Lőfegyverrel sebesítettek meg egy rendőrt ismeretlen tettesek szerda éjjel az észak-írországi Omagh városában. Válságos állapotban szállították kórházba.
A szolgálaton kívüli rendőrt, akit egy sportlétesítménynél ért a támadás, a hatósági tájékoztatás szerint válságos, de stabil állapotban kezelik az Omaghtól északra fekvő Londonderry kórházában – adta hírül az MTI a BBC értesülését. A brit közszolgálati médiatársaság úgy tudja, hogy a rendőrt több lövés érte.
Észak-Írországban 2017 januárja óta most először hajtottak végre fegyveres támadást rendőr ellen.
Az elkövetők kiléte és indítéka egyelőre nem ismert, de a BBC úgy tudja, a sérült az észak-írországi rendőrség (PSNI) egyik magas beosztású nyomozója, aki olyan merényletek vizsgálatában vett részt, amelyeket az észak-írországi britellenes republikánus mozgalom fő sodorvonalától elszakadt kisebb csoportok hajtottak végre.
A rendőr részese volt emellett szervezett bűnözői csoportok által elkövetett gyilkosságok kivizsgálásának is.
A támadást a legnagyobb britellenes katolikus, illetve britpárti protestáns pártok vezetői egyaránt elítélték. Michelle O’Neill, az ír sziget egyesítéséért küzdő legnagyobb katolikus párt, a Sinn Féin alelnöke és észak-írországi tagozatának vezetője – a jelenleg nem működő belfasti felekezetközi kormányzat volt miniszterelnök-helyettese – felháborítónak és szégyenteljesnek nevezte a támadást. Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, a legnagyobb észak-írországi protestáns parlamenti erő, a Demokratikus Unionista Párt (DUP) vezetője „gyávák által elkövetett” támadásnak minősítette az incidenst. Elítélte a támadást Leo Vardakar ír és Rishi Sunak brit miniszterelnök is.
Omagh volt a helyszíne az észak-írországi konfliktus legvéresebb merényletének.
A pokolgépes akciót 1998 augusztusában hajtotta végre egy fanatikus britellenes csoport, amely magát „igazi IRA”-ként azonosította, és amelynek tagjai jórészt az egykori legnagyobb észak-írországi katolikus milícia, az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereg (IRA) soraiból verbuválódtak. Az autóba rejtett robbanószerkezet 29 embert ölt meg, köztük kilenc gyermeket és egy terhes nőt, aki ikrekkel volt várandós. A robbanásban 220-an sebesültek meg.

Minnesota állam egy bírósága három és fél év börtönre ítélte azt a volt rendőrt, aki 2020 májusában három társával részt vett a George Floyd halálával végződő intézkedésben, a férfi szövetségi bűncselekményért már börtönbüntetését tölti.
Alexander Kueng a pénteki ítélethirdetésen videókapcsolaton keresztül vett részt, és nem élt az utolsó nyilatkozattétel lehetőségével. Az egykori rendőr még októberben bűnösnek vallotta magát emberölésben való bűnrészességben, valamint felbujtásban, amiért cserében ezt a két vádpontot ejtette az ügyész.
A büntetésbe beszámítják a már letöltött napokat, így a férfinak – az amerikai igazszolgáltatás állami és szövetségi rendszerében alkalmazott különböző kegyelmi eljárásokat is figyelembe véve – 2 és fél évet kell börtönben töltenie. A bíró emellett örök életére eltiltotta a lőfegyver viselésétől.
Alexander Kueng volt az a rendőr, aki a George Floyd halálát okozó intézkedés során az áldozat hátára térdelt, miközben a perben fő vádlottként elítélt Derek Chauvin a nyakánál fogta le mintegy 9 percen át. Az intézkedésben még két másik rendőr vett részt, akit szintén bíróság elé állítottak az emberölésben való bűnrészesség vádjával.
Az incidens vizsgálatának kezdetén mind a négy rendőrt elbocsátották a szolgálatból.
A George Floyd-ügy az egész Egyesült Államokra, és a világ több országára kiterjedő tüntetéshullámot indított el, ami a faji megkülönböztetésre és az afroamerikaiakkal szembeni rendőri erőszakra akarta felhívni a figyelmet, a megmozdulásokat több amerikai nagyvárosban erőszakos cselekmények kísérték – emlékeztet az MTI.

Agyonlőttek egy rendőrt a bolgár–török határ bulgáriai oldalán Goljam Dervent falu közelében. A 35 éves őrmester egy migránsokkal való összetűzésben vesztette életét. Ivan Demerdzsiev belügyminiszter bejelentette, hogy az ügyben a bolgár hatóságok vizsgálatot indítottak.
Az eset hétfőn, este 20.30-kor történt. 10-15 lövés dördülhetett el. A támadással gyanúsított migránscsoportnak nem sikerült átlépnie a határt, visszahúzódtak a török területen lévő közeli erdőbe.
A határőrök szerint a halálos lövés a török oldalról érkezett. Rumen Ragyev bolgár elnök ezért Törökország segítségét kéri. „Teljes körű, közös nyomozást kérünk a török hatóságoktól. Az elkövetőt mindenképpen azonosítani kell” – mondta a bolgár elnök.
A bolgár hatóságok tájékoztatása szerint az elmúlt hónapokban nőtt a határon átlépni szándékozó illegális bevándorlók száma, az viszont először fordult elő, hogy erőszakos cselekményt követtek el egy a határon szolgálatot teljesítő rendőr ellen.
„Ez egy bűncselekmény, szélsőséges agresszió… Ez az első támadás, amelyben migránsok lőfegyvert használtak” – mondta Ivan Demerdzsiev, aki ellátogatott az eset helyszínére.
Demerdzsiev elmondta, hogy a török hatóságok ígéretet tettek az együttműködésre és a felelősök felkutatására.

Az Állami Nyomozó Iroda befejezte a bíróságot megelőző nyomozást annak a kárpátaljai járőrnek az ügyében, aki halálos kimenetelű közúti balesetet okozott.
2020. június 11-én történt, a rendőr barátaival utazott Ungvárról Kijevbe, hogy új autót vásároljon. Másnap pihenés nélkül új gépkocsijával elindult haza, s előzés közben összeütközött egy motorkerékpárral. A balesetben a motoros és utasa is életüket vesztették.
A bírósági tárgyalásra hamarosan sor kerül, a járőrre akár 10 év börtönbüntetés is várhat.

A fővárosi hatóságok két személy ellen indítottak eljárást, akik november 20-án halálra vertek egy rendőrt a Perov körúton, valamint az áldozat barátnőjét is bántalmazták. A hírt a kijevi főügyészség sajtószolgálata közölte.
A nyomozás során kiderült, hogy a tettesek egy konfliktus alatt ütést mértek a rendőr 23 éves barátnőjének fejére, melynek következtében a lány eszméletét vesztette. Ezt követően a fiatalembert is bántalmazni kezdték, aki megpróbált elmenekülni, elesett az úttesten, s a bűnözők ekkor további ütéseket mértek le rá.
A történtekre felfigyelt egy taxis, aki megállt, hogy közbeavatkozzon, a bántalmazók ekkor elmenekült a helyszínről, s ebben a pillanatban egy másik taxis elütötte a földön heverő áldozatot.
A 25 éves rendőr a helyszínen életét vesztette. Az ügyben folyik az eljárás, a vizsgálatok megkezdődtek.

A jelentés szerint a rendőrök közlekedési szabálysértés miatt megállítottak egy Mazda típusú gépkocsit. Az intézkedés során kiderült, hogy az autót egy 71 éves helyi lakos vezeti, akin erősen látszottak az ittasság jelei. A járműben egy 13 éves lány is utazott. Miután a rendőrök meg akarták szondáztatni, a férfi beült az utójába, beindította a motort és az egyik rendőr felé hajtott. A törzsőrmester az autó motorháztetején kötött ki, de a sofőr nem állt meg, hanem még öt kilométeren át hajtott vele gépkocsijának az elején. Az ámokfutásnak egy fa vetett véget, amelynek nekihajtott a részeg taxis. Az ütközéstől nemcsak a rendőr sérült meg, akinek eltörött mindkét lába, hanem közepes fokú agyrázkódást szenvedett az autóban utazó gyermek is.
A sofőrt őrizetbe vették. Ellene hatósági személy elleni fenyegetés vagy erőszak és közlekedési szabálysértés, valamint ittas vezetés címén indítottak büntetőeljárást, amelyeknek a büntetési tétele 12 évig terjedhető szabadságvesztés. Ugyancsak büntetőeljárást kezdeményeztek ellene hatósági személy életének kioltására irányuló kísérlet miatt. Ez a bűncselekmény akár 15 év szabadságvesztést vagy életfogytiglani börtönbüntetést vonhat maga után.
