Többezres tüntető tömeg vonult fel szombaton a Habarovszki terület leváltott kormányzója, Szergej Furgal mellett, és tiltakozott az ellen, ahogy Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnök az ügyet kezeli.
Ez volt az egyik legnagyobb a harmadik hete tartó tüntetések közül a távol-keleti városban.
A népszerű Furgalt július 9-én tartóztatták le gyilkosság vádjával, és az államfői bizalom elvesztése címén hétfőn le is váltották hivatalából. Jelenleg Moszkvában van, előzetes letartóztatásban. A vád ellene az, hogy másfél évtizeddel korábban megszervezte két üzletember, Jevgenyij Zorja és Oleg Bulatov meggyilkolását, továbbá egy harmadik vállalkozó, Alekszandr Szmolszkij ellen is előkészített egy sikertelen merényletet. Ügyével kapcsolatban korábban már négy embert – egy banda tagjait – letartóztattak.
Furgal tagadja, hogy bármi ilyesmit elkövetett volna. A hívei szerint a vádat politikai okokból emelték ellene, azért, mert a legutóbbi, 2018-as kormányzóválasztáson legyőzte a kormánypárt, az Egységes Oroszország jelöltjét. Akkor a szavazatok 70 százalékát kapta meg.
A habarovszki hatóságok szerint szombaton mintegy 6500 ember vonult az utcákra, de a helyi sajtó egy része 20 ezer tiltakozóról írt. A menetről készült felvételeken hallatszik, hogy az emberek azt kiabálják, hogy ez „szégyen”, és hogy Putyin elnök mondjon le, mert a helybéliek elvesztették benne a bizalmukat.

Az FSZB szerint egy 32 éves férfi, egy meg nem nevezett közép-ázsiai ország állampolgára zsúlfolt helyeket szándékozott megtámadni gyújtószerkezetekkel a távol-keleti városban „nemzetközi terroristák bandavezéreinek utasítása alapján”. A gyanúsított telefonján videofelvételt találtak, amelyen felesküszik a terroristáknak, továbbá velük váltott üzeneteket, amelyek a tervezett bűncselekmény részletei tartalmazzák.
A férfitól gyújtófolyadékkal töltött palackokat és hidegfegyvert foglaltak le, valamint egy meg nem nevezett terrorszervezet zászlaját. A szolgálat arról is beszámolt, hogy a gyanúsított a terrorcselekmény elkövetése után a Közel-Keletre akart távozni, hogy ott csatlakozzon a terrorcsoportokhoz.
Alekszandr Bortnyikov, az FSZB igazgatója júliusban közölte, hogy Oroszországban az elmúlt tíz év során csaknem 160, tavaly pedig 43 terrorcselekményt sikerült megakadályozni.
A mintegy 600 ezres Habarovszkban egyébként július 10. óta minden este tüntetések voltak Szergej Furgal, az azonos nevű terület kormányzójának letartóztatása miatt. Furgalt azzal vádolják, hogy másfél évtizeddel ezelőtt megszervezett két sikeres és egy meghiúsult bérgyilkosságot, amelyet üzletemberek ellen hajtottak végre.
A Habarovszki terület hatóságai a koronavírus-járvány rosszabbra fordulására hivatkozva fontolóra vették a visszatérést a szigorúbb korlátozó intézkedésekhez. Az elmúlt nap folyamán 119-cel nőtt az igazolt fertőzöttek száma, ami a legnagyobb napi növekmény az orosz Távol-Keleten.
