Офіційні особи США заявили, що один із постраждалих американців зазнав серйозних поранень.
За словами співрозмовників в іракських службах безпеки, дві ракети типу «Катюша» були випущені по авіабазі Аль-Асад на заході Іраку – ракети впали на територію авіабази.

У вівторок, 16 липня, два бойових дрони поцілили в авіабазу Айн аль-Асад, що на заході Іраку. Там розміщені військові США та інші міжнародні сили, повідомили Reuters два джерела в іракській армії.
Зазначається, що жертв та втрат серед американської армії внаслідок атаки не зафіксували. Це вже другий напад на війська США в Іраку з початку лютого. У квітні біля бази Айн аль-Асад збили два безпілотники, додає Reuters.
Іракський військовий чиновник сказав, що системи оборони збили один безпілотник поблизу периметра бази. Навколо неї посилять патрулювання армійські патрулі Іраку, аби запобігти можливим подальшим атакам.
Напад стався менш ніж за тиждень до візиту іракської військової делегації високого рівня до Вашингтона. В американській столиці очікується продовження переговорів про припинення військової коаліції під проводом США в країні.

У своєму дописі глава держави також зауважив, що атака спричинила перебої в місцевому електропостачанні. За даними операторів, виробництво електроенергії скоротилося на 2500 мегават.
Радник прем’єр-міністра Іракського Курдистану повідомив агентству Reuters, що в результаті атаки безпілотника загинуло четверо іноземних робітників. Курдський регіональний уряд наголосив у своїй заяві, що загиблі були вихідцями з Ємену.
Два найбільші родовища природного газу в Іраку, Хор Мор і Хемчемаль, експлуатуються консорціумом Pearl, до якого входять Crescent Petroleum, зареєстрована в Об’єднаних Арабських Еміратах, і Dana Gas PJSC.
Поки що ніхто не взяв на себе відповідальність за удар безпілотника.

Іракська зірка Ом Фахад була застрелена біля свого будинку у Багдаді 26 квітня.

Міністерство внутрішніх справ Іраку підтвердило в заяві, що “жінка, відома на сайтах соціальних мереж”, була вбита “невідомими нападниками”. Для розслідування злочину створили спеціалізовану робочу групу.
Фахад, справжнє ім’я якої Гуфран Саваді, застрелили у власному авто. Вбивця – невідома людина, яка під’їхала до автомобіля жінки на мотоциклі.
Джерело в службах безпеки Іраку повідомило агентству AFP, що нападник, ймовірно, вдав із себе доставщика їжі.
Тим часом американське інформаційне агентство Al Hurra повідомило, що унаслідок нападу на блогерку поранень зазнала ще одна жінка.
Фахад стала відомою в TikTok завдяки публікації відео, на яких вона танцює під попмузику в облягаючому одязі. На неї підписались десятки тисяч користувачів.
Минулого року її засудили до шести місяців ув’язнення за поширення відео, які, на думку суду, підривають “скромність і суспільну мораль”.
Також відомо, що нещодавно між Фахад та іншою іракською знаменитістю Далією Наїм – яку називають “іракською барбі” виник конфлікт. Остання погрожувала, що розповість про ймовірні стосунки Фахад з високопосадовцями Іраку.

У суботу, 20 січня, в Іраку атакували авіабазу Айн аль-Асад, на якій перебувають американські військові. Декілька військовослужбовців отримали поранення.
Про це пише The Sun.
У виданні пишуть, що за словами джерел у сфері оборони США, авіабаза була атакована щонайменше дюжиною ракет або артилерійськими снарядами. При цьому 13 ракет або снарядів були збиті засобами протиповітряної оборони.
Відзначають, що сьогодні приблизно 2 500 американських військових знаходяться в Іраку і близько ще 900 в Сирії.
«Початкова інформація вказує на те, що база була вражена балістичними ракетами, але не виключено, що база була вражена артилерійськими снарядами. Це сталося після того, як сили Центрального командування США знищили протикорабельну пускову установку єменських хуситів, яка була націлена на район Аденської затоки», – додають у повідомленні.

У північній іракській провінції Ніневія щонайменше 113 людей загинули і понад 150 отримали поранення внаслідок пожежі, яка спалахнула на святкуванні весілля. Причиною пожежі, за попередньою інформацією, став запуск феєрверку.
Про це повідомляють BBC та Al Jazeera.
Губернатор провінції Наджим аль-Джубурі попередив, що остаточних даних про втрати внаслідок пожежі поки що немає, і кількість загиблих все ще може зрости. За попередньою інформацією, молодята є серед загиблих.
Представник управління охорони здоров’я повідомив, що щонайменше 50 постраждалих перебувають у критичному стані: «Більшість поранених були повністю обпалені. А в деяких було обпалено від 50 до 60 відсотків тіла». Більшість постраждалих – молоді чоловіки та жінки.
У цивільній обороні Іраку заявили, що пожежу міг викликати феєрверк, використаний під час святкування: «Попередня інформація вказує на те, що під час весілля використовувався феєрверк, що спровокувало пожежу у залі».
Причиною такого сильного займання стали легкозаймисті матеріали, використані для будівництва залу для заходів. Крім того, у будівлі не було вжито належних заходів безпеки.
«Пожежа призвела до обвалення деяких частин стелі через використання легкозаймистих та недорогих будівельних матеріалів», — йдеться у заяві органів цивільної оборони.
Прем’єр-міністр Іраку Мухаммед Шіа аль-Судані наказав провести розслідування обставин пожежі.
