Az orosz hírszerzés tevékenységéhez nyújtott segítség címén emeltek vádat csütörtökön egy brit férfi ellen. A Scotland Yard tájékoztatása szerint az illető a 64 éves Howard Michael Phillips, akit egy hete vettek őrizetbe Londonban.
A rendőrségi beszámoló szerint az őrizetbe vételhez és a vádemeléshez „megelőző jellegű” vizsgálat vezetett, amelyet a Scotland Yard terrorizmusellenes parancsnoksága végzett a nemzetbiztonsági törvény harmadik cikkelyének megsértése gyanújával.
A törvény e cikkelye a hivatalos meghatározás szerint olyan magatartás esetén tesz lehetővé vádemelést, amelynek valószínűsíthető célja valamely külföldi hírszerző szolgálat tevékenységének érdemi elősegítése információk, tárgyak, szolgáltatások vagy pénzügyi haszonszerzést szolgáló eszközök közvetlen vagy közvetett átadásával.
A Scotland Yard csütörtöki ismertetése szerint a Phillips elleni vádemelést Oroszország javára végzett tevékenység gyanúja alapozta meg.
A tájékoztatás szerint a nyomozók több helyen házkutatásokat is tartottak. A rendőrség hangsúlyozza, hogy az ügy nem kötődik olyan közelmúltbeli vádemelésekhez vagy vizsgálatokhoz, amelyekhez szintén a nemzetbiztonsági törvény megsértésének gyanúja vezetett.
Több incidens is történt Nagy-Britanniában
Nemrégiben öt ember ellen emeltek vádat Nagy-Britanniában Oroszország javára megkísérelt ellenséges cselekedetek – köztük egy ukrán tulajdonú angliai kereskedelmi ingatlan felgyújtása – címén.
A minap a brit kormány kiutasította Oroszország londoni nagykövetségének védelmi attaséját, megvonta több orosz tulajdonú angliai ingatlan diplomáciai státusát, és korlátozásokat vezetett be az orosz állampolgároknak adott diplomáciai vízumokra, felső határt szabva például az orosz diplomaták nagy-britanniai tartózkodási időtartamára.
Az orosz védelmi attasé kiutasítását a londoni külügyminisztérium tájékoztatása szerint az indokolta, hogy a diplomata az orosz katonai hírszerzés tagja volt. E hét elején pedig holtan találtak Angliában egy volt brit tengerészgyalogost, akit a kínai irányítású hongkongi hírszerzés javára végzett kémkedéssel vádoltak.
A vád szerint a 37 éves Matthew Trickett – aki a londoni belügyminisztérium bevándorlási részlegén dolgozott és korábban hat évig a brit királyi tengerészgyalogság katonája volt – Nagy-Britanniában tevékenykedő hongkongi ellenzéki aktivistákról gyűjtött információkat. Halálának okát a rendőrség még vizsgálja – adta hírül az MTI.

Meghalt egy gyermek abban a támadásban, amelyet kedden Londonban követett el egy karddal felfegyverkezett férfi.
Stuart Bell főfelügyelő, a Scotland Yard területileg illetékes parancsnoka kedd délutáni sajtótájékoztatóján közölte, hogy a halálos áldozat egy 13 éves fiú, aki kórházba szállítása után vesztette életét. Bell megerősítette, hogy a támadás helyszínéről, a londoni belvárostól 20 kilométerre északkeletre fekvő Hainault kerületből a gyerekkel együtt öt sebesültet vittek kórházba, köztük két rendőrt.
Egyikük állapota sem életveszélyes, de a két rendőr súlyos sebek miatt műtéti beavatkozásra szorult. Bell elmondta: a 36 éves gyanúsítottat az első bejelentés után 22 perccel, elektromos sokkoló alkalmazásával elfogták.
A rendőrtiszt megerősítette azt is, hogy a Scotland Yard eddigi vizsgálata alapján a támadás nem terrorcselekmény volt.
Hozzátette: nem célzott támadásról volt szó, a rendőrség nem tart attól, hogy a helyi közösséget további veszély fenyegetné, és az őrizetbe vett férfin kívül nem keres más gyanúsítottat az ügyben. Nem válaszolt ugyanakkor arra a kérdésre, hogy a gyanúsítottnak volt-e már dolga a rendőrséggel.
A Scotland Yard nem sokkal korábbi hivatalos tájékoztatásában is kiemelte, hogy az incidensnek nincs köze a terrorizmushoz. Az első beszámolóban szerepelt az is, hogy a gyanúsított a brit főváros északkeleti határában, a belvárostól 20 kilométerre fekvő Hainault negyedben járművével egy épületnek hajtott, majd több embert megszúrt.
A rendőrségi ismertetés szerint az illető, aki egy karddal volt felfegyverkezve, ezután másokat is megtámadott; köztük volt a két rendőr is, aki elsőként érkezett a helyszínre a bejelentés után. A közeli Hainault metróállomást és a környező utcákat a rendőrség kedd délután is zárva tartotta, de a mentők már elvonultak a helyszínről.

Elszabadult katonalovak okoztak személyi sérüléseket és anyagi károkat szerdán London belvárosában.
Az incidens a brit főváros leglátogatottabb, turistákkal zsúfolt belső negyedében történt.
A szerda délutánig elhangzott hatósági beszámolók szerint a Household Cavalry – vagyis a brit hadsereg egyik elitalakulata, a királyi családhoz kötődő rendezvényeken is gyakorta szereplő udvari lovasság – öt lova szabadult el és vágtatott végig a londoni belvároson, levetve lovasaikat.
Az egység a Buckingham-palota – III. Károly király első számú londoni hivatala – közelében, a Belgravia városrészben végzett gyakorlatokat, amikor a lovak valószínűleg egy építkezés zajától megijedve megvadultak.
Matt Woodward alezredes, a Household Cavalry lovassági ezredének parancsnoka szerda esti nyilatkozatában elmondta: nagy magasságból építési anyagok zuhantak közvetlenül a gyakorlatozó alakulat mellé, és emiatt az egység lovai ijedt vágtatásba kezdtek.
A hétfős lovas alakulat az uralkodó júniusban esedékes hivatalos születésnapi ceremóniája, a Trooping the Colour rendezvényeinek előzetes próbáira készült.
Az egységből elszabadult öt ló London zsúfolt belvárosi utcáin végigvágtatva embereket sodortak el és járművekben – köztük egy városnéző buszban – okoztak jelentős károkat.
A londoni mentőszolgálat szerda esti beszámolója szerint három helyszínről négy sérültet kellett kórházba szállítani. Hárman közülük katonák, akik leestek a megbokrosodott lovakról, a negyedik sérült egy civil kerékpáros.
A mentők szerint egyikük állapota sem életveszélyes.
Az öt lovat délutánig sikerült ismét befogni. Többet közülük járókelők állítottak meg.
Az incidens közben legalább két ló is megsérült. A közösségi médiában megjelent felvételeken látszik, hogy az egyik ló testét vér borította.
A londoni tűzoltóság szerda esti beszámolója szerint az elszabadult lovakat drónok segítségével kutatták fel. Az egyiket csaknem tíz kilométerre az incidens helyszínétől, London keleti részében találták meg.
A brit hadsereg ismertetése szerint a Household Cavalry különösen nagytermetű, erős lovakból válogatja állományát, mivel az alakulat lovai rendszerint nehéz menetfelszerelésű katonákkal a hátukon vesznek részt hosszú ideig tartó ceremóniákon.

A Metropolitan Police közlése szerint vasárnap hajnalban riasztották a mentőket és a rendőröket a Tottenham Hotspur stadionja előtti Northumberland Parkba, ahol egy férfit találtak több szúrt sérüléssel. Noha a hatóságok és a mentők gyorsan a helyszínre siettek, és megpróbálták újraéleszteni a férfit, már nem tudtak segíteni rajta, s a helyszínen halottnak nyilvánították.
A Met Police közlése szerint tudni vélik, hogy ki az áldozat, s azon dolgoznak, hogy elérjék hozzátartozóit és tájékoztassák őket a tragédiáról. A Metro értesülései szerint a rendőrség és a törvényszéki nyomozók lezárták a környéket és sokáig a helyszínen tartózkodtak.
Egyelőre keveset tudni az incidensről, melynek kapcsán Stephen Johnston-Keay főfelügyelő a lakossághoz szólva megosztotta:

Egy nőt fejen, egy férfit pedig nyakon lőtt számszeríjjal valakit a brit fővárosban, a két eset kapcsolódik.
Két embert is számszeríjjal lőtt meg egy támadó Londonban – írja a BBC. Az első áldozat egy 44 éves nő volt, akit március 4-én talált fejen egy számszeríjlövedék. A második áldozat egy húszéves férfi volt, aki a nyakán sérült meg. A két helyszín mindössze 60 méterre van egymástól, ezért a rendőrség szerint ugyanaz lehetett az elkövető.
Mindkét áldozatot kórházba szállították, szerencsére nem szenvedtek életveszélyes sérüléseket, és már mindkettőjüket hazaengedték.
A rendőrség közölte, hogy igyekeznek minél hamarabb megtalálni a gyanúsítottat, és annyi erőforrást mozgósítani ehhez, amennyit csak lehet. Arra bíztatták a helyi lakosokat, hogy a megszokott módon éljék továbbra is az életüket, „bármennyire is nehéz lehet”. Emellett arra kérték az embereket, hogy legyenek óvatosak, és jelezzenek bármit, ami aggodalomra ad okot.

Százezrek tüntettek szombaton Londonban a palesztinok mellett és a Gázai övezetben zajló izraeli hadműveletek ellen. A rendőrség több tüntetőt őrizetbe vett.
Hetek óta ez volt messze a legnagyobb palesztinpárti tüntetés a brit fővárosban.
A rendőrség kora estig nem tett közzé létszámbecslést, de a főszervező, a Palestine Solidarity Campaign nevű szolidaritási kampánycsoport közölte, hogy becslése szerint 250 ezren vettek részt a megmozduláson.
A demonstrációt 1500 rendőr biztosította.
A Scotland Yard közölte, hogy tíz résztvevőt őrizetbe vett, köztük egy férfit, aki antiszemita tartalmú plakátot tartott a magasba.
Az ő őrizetbe vételére érkező rendőrökre a tüntetők rátámadtak, és közülük többet szintén őrizetbe vettek.
Nem sokkal korábban egy férfit azzal a gyanúval vettek őrizetbe, hogy a nála lévő plakát felirata betiltott szervezet támogatására utalt.
A brit kormány három évvel ezelőtt terrorszervezetté nyilvánította a Gázai övezetet uraló Hamászt. A brit terrorellenes törvény alapján 14 évig terjedő szabadságvesztéssel sújthatók, akik terrorszervezetnek minősített csoportokhoz csatlakoznak, e csoportokat bármilyen módon támogatják vagy másokat ilyen csoportok támogatására biztatnak.
Három másik tüntetőt azért vettek őrizetbe, mert a rendőrségi felszólítás ellenére nem voltak hajlandók eltávolítani az arcukat takaró maszkot.
A brit kormány épp a napokban terjesztett az alsóház elé egy olyan törvénytervezetet, amely elfogadása esetén megtiltja a maszkok viselését és pirotechnikai eszközök használatát a tüntetéseken. Az indítvány szerint egy hónapig terjedő szabadságvesztéssel és ezer font (csaknem 460 ezer forint) bírsággal sújthatók mindazok, akik a demonstrációkon arcukat eltakaró viseletet hordanak és pirotechnikai eszközöket használnak.
A szombati demonstráció engedélyezett útvonala megközelítette Izrael londoni nagykövetségét, de a Scotland Yard előre közölte, hogy a tüntetőknek legalább száz méter távolságot kell tartaniuk a diplomáciai képviselet épületegyüttesétől. A rendőrség felhívta a megmozdulás résztvevőinek figyelmét arra, hogy aki belép a nagykövetség köré vont biztonsági kordon területére, azonnali őrizetbe vételre számíthat.
A Hamász Izrael ellen elkövetett október 7-i terrortámadása és az erre válaszul Gázában indított izraeli hadműveletek kezdete óta rendszeresek Londonban a palesztinpárti tömegtüntetések, amelyeken gyakran százezrek vesznek részt.
A Hamász támadásában 1200 ember meghalt, több mint háromezren megsérültek, és a terrorszervezet Gázába hurcolt 240 túszt, akik közül sokan még mindig fogságban vannak.

Hajtóvadászat indult Londonban egy olyan férfi után, aki maró hatású vegyi anyaggal támadt rá egy 31 éves nőre és két kisgyerekére – írja a Reuters.
A támadás még szerda este történt a dél-londoni Claphamben. Az anya és a kisebbik, 3 éves lánya is élethosszig tartó sérüléseket szenvedett, de a nagyobbik, 8 éves lánya is megsérült.
A nő és gyermekei segítségére sietők, három másik nő és egy férfi, valamit a helyszínre kiérkező öt rendőr is könnyebb égési sérüléseket szenvedett a maró anyagtól a helyszínen.
A gyanúsított egy 35 éves férfi, Abdul Shokoor Ezedi afgán bevándorló. Az ügy politikai témává is vált, miután a sajtóban megjelent, hogy a férfi annak ellenére kapott menedékjogot az Egyesült Királyságban, hogy korábban szexuális zaklatásért elítélték.
A rendőrség nem kommentálta a gyanúsított előéletére vonatkozó híresztelést.
Jon Savell rendőrparancsnok ugyanakkor azt mondta, hogy a támadásról készült felvételek alapján Ezedi is komolyan megsérült, orvosi segítségre lehet szüksége. Erre hivatkozva azt üzente a támadónak, hogy „cselekedjen helyesen és adja fel magát a rendőrségen”.

Tízezrek tüntettek vasárnap Londonban az antiszemitizmus ellen. A demonstráció főszervezője, a Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) nevű civil szervezet vasárnap este közölte, hogy becslése szerint 60 ezren vettek részt a megmozduláson.
Több más közéleti személyiséggel együtt jelen volt Sir Ephraim Mirvis, a 300 ezres lélekszámúra becsült brit zsidó közösség országos főrabbija, valamint Boris Johnson volt konzervatív párti brit miniszterelnök.
Johnson újságíróknak a tüntetés után úgy fogalmazott: rendkívül sajnálatos, hogy a demonstrációra egyáltalán szükség volt, de „az antiszemitizmus spórái jelenleg is tenyésznek korhadt padlódeszkák alatt, ahonnan időről időre előjönnek és fertőznek”.
A CAA a tüntetéssel egy időben nyilvánosságra hozta legfrissebb, 3744 ember bevonásával készült felmérésének eredményét, amely szerint a Gázai övezetet uraló Hamász iszlamista terrorcsoport Izrael ellen október 7-én elkövetett támadása óta a brit zsidók csaknem kétharmada tapasztalt személyesen ellene irányuló antiszemita incidenseket, vagy tanúja volt ilyen indíttatású támadásoknak.
A Hamász fegyveresei az októberi terrortámadásban 1200 embert meggyilkoltak, háromezret megsebesítettek, 240 túszt a Gázai övezetbe hurcoltak.
Az antiszemitizmus ellen küzdő kampányszervezet vizsgálata szerint a brit zsidó lakosság 69 százaléka nevezte „a korábbinál kevésbé valószínűnek” olyan ruházat és ékszerek viselését, amelyek viselőjük zsidó mivoltára utalnak.
A válaszadók fele mondta azt, hogy fontolóra vette a kivándorlást Nagy-Britanniából az antiszemitizmus erősödése miatt.
A brit zsidó közösség védelmére alakult civil biztonsági szervezet, a Community Security Trust (CST) ugyancsak friss összesítésében közölte, hogy a Hamász október 7-i támadása és november 22. között 1563 antiszemita indíttatású incidensről szerzett tudomást.
A CST szerint ez 546 százalékos emelkedés a tavalyi azonos időszakhoz képest. A szervezet hangsúlyozza: még nem volt példa másfél hónap leforgása alatt ilyen nagyszámú antiszemita támadásra Nagy-Britanniában azóta, hogy az erről szóló adatok rendszeres gyűjtése 1984-ben elkezdődött.
A Hamász támadása után Izrael által indított gázai hadművelet kezdete óta minden szombaton százezres tüntetéseket rendezett Londonban a palesztinok mellett a Palestine Solidarity Campaign nevű szolidaritási kampánycsoport és a Stop the War nevű háborúellenes civil mozgalom.
A most szombati tüntetésen a Scotland Yard 18 embert őrizetbe vett.
A Hamász támadása óta a vasárnapi tüntetés volt ugyanakkor az első olyan megmozdulás, amelyet az antiszemitizmus elleni tiltakozásul tartottak Londonban.
