A miniszterelnök elmondta, mélységesen megdöbbentette az, ami történt, de egyelőre nincs arról információ, hogy pontosan mi történt, mi okozta a detonáció, mely szinte azonnal végezhetett a katonákkal. A helyszínről érkezett fotókon súlyosan megrongálódott épületeket látni, amik parázslottak, és legalább az egyiknek hiányzott a teteje.
Órási lehetett a robbanás, és úgy tudni, hogy négy épület teljesen megsemmisült, illetve több katonai jármű szintén megrongálódott. Az AP azt írja, hogy a 25 főt számláló faluban található otthonok szintén megrongálódtak a robbanás hatására.
Lehetséges, hogy a magas levegő-hőmérséklet generálta a detonációt, és a folyamat már korábban beindult. Egy közeli lakos arról számolt be, hogy az első robbanást 14 óra 30 perc körül lehetett hallani, ami nagy volt, majd egy órán át kisebb robbanások rázták meg a környéket.
A miniszterelnök nemcsak részvétét fejezte ki a katonák családjaiknak, hanem ígéretet tette arra, hogy állják a temetésüket, és kárpótlást fizetnek a halottak, valamint a sérültek után. A háttérben zajlik a nyomozás, hogy kiderítsék, pontosan mi okozhatta a detonációt, és annak lehet-e emberi felelőse.

Öt civil halt meg két robbanószerkezet véletlen robbanásának következtében Kambodzsában. Az ország tűzszerészeti központja aktívan küzd a hátramaradt taposóaknák és veszélyes lőszerek felszámolásával, de a véletlenül felrobbanó szerkezetek még mindig komoly veszélyt jelentenek a lakosokra.
Öt ember halálát okozta két robbanószerkezet véletlenül történt robbanása Kambodzsában.
A hatóságok közölték, hogy szombaton egy család fenyőgyantát gyűjtött az erdőben, amikor felrobbant egy gránát.
A robbanásban négy ember meghalt, egy négyéves kislány és az édesanyja megsebesült.
A kézi B-41-es rakétavető gránát feltehetően az 1980-as évekből származott – közölte Heng Ratana, a kambodzsai tűzszerészeti központ főigazgatója, hozzátéve, hogy egyelőre nem tudni, mi hozta működésbe a szerkezetet.

Az aktív aknamentesítési program ellenére számos veszélyes lőszer maradt a talajban, fenyegetést jelentve a helyiekre.
A hatóságok szerint 1979 januárja és 2024 februárja között 19 822 halálos áldozatot követeltek a háborúból megmaradt felrobbanó taposóaknák és más robbanószerkezetek. Becslések szerint mintegy 4–6 millió akna és egyéb fel nem robbant lőszer maradt az ország területén az 1998-ban véget ért gerillaháború után.

Legkevesebb hét ember életét vesztette, több tucat pedig megsérült a nyugat-kambodzsai Poipet városának egyik kaszinójában keletkezett tűzben.
A tűz szerda éjfél körül keletkezett a Poipet városában található Grand Diamond City Casinóban – közölte a helyi rendőrség. A tűzben meghalt egyik áldozat thai állampolgár volt, 32 thaiföldi személyt pedig kórházban ápolnak – közölte Parinya Phothisat, a thaiföldi Sa Kaeo tartomány kormányzója.
Ötvenhárom ember megsérült, nyolcan pedig eltűntek. A közösségi médiában terjedő felvételeken az látható, hogy többen is az ablakokon keresztül próbáltak menekülni az égő épületből.
Ennek ellenére rengetegen rekedtek a lángok között, bár a katasztrófavédelem emberei és tűzoltók is megpróbáltak mindenkit kimenteni. A tűz a kaszinó konyhájában keletkezett. John Sagun a Holiday Palace Hotelben dolgozik, amely a Grand Diamond City Casino mögött található.
A Sky News megkeresésére elmondta: először azt hitte, hogy az ő munkahelye gyulladt ki, a kollégái mondták később, hogy a Grand Diamondban keletkezett a tűz. John Sagun elmondása szerint a Grand Diamondban volt egy Sky Bar a 17. emeleten, ahol nagyjából 40-50 ember ragadt fent.

Szellemhajót sodort a partra a víz Kambodzsában, a közelben három mentőmellényt is találtak.
Egy hatalmas elhagyatott, lepukkant hajót fedeztek fel július 12-én Tang-szigetnél, a Sihanoukville tartomány partjainál.
A felfedezést követő napon a hatóságok átvizsgálták a környéket, de senkit sem találtak, kivéve három mentőmellényt a parton, 50 méterre a hajótól, aminek fedélzetére egyelőre az időjárási viszonytagságok miatt nem tudtak feljutni. A kísérteties hajót addig magára hagyják, míg az idő el nem csendesedik.
A helyi partiőrség is megszólalt az ügyben, akik nem tudják azonosítani, hogy honnan érkezhetett a hajó, ahogy arról sincs információjuk, hogy a közelmúltban eltűnt volna-e egy komplett legénység.

Már négy évet ült börtönben, de további fél évnyi szabadságvesztés vár arra a nőre, aki a politikai demonstráció látványos formája mellett döntött.
A gyári munkásként dolgozó Sam Sokha egyértelműen kifejezésre juttatta, hogy mennyire elégedetlen Kambodzsa miniszterelnökével. Hun Szennel azáltal, hogy cipővel dobta meg az egyik plakátját.
A nő ezt követően Thaiföldre menekült, ám annak ellenére, hogy még menekültstátuszt is kapott, letartóztatták és Kambodzsába szállították, ahol bíróság elé került és ott letöltendő szabadságvesztés büntetésre ítélték 2018-ban.
Négy év eltelt és Sokha ismét a bíróság előtt találta magát, a bíró azonban most úgy döntött, szabadon engedi a nőt – derül ki a Radio Free Asiabeszámolójából. Nem feltétel nélkül viszont: 10 millió riel (760 ezer forint) bírság megfizetésére kötelezték.
Ráadásul a bíró közölte, vagy másnap befizeti a bírságot, vagy további fél évre visszamegy a börtönbe. A kambodzsai bíró ráadásul közölte azt is, hogy egyetlen telefonhívásba fog neki kerülni Sokhát visszaküldeni a börtönbe, illetve figyelmeztette, hogy nem tud elmenekülni.
Sokha esete remekül illusztrálja, hogy a már 35 éve hatalmon lévő Hun Szen mennyire keményen leszámolt a politikai ellenvéleménnyel. Éppen akkor, amikor ez az eset történt, a Legfelsőbb Bíróság betiltotta a legnagyobb kambodzsai ellenzéki párt működését, mely miatt Szenék 100 százalékos győzelmet arattak a választásokon.
Karanténba zárt dolgozóknak adtak alkoholt annak érdekében, hogy fertőtlenítsenek vele – ehelyett inkább felöntötték vízzel és üdítővel, majd megitták.
Az alkoholos baleset Kambodzsában történt, amelynek következtében legalább heten vesztették életüket – számolt be róla az ABC News.
A munkások Thaiföldről tértek vissza, a helyi járványügyi szabályok szerint pedig karanténtáborba kellett vonulnia az ország északnyugati részén.
Ennek során a szobájuk fertőtlenítéséhez kapták az alkoholt, ami végül elfogyasztásra került és amely végül az életüket követelte.
Rajtuk kívül még legalább 12 ember került kórházba, akik főként fejfájására, szédülésre és nehézlégzésre panaszkodtak elfogyasztását követően.
