Több mint húszmillió kanadai dollár értékű aranyat és más értékes tárgyakat loptak el a torontói repülőtéren hétfőn – közölte helyi idő szerint csütörtökön a rendőrség.
A helyi rendőrség vezetője, Stephen Duivesteyn a Toronto Star című lapnak arról számolt be, hogy az arany és a több értékes tárgy hétfő este érkezett a repülőtérre, a konténert a teheráruraktárából lopták el. Hangsúlyozta, a rendőrség úgy véli, hogy a lopás elszigetelt eset volt. Egyelőre senkit sem vettek őrizetbe.
A torontói repülőterek hatósága (GTAA) rövid közleményben számolt be arról, hogy a tolvajok az elsődleges biztonsági vonalon kívül, egy raktár külső oldalán át jutottak be, ami „nem érintette a Pearson repülőtér megközelítését, és nem jelentett veszélyt az utasokra vagy a GTAA személyzetére”.
Az országban bányászott aranyat gyakran a Pearsonon tárolják, mielőtt a tengerentúlra szállítják. Kanada légi áruforgalmának csaknem fele ezen a repülőtéren halad át. A Toronto Sun szerint több mint 1,6 tonna arany tűnhetett el a repülőtérről, ami jóval nagyobb mennyiség, mint a hatóságok által említett 20 millió dolláros értéknek megfelelő lenne.

Fotó: REUTERS A 40 éves Mark Muffley-t azzal vádolják, hogy hétfőn a feladott bőröndjébe robbanószerkezetet rejtett a pennsylvaniai Lehigh Valley Nemzetközi Repülőtéren. A csomagot az Orlandóba tartó járatra, az Allegiant Air fapados légitársaság gépére szánta, de az átvilágítás során a reptér biztonsági személyzete kiszúrta a gyanús szerkezetet a poggyászban.
A személyzet azonnal értesítette az FBI-t és egy bombaszakértőt is, hogy vizsgálják meg a Muffley csomagjában talált tárgyat. A BBC szerint a szakértő megállapította, hogy a gurulós bőrönd bélésbe rejtett 7,5 centiméteres szerkezetben robbanóanyag és gyújtózsinór volt. A robbanóanyag egy, a tűzijátékokhoz használt granulált anyagból és villanóporból állt, amelyek keveréke képes meggyulladni hő és súrlódás hatására, ennél fogva a szerkezet valóban veszélyt jelentett az Allegiant gépének utasaira. A csomagban volt továbbá butángáz, öngyújtó, egy áramköri megszakító és egy kis kézifúró is.
A férfit a reptér hangosbemondóján keresztül a nevén szólították, mire a reptér kamerái felvették, ahogy Muffley sietve távozik. Az FBI emberei még aznap, a férfi otthonában kapták el a gyanúsítottat.

Vinnicában az orosz csapatok vasárnap rakétákkal lőtték a repülőteret, a támadás következtében tűz ütött ki – adta hírül az rbc.ua hírportál az ukrán fegyveres erők szárazföldi csapatainak sajtószolgálatára hivatkozva.
A jelentés szerint több rakéta csapódott be a vinnicai repülőtéren. A videofelvételeken tűzgömbök láthatók, a támadás nyomán valószínűleg tűz keletkezett.
Szemtanúk szerint a rakétatámadás Havrisivkát érte, ahol a vinnicai repülőtér található. Előzetes adatok szerint repülőteret négy rakéta találta el. Áldozatokról egyelőre nem érkezett jelentés.
Mint Szerhij Borzov Vinnica megye katonai kormányzója videüzenetében elmondta: „vinnicai lakosok, rossz hírünk van. Rakétatámadások következtében egy katonai létesítményt kapott találatot Havrisivka térségében.”
A robbanások tüzet okoztak. A Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálata jelenleg a helyszínen dolgozik a károk felszámolásán.

Szombaton a vulkáni hamu miatt a spanyolországi La Palma szigetének repülőterén leállították a forgalmat.
A szigeten szeptember 19-én kitört vulkán komoly fennakadásokat okoz és biztonsági kockázatot jelent a repülésben, ezért a légikikötő egyelőre nem indít és nem fogad járatokat. A Kanári-szigetek összes többi repülőtere továbbra is üzemel, a légitársaságok pedig folyamatosan vizsgálják a kialakult helyzetet és a járatok újraindításának lehetőségét.
Tegnap éjfél óta negyven földrengés volt La Palmán, ezek közül a legnagyobb 4,6 tizedes erősségű. Az európai Kopernikusz műholdrendszer által gyűjtött adatok szerint a láva jelenleg több mint ezer hektáron terül szét, a vulkáni tevékenység miatt pedig 2731 épület sérült meg, ezek közül 2606 teljesen megsemmisült.

Kiderült, hogy metamfetamin hatása alatt állt az a férfi, aki pénteken először megpróbált betörni egy felszálláshoz készülődő repülőgép pilótafülkéjébe, majd mikor ez nem sikerült, a vészkijáratot kinyitotta, majd kiugrott a leszállópályára.
Az eset Los Angeles-i Nemzetközi Repülőtéren történt az United Airlines 5365-ös járatán, ami Salt Lake Citybe tartott.
A mexikói férfi, Luis Antonio Victoria Dominguez eltörte a lábát az ugrásban. Megműtötték, és a héten valószínűleg már meg kell jelennie a bíróság előtt a repülőgép személyzetével együtt.
A 33 éves férfi akár 20 év börtönbüntetést is kaphat az akció miatt. Mint ahogy az hétfőn kiderült, metamfetamin hatása alatt állt az utazás előtti pár napban, és mikor felszállt a repülőgépre, a drog már elkezdett kiürülni a szervezetéből, ez okozta a zavart viselkedését. Nyugtalan volt, folyton körbenézett, és azt mondta a mellette ülőnek, hogy le kell jutnia a gépről.
A férfi azt állította, a többi utas kinevette és azt mondták, a gép más irányba tart, és ezért pánikolt be. Szólt az egyik utaskísérőnek, hogy le akar szállni, de a gép ekkor már a felszálláshoz készülődött. A férfi dulakodni kezdett az utaskísérővel, majd pedig a pilótfülke ajtaján dörömbölt, akik viszont nem engedték be.
A férfi ezután nyitotta ki a vészkijáratot, szerinte a pánikrohama miatt volt ereje hozzá. Közben a repülőgép is elindult, és a többi utas próbálta visszatartani a férfit, aki mégis kiugrott, elvétve a vészcsúszdát, és helyette a leszállópályára esett. A jobb lába eltört, és még így is megpróbált minél távolabb kúszni a géptől, mikor megállították a hatóságok.

Illusztráció 2013 óta erősen megnőtt a lefoglalt drog mennyisége, tavalyelőtt például 61,8 tonna kokaint foglaltak le a hatóságok.
Antwerpen Európa egyik legnagyobb kikötője, amelyen keresztül a kontinens számos országába csempésznek kábítószert. Október végén például 11,5 tonna – Hollandiába szánt – kokaint találtak egy Guyanából származó konténerben.
A kábítószercsempészek elleni küzdelem jegyében a belga vámhatóság a következő években minden olyan konténert át akar világítani, amely Kolumbiából, Brazíliából vagy Ecuadorból érkezett.

Több külföldön élő brit állampolgárnak sem fogadták el a Brexit előtt kiállított papírjait, amikor az ünnepek után az Egyesült Királyságból próbáltak visszarepülni. A hatóságok állítják, hogy a légitársaságok követhettek el hibát.
Nyolc Spanyolországban élő brit állampolgárt nem engedtek felszállni az Iberia légitársaság Madridba tartó gépére, azzal az indoklással, hogy a Brexit előtt kiállított dokumentumaik nem érvényesek – írja a The Guardian. A lap szerint másokat ugyanilyen indoklással egy Barcelonába tartó járatról a leszállás után fordítottak vissza Nagy-Britanniába.
A britek egyike azt mondta, hogy a légitársaság ügyintézői annak ellenére nem fogadták a spanyolországi lakcímét igazoló kártyáját, hogy a brit és a spanyol hatóságok is biztosították előtte, a régi dokumentum is érvényes marad a Brexit után. Ezzel még most is be lehetne lépni Spanyolországba – a koronavírus új variánsának megjelenése miatt szinte senkit nem engednek be az Egyesült Királyságból, de a spanyol lakcímmel rendelkezők mehetnek.
A spanyol kormány tavaly azt közölte, hogy az ott élő brit állampolgárok egy új fajta igazolványt kapnak az EU-s helyett, de a zöld kártyával továbbra is igazolhatják, hogy ott élnek. A madridi brit nagykövetség is azt állította az eset után, hogy ezzel a dokumentummal be kellett volna engedni az utasokat Spanyolországba.
A The Guardian arról is ír: január 1-je óta az amszterdami repülőtérről is 13 brit állampolgárt fordítottak vissza, mert úgy ítélték meg, nem mindenáron szükséges okból akartak belépni Hollandiába, és a szigorúbb járványügyi szabályozásban most már az EU-n kívüliekre vonatkozó szabályok érvényesek rájuk is.
Egy olyan esetről is lehet tudni, amikor egy Németországban élő britet nem engedtek felszállni egy Lufthansa-gépre, mert nem tudta hitelt érdemlően bizonyítani, hogy német lakcíme van. A British in Germany nevű érdekképviseleti csoport már jelezte is: hiába garantálta a német kormány azt, hogy ideiglenesen elfogadják a Brexit előtti dokumentumokat, a légitársaságok dolgozói nem mindig tudják ellenőrizni, hogy azok érvényesek-e.
Nem engedték hétfőn felszállni a magyar útlevéllel rendelkező utasokat sem az angliai Lutonból Pozsonyba közlekedő Wizz Air-járatra – erősítette meg egy kint rekedt utas a Magyar Hang értesülését. Több, Angliában élő és/vagy dolgozó magyarok számára létrehozott Facebook-csoportban is arról írtak, hogy fegyveres őrök terelték ki a magyar utasokat az épületből. Körülbelül ötvenen rekedtek Angliában. A Wizz Air szerint a reptéri ügyintézők hibáztak, a légitársaság elnézést kért, és ígérik, megtérítik az utasok kárát.
Magyarország nem fogad gépeket az Egyesült Királyságból a vírus nemrég felfedezett agresszív mutációjának elterjedését megakadályozandó, Szlovákia azonban december 25-től feloldotta a korlátozást. Sokan ezért azt a lehetőséget választották, hogy a szigetországból Pozsonyba repülnek.
A reptéri személyzet viszont már a szlovák szabályozásra hivatkozott, az utasok azonban jelezték, hogy az előzetes tájékoztatás alapján Pozsony beenged más állampolgárokat is, ha nyolc órán belül elhagyják az országot. Ezt a pozsonyi reptér meg is erősítette. Ekkor a lutoni ügyintézők azt mondták, a brexit miatt nem szállhatnak fel, mivel letelt a 72 órás türelmi idő, és a brit hatóságok csak a közvetlen úti célra történő utazást engedélyezik, a tranzitot nem. Nagyjából 50 magyar állampolgár járt pórul.
