної Кароліни зі швидкістю 112 кілометрів на годину і продовжує втрачати силу, рухаючись на північ.
Згідно з підсумковим звітом, станом на п’ятницю внаслідок шторму в кількох штатах залишилися без електропостачання близько двох мільйонів домогосподарств: у Флориді – 1,57 млн, у Північній Кароліні – 263 тис., у Південній Кароліні – 165 тис., у Південній Вірджинії – 52 тис.
У Флориді тривають порятунок людей, усунення та оцінка збитків. У Південній Кароліні також почали усувати наслідки шторму та підсумовувати збитки.
Тим часом губернатор Флориди рішуче попередив тих, хто спробує скористатися важкою ситуацією, спричиненою штормом. На своєму брифінгу в п’ятницю ввечері Рон ДеСантіс заявив, що Флорида є громадою правопорядку.
«Навіть не думайте про мародерство», – заявив він, додавши, що Флорида є «штатом Другої поправки», маючи на увазі положення Конституції США про право на самооборону.

У курортному американському штаті Флорида 2 липня зареєстрували рекордну з початку пандемії кількість нових хворих на COVID-19, яка перевищує 10 тис. випадків за день.
Про це повідомляє The Hill із посиланням на офіційну статистику, оприлюднену за підсумками минулої доби місцевою владою.
„У Флориді зареєстровано 10 109 нових випадків COVID-19 за середу (1 липня – ред.), що є найбільшим стрибком у штаті за один день”, – зазначили представники місцевої влади.
Зараз у Флориді – лише одному штаті на південному сході США – нараховується більше 169 тис. підтверджених хворих. Причому кількість летальних випадків станом на середу зросла до 3718. Флорида вважається одним із найбільш популярних місць курортного відпочинку в Сполучених Штатах, куди зараз, в умовах обмежень для авіасполучень, прагнуть потрапити американці.
Тим часом, подібна картина спостерігається в штатах Аризона, Каліфорнія, Північна Кароліна, Теннессі й Техас, також розташованих на півдні США.
Експерти пов’язують різке збільшення хворих з надто швидким відкриттям бізнесу.
