Legalább 25 ukrán újságírót tartanak fogva jelenleg Oroszországban – hozta nyilvánosságra szerdán Jaroszlav Jurcsisin, az ukrán parlament szólásszabadsággal foglalkozó bizottságának elnöke.
A képviselő hangsúlyozta, hogy a civilizált hadviselés szabályai szerint eleve nem lett volna szabad elfogni újságírókat, mert ők civilek, akik nem vesznek részt harci cselekményekben. Hangsúlyozta, hogy bizottsági elnöki munkájának egyik prioritása az újságírók jogainak védelme. Szerinte egyfelől szükséges a nemzetközi közösség lehető legnagyobb mértékű bevonása az újságírók szabadon bocsátására tett erőfeszítésekbe, másfelől a megfigyelő szervezetekkel és az újságírói szövetségekkel közösen elő kell készíteni a felelősségre vonás lehetőségét a nemzetközi bíróságokon a szólásszabadság és az újságírók ellen elkövetett bűncselekményekért.
Jurcsisin ugyanakkor megjegyezte: sajnos, nemcsak Oroszország akadályozza az újságírókat abban, hogy minőségi munkát végezzenek. Ukrajnában „csaknem nyolcvan százalékkal esett vissza az újságírók elleni bűncselekmények miatt indított nyomozások száma 2022-ben 2021-hez képest. Mindent meg lehet magyarázni a háborúval, de nekünk mint az európai közösséghez csatlakozó országnak, amelynek a szólásszabadság az egyik fő értéke, ezt semmiképpen nem szabad megengednünk” – szögezte le. Elmondta, hogy ebben a kérdésben a parlamenti bizottság már konzultációkat kezdett az ukrán belügyminisztériummal, és hamarosan felveszik a kapcsolatot az országos rendőrséggel és a főügyészséggel is. „A bizottságban meghallgatásokat fogunk tartani olyan esetek kivizsgálásáról, amelyekben akadályozták újságírók munkáját. Most 2023-ra várunk adatokat, hogy a tényleges aktuális információkról beszélhessünk” – tette hozzá.
Ihor Terehov, a kelet-ukrajnai Harkiv város polgármestere szerdán a Telegramon arról adott hírt, hogy az orosz erők az éjjel a megyeszékhely ágyúzása közben eltaláltak egy gyermektábort a város peremvidékén. Több épületben károk keletkeztek, de senki sem sebesült meg, mivel a tábor épp üres volt.

Kijev Sevcsenkói kerületi bírósága 2024. január 26-ig meghosszabbította Ihor Kolomojszkij üzletember előzetes letartóztatását 3,7 milliárd hrivnya alternatív óvadék ellenében, vált ismertté a november 28-i, keddi bírósági ülés közvetítéséből.
Az ülés során Kolomojszkij és ügyvédei azt kérték, hogy a megelőző intézkedést fogvatartásról házi őrizetre változtassák. Elmondása szerint az ukrán hatóságok júliusban azt közölték, hogy több mint 7000 ukrán katona tűnt el. Egy hónappal e bejelentés után kiderült, hányat találtak meg közülük orosz fogságban – tette hozzá. Az eltűnt személyekért felelős biztos jelezte, hogy a több mint 7000 eltűnt katona közül körülbelül 20-25 %-ot sikerült megtalálni. A fogvatartásukról először Amrulleh Saleh, Afganisztán korábbi alelnöke posztolt a Twitteren. Azt írta, hogy a tálibok kilenc nyugati állampolgárt tartanak fogva, köztük az említett két személyt.
