Csütörtök reggel egy illegális bevándorlókat szállító autó szenvedett balesetet Brnaze közelében, Split-Dalmát megyében, melynek következtében négyen életüket vesztették – számolt be erről a Slobodna Dalmacija regionális napilap, írja az MTI.
A rendőrség közlése szerint egy lengyel rendszámú autó nagy sebességgel kisodródott az útról és egy falnak ütközött, a gépkocsiban kilenc személy tartózkodott. Négyen a helyszínen életüket vesztették, köztük egy 14 éves gyermek. A sérülteket a spliti kórházba szállították.
A spliti klinikai kórház az Index.hr című hírportálnak megerősítette, hogy intézményükben öt férfi került felvételre, mindegyik külföldi állampolgár. Négyen közülük súlyos testi sérüléseket szenvedtek, és jelenleg még a műtőben vannak.
A Slobodna Dalmacija információ szerint a gépkocsit egy idősebb férfi vezette. A rendőrök Trilje közelében próbálták megállítani, de figyelmen kívül hagyta a jelzéseket, majd több percen át menekült a hatóságok elől. Nagy sebességgel hajtott be egy útkereszteződésbe, majd elvesztette az uralmát a gépkocsi felett, és a falnak csapódott.
Egy helyszíni szemtanú a lapnak elmondta: nagy csattanást hallott, majd kifutott a házból és meglátta az összetört gépkocsit, amely zsúfolásig volt férfiakkal, akik hangosan jajveszékeltek. A kiérkezett tűzoltók a csomagtartón keresztül menekítették ki a sérülteket az autóból.

Vasárnap a ciprusi parti őrség mintegy 120 migránst mentett ki Ciprus partjai közelében.
A menedékkérők két bárkán érkeztek Libanonból – ismertette a helyi rendőrség szóvivője a RIK ciprusi közrádió műsorában. Mint mondta, az embereket halászhajók és járőrhajók fedélzetén vitték biztonságba.
A hatóságok szerint az érkező migránsok száma gyorsan tovább növekedhet, ugyanis a parti őrség radarjai további két – egyelőre azonosítatlan – hajót észleltek a távolban Libanon irányából Ciprus felé haladva.
A bevándorlókat a fővárostól, Nicosiától nyugatra található egyik menekülttáborba szállították. Többségük szíriai állampolgár.
Az uniós statisztikák szerint az EU-tagországok közül az utóbbi években lakosságarányosan Cipruson nyújtották be a legtöbb menedékkérelmet. A regisztrációs és befogadótáborok túlzsúfoltak a szigetország területén, most részben uniós forrásokból igyekeznek kibővíteni őket.

A dél-spanyolországi Andalúziában négy ember vesztette életét, akiket embercsempészek löktek a tengerbe egy motorcsónakról, majd elmenekültek – számolt be az esetről a hatóságok tájékoztatása alapján a spanyol sajtó csütörtökön.
A hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint a vízi járművön összesen 35-en utaztak, többségüket sikerült kimenteni a helyiek segítségével, akik a partról szemtanúi voltak a történteknek. A helyszíni beszámolók szerint a Cádiztól délre található Camposoto partszakaszon egy nagy sebességű motorcsónakból lökték ki, vagy kényszerítették vízbeugrásra az embereket.
Majd mintegy kilenc kilométerrel délebbre, a Sancti Petri nevű strandnál, ugyanez megismétlődött a még fedélzeten maradt nyolc emberrel.
Az illegális migránsok arról számoltak be, hogy az embercsempészek késsel fenyegették őket. Mentőmellényt nem kaptak, és sokan közülük nem tudtak úszni sem. Hárman kihűlés miatt kórházba kerültek.
A hatóságok szerint nem először fordult elő hasonló eset, de új jelenséggel állnak szemben; az ilyen típusú, nagy sebességű, motoros gumicsónakokat általában kábítószercsempészetre használják, de a térségben zajló, a drogkereskedelem felszámolására irányuló rendőrségi akciók hatására ezek a hálózatok úgy tűnik, hogy „diverzifikálják” tevékenységüket.
A spanyol belügyminisztérium kéthetente frissülő adatai szerint idén november közepéig 47 ezren érkeztek illegálisan az ország területére, 62 százalékkal többen mint tavaly ugyanebben az időszakban.
A legtöbben, 32 ezren az Atlanti-óceánban fekvő Kanári-szigeteken értek partot, kétszer annyian mint a múlt évben.
A nagy távolság és az erős áramlatok miatt ezt a migrációs útvonalat tartják a legveszélyesebbnek a spanyol hatóságok, ám épp ezért nehezebben is ellenőrizhető mint a Földközi-tenger nyugati szakasza.

Huszonketten meghaltak egy hajótörésben Madagaszkár partjainál, az emberek a francia fennhatóság alá tartozó Mayotte szigetére akartak eljutni – közölte vasárnap Madagaszkár kikötői hatósága.
A bárka, amelyen 47-en utaztak, szombaton szenvedett balesetet a Madagaszkár északi részén található Ankazomborona térségében. A tájékoztatás szerint a fedélzeten lévők közül 23 túlélő volt, 22 holttestet találtak, két másik embert pedig eltűntként tartanak számon.
Egy névtelenséget kérő rendőr szerint a megmentettek többsége később elmenekült, hogy ne kerüljenek a hatóságok kezére, amiért illegálisan próbáltak Mayotte szigetére jutni.
Március 10-én arról számoltunk be, hogy Tunázia partjainál szenvedett migránshajó balesetet, akkor legkevesebb 14 személy halt meg.

Bulgáriában holtan találtak 18 embert pénteken egy teherautóban – közölte a bolgár belügyminisztérium.
Az eset a Szófiától körülbelül 20 kilométerre fekvő Lokorszko község mellett történt: a rendőrséget a közelben lakók értesítették arról, hogy egy elhagyott kamionra lettek figyelmesek.
A teherautón mintegy 52 illegális migráns utazott a farakomány alatt rejtőzködve – olvasható a közleményben.
A 18 ember halálának oka egyelőre nem ismert, de nem közúti baleset következtében történt – tették hozzá.
A közlemény szerint a kamion utasai közül többen elmenekültek. Felkutatásukra nyomozást indított a bolgár rendőrség, a sérülteket pedig kórházba szállították.
Az Afganisztánból indult emberek néhány nappal korábban léptek Bulgária területére, egy létra segítségével másztak át a kerítéssel védett török-bolgár határon – mondta el újságíróknak Boriszlav Szafarov helyettes főügyész.
A tizennyolc halott között egy hat-hét év körüli gyermek is van. A harmincnégy túlélőt – közöttük öt gyermeket – kórházba szállították.
Aszen Medzsidiev egészségügyi miniszter az esettel kapcsolatban közölte: egyelőre nem tudja megmondani, mi okozta a bevándorlók halálát.
Talán nem volt elég oxigén, átfagytak és átáztak, minden bizonnyal napok óta nem ettek – mondta.
Bulgáriában 2022-ben jelentősen megnőtt az illegális bevándorlók száma annak ellenére, hogy a Törökországgal közös határt 234 kilométer hosszú kerítés védi.
A rendőrség szerint 2022-ben 164 ezer tiltott határátlépést akadályoztak meg az egy évvel korábbi 55 ezer után.

Egy hónap sem telt el azóta, hogy a belga kormánykoalíciót kis híján megbuktató migránsok éhségsztrájkja befejeződött, máris újra hallatnak magukról a brüsszeli hajléktalan, papírokkal nem rendelkező bevándorlók – V4NA nemzetközi hírügynökség.
Ezúttal ugyan kevesebben vannak és egyelőre éhségsztrájkot sem folytatnak, de számuk így is jelentős: 250 személy, túlnyomórészt észak-afrikai származású férfi, nő és gyermek vesz részt az akcióban, melynek keretében elfoglalták a fővárosi Kredietbank régi székházát.
Az épületet állítólag nyitva találták, mivel előzőleg önkényes lakásfoglalók tartózkodtak benne. A bank épületét a csoport a korábban hetekig elfoglalt fővárosi Béguinage templom mintájára semleges zónának nyilvánította. Emellett egy rögtönzött nagykövetséget is létesítettek az egykori székházban. A fővárosi templomot, valamint a VUB állami egyetem és az ULB brüsszeli szabadegyetem bizonyos épületeit a belga kormány nevezte ki semleges zónának, ahol a két hónapig éhségsztrájkoló több száz migráns intézhette az ügyeit.
A dokumentumokkal nem rendelkező migránsok az épület bejáratánál hatalmas feliratokat is elhelyeztek, melyek egyikén azt írják, hogy a Vivaldi elnevezésű kormánykoalíció megfeledkezett róluk. Egy másik feliraton pedig a követeléseiket közlik: a migránsok azt szeretnék elérni, hogy a kormány tartózkodási engedélyt és munkát biztosítson számukra.
Az eseményekről beszámoló Rtbf szerint a szóban forgó papír nélküli bevándorlók már huzamosabb ideje Belgiumban tartózkodnak. Van köztük olyan, aki már tíz éve vagy még több ideje Brüsszelben él és dolgozik, ám tisztában vannak vele, hogy nem túl jók az esélyeik. Ezért azt a stratégiát választották, hogy a Brüsszel és Molenbeek határán lévő kerületben telepednek le és megpróbálják maguk mellé állítani a környék lakóit, ily módon kívánják megmutatni a szövetségi kormánynak, hogy jelen vannak, szerveződnek és eltökéltek az ügyük érvényesítésében.
Elmondásuk alapján tartózkodási engedélyt és legális munkát szeretnének. Annak ellenére, hogy nem rendelkeznek dokumentumokkal, többségük dolgozik ugyan, de bizonytalan munkakörülmények között, nagyon alacsony bérekért és szociális juttatásokat sem kapnak, ezért szeretnék, hogy a belga kormány legalizálja őket.
