A Lyon melletti Bron város polgármesterét, Jérémie Bréaud-t már halállal és lefejezéssel is megfenyegették, mielőtt szerda este megtámadták és megrongálták az autóját.
A polgármesterre szerdán este támadtak rá fiatalok, amikor a köztisztviselő éppen a városi fiatalok munkavállalásának, képzésének és társadalmi beilleszkedésének előmozdítása érdekében tárgyalt.
A Köztársaságiak – konzervatív politikai párt – tisztviselője a tárgyalás helyszínére a polgármesteri hivatal gépkocsijával érkezett, amelyet – amíg ő a megbeszélésen volt – olyan mértékben megrongáltak a támadók, hogy az autót csak vontatóval lehetett a helyszínről elvinni.
Az épületből kilépve a polgármestert a rongáló fiatalok szidalmazni kezdték, és kövekkel, fadarabokkal dobálták meg. A polgármestert a kíséretében kilépő helyiek védték meg. Bréaud feljelentést tesz az ügyben.
A városvezető rendszeresen kap életveszélyes fenyegetéseket, legutóbb január végén falra festett graffitivel fenyegették lefejezéssel.(„Bréaud halott vagy. K**** anyád. Lefejezünk”).
Tavaly év végén pedig azután fenyegették meg életveszélyesen, miután a polgármester a városi és a nemzeti rendőrség segítségével nagyszabású drogellenes razziát hajtott végre a városban, és nagy mennyiségű kábítószert foglaltak le a várost uraló drogbandáktól.
A francia belügyminiszter, Gérald Darmanin már ekkor rendőri kíséretet ajánlott a városvezetőnek.
