Kiderült, hogy három álarcos férfi tört be a Louvre-ba röviddel a nyitás után ma reggel. Állítólag egy felújítási munkálatokhoz használt külső liftet használtak, hogy feljussanak az Apollo Galériába, a galéria Szajna felőli oldalán. Ebben a díszes szobában őrzik Franciaország koronaékszereinek maradványait.
A tolvajok ablakokat törtek be, hogy bejussanak, majd kilenc ékszert vittek el Napóleon és a császárné ékszergyűjteményéből.
A látogatók és a személyzet biztonságban vannak, de a múzeum bezárása jelentős fennakadást okozott a turisták körében. A kormány ígéretet tett arra, hogy megerősítik az ország nagy kulturális intézményeinek védelmét. A múzeum vezetése egyelőre nem közölte, mikor nyitják meg újra a kapukat. A francia sajtó szerint az ügy komoly biztonsági kérdéseket vet fel a nemzeti kincsek védelmével kapcsolatban.

A Derniere Renovation csoport tüntetői festékkel töltött lufikkal dobálták meg az üvegpiramist.
Az aktivisták megjelenése és az üvegpiramis megrongálása után a helyszíni biztonsági személyzet azonnal intézkedésbe kezdett, melynek következtében 12 aktivistát őrizetbe vettek.
Az interneten terjedő felvételek tanúsága szerint volt, aki majdnem az üvegpiramis tetejéig felmászott, hogy onnan festékkel öntse le a piramist, míg a többiek lentről dobálták rá a festékkel töltött lufikat.
A csoportnak nem ez volt az első hasonló akciója, ugyanis egy tagjuk 2022 júniusában a Roland Garros egyik mérkőzésén a hálóhoz kötözte magát, de okoztak már fennakadásokat a Tour de France egyik szakaszán és a párizsi Levallois gyaloghídon is.
A csoport hitvallása, hogy most az egyszerű állampolgárokon múlik, hogy eredményeket érjenek el olyan területeken, ahol a politikusok csak ígérgetésig jutottak. Az aktivisták legutóbbi kérése az épületek hőszigetelésének támogatása és elkezdése volt, amit idén bocsátott vitára a kormány, és ami a tervek szerint 2024-ben akár teljesülhet is.

Közel négy év után került vissza két díszes, XVI. századi műtárgy a Louvre-ba. A szépen kidolgozott mellvértet és sisakot még 1983. május 31-én lopták el a neves párizsi múzeumból, amelyek aztán nyomtalanul eltűntek a következő 38 évben.
Az 1560 és 1580 közötti olasz reneszánsz idején Milánóban kovácsolt fém páncélzatot arany és ezüst bevonattal látták el. A becslések szerint jelenleg körülbelül 500 000 eurót ér az Agence France-Presse (AFP) szerint.
Januárban egy katonai régiségszakértő véletlenül vette észre a műtárgyat, miután felbérelték egy ingatlan-aukciós értékelésre a franciaországi Bordeaux-ban.
A származása miatt gyanúsnak tűnt, ezért értesítette a kulturális javak kereskedelme elleni küzdelem francia központi irodájának (OCBC) tisztviselőit, amely a történelmi és kulturális szempontból fontos lopott vagyontárgyak nyomon követésére szolgáló különleges rendőri egység. A hatóságok ezután a Treima (az ellopott tárgyak elektronikus adatbázisa) által vezetett listáról azonosították az eltűnt páncélt. A francia Treima adatbázisa jelenleg körülbelül 110 ezer fotót tartalmaz, amelyek 32 ezer esethez, ellopott műalkotásokhoz és műtárgyakhoz kapcsolódnak.
A páncél és a mellvért bonyolult kialakításai miatt a műtárgyakat „virtuóz készítésű presztízsfegyverekként” azonosították, amelyek értéke mintegy megegyezik a mai luxusautókkal – mondta az AFP-nek Philippe Malgouyres, a Louvre örökségi műalkotásainak vezetője, amit a LiveScience tudományos online portál idéz.
A Malgouyres által „kivételesnek” titulált két darabot még 1922-ben a Rothschild család adományozta a Louvre-nak, amely a világ egyik leggazdagabb bankdinasztiája volt a XIX. és XX. század elején.
Biztos voltam benne, hogy egyszer még látni fogjuk őket, mert igen egyedi tárgyakról van szó – mutatott rá Malgouyres. – Ám soha nem tudtam volna elképzelni, hogy Franciaországban találjuk meg őket, és még mindig együtt vannak.
Hozzátette: nem ez a páncéllopás volt a Louvre legnagyobb művészi rablása; Vincenzo Peruggia 1911-ben ellopta a múzeum egyik leghíresebb festményét, a Mona Lisa-t, amit a hatóságoknak két évig nem sikerült előkerítenie.
