A svájci hatóságok vasárnap közölték, hogy a Svájc és Franciaország határán fekvő Matterhorn, illetve a Tete Blanche környékén hat eltűnt síelőt keresnek, akiknek szombaton veszett nyomuk sítúra közben Zermatt és Arolla között. Közülük öten egyazon, Valais kantonban élő család 21 év és 58 év közötti tagjai, míg hatodik társuk Fribourg kantonból származik.
Az eltűntek utáni kutatást rossz időjárási körülmények nehezítették.
Zermatt népszerű hegyi üdülőhely, amely a világ minden tájáról vonzza a síelni vágyó turistákat.

Szörnyethalt egy holland család a svájci Alpokban, túrázás közben a mélybe zuhantak – közölte a helyi rendőrség szombaton.
Az 57 éves nő, 25 éves lánya és 22 éves fia Montreux közelében indult túrázni. A Rochers de Naye hegyre indultak, amely több mint 2000 méter magasan emelkedik a Genfi-tó keleti partjai fölé.
Csütörtökön veszett nyomuk, holttesteikre pedig pénteken találtak rá 300 méterrel a túraútvonal alatt.

Egy iráni állampolgárságú férfi 15 embert tartott fogva túszként egy svájci vonaton csütörtök este. Az iráni menedékkérő késsel és baltával felfegyverkezve, négy órán át tartotta fogva az utasokat. Végül a rendőrség agyonlőtte a férfit.
Egy svájci regionális vonatról riasztották a rendőrséget csütörtök este, hogy az Essert-sous-Champvent megállóhelynél egy férfi baltával és késsel fenyeget 14 utast és a mozdonyvezetőt. Ezt követően több mint 60 rendőr vette körül a szerelvényt, amelynek ajtajai zárva voltak.
A rendőrök tolmács segítségével és részben a WhatsApp alkalmazáson keresztül vették fel a kapcsolatot az iráni túszejtővel.
A hatóságok végül robbanóanyagot alkalmaztak, hogy eltereljék a férfi figyelmét, aki így rövid időre el is távolodott a túszoktól. A rendőrség akkor megpróbált közbelépni, de miután az elkövető baltával támadt egy rendőrre, ő agyonlőtte a támadót.
Eric Kaltenrieder főügyész az incidens után úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a – helyi idő szerint – 22 óra 15 perckor végrehajtott rendőri akciót követően az utasok sértetlenül elhagyhatták a vonatot.
Hozzátette, a 32 éves iráni állampolgárságú menedékkérő indítéka egyelőre tisztázatlan.

Az oroszbarát NoName hackercsoport kibertámadást hajtott végre a svájci szövetségi közigazgatás ellen szerdán, Volodimir Zelenszkij ukrán elnök davosi látogatása alatt.
A svájci Kiberbiztonsági Szövetségi Hivatal (BACS) közlése szerint egy DDoS-támadás következtében több svájci kormányzati weboldal átmenetileg elérhetetlen volt. A minisztériumok és szövetségi hivatalok weboldalait érintő terheléses támadást a NoName hackercsoport vállalta magára, amely már 2023 júniusában is megtámadta a svájci szövetségi kormányt.
A hackercsoport közölte, hogy a támadást Zelenszkijnek a Világgazdasági Fórum éves davosi találkozóján való részvétele miatt követték el. A svájci kormány biztosított afelől, hogy fel vannak készülve az ilyen támadásokra, így megtették a szükséges biztonsági intézkedéseket.

Megkezdődött Svájcban az emberiesség elleni bűnökkel vádolt volt gambiai belügyminiszter, Ousman Sonko pere.
Az alpesi országban hat éve letartóztatásban lévő, 55 éves expolitikust a vádak szerint felelősség terheli a nyugat-afrikai ország ellenzéke ellen 2000 és 2016 között elkövetett súlyos bűncselekményekért, köztük gyilkosságokért, kínzásokért és nemi erőszakért.
Akár életfogytiglanra is ítélhetik, ítélet azonban legkorábban márciusra születhet.
A perben 10 személy szerepel felperesként, köztük az üldöztetések nyolc közvetlen áldozata, egy fogságban elhunyt személy lánya és egy időközben elhalálozott személy örököse.
Az exbelügyminiszter perbe fogását az teszi lehetővé, hogy Svájc 2011-ben törvénybe iktatta az egyetemes joghatóság elvét, amely alapján Svájcban is bíróság elé lehet állítani a külföldön történt legsúlyosabb bűncselekmények elkövetőit, ha az országban tartózkodnak.
Sonko, aki 2006 és 2016 között volt belügyminiszter, elmenekült Gambiából, miután összekülönbözött Yahya Jammeh akkori elnökkel, aki néhány hónappal később maga is megbukott.
Gambiából Svédországba, majd Svájcba menekült, utóbbiban menedékkérelme benyújtása utána 2017-ben a hatóságok letartóztatták.
A svájci ügyészek negyvennél is több interjút készítettek a felperesekkel, tanúkkal és informátorokkal, miközben hatszor látogattak el a 2,5 millió lakosú Gambiába a nyomozás során.

Felmentő ítélet született csütörtökön az ellenzékiek megölésével vádolt Jurij Harauszki volt fehérorosz kommandós svájci perében.
A rorschachi katonai törvényszék a védelemnek adott igazat, amely egy sor formai indok alapján a vádlott felmentését követelte.
Az ügyészség három év börtönbüntetés kiszabását kérte, ebből két évet felfüggesztve.
A most 45 éves Jurij Harauszki tagja volt a fehérorosz gyorsreagálású erők (SZAHR) azon kommandójának, amely 1999-ben elhurcolt és meggyilkolt három fehérorosz ellenzéki vezetőt, Jurij Zaharenka volt belügyminisztert, Viktar Hancsar korábbi miniszterelnök-helyettest és közeli barátját, Anatol Kraszouszki üzletembert.
Hivatalosan az eltűnt három személy sorsát máig nem tisztázták. A tárgyaláson jelen voltak az eltűnt ellenzékiek lányai is, akik azt mondták, hogy hitelt adnak Harauszki kijelentéseinek.
Harauszki 2018-ban Svájcban menedékjogot kért, 2019-ben, a német Deutsche Welle televíziónak adott interjúban pedig elismerte, hogy tagja volt az egykori „halálkommandónak”.
A bejelentésre felfigyelt a Vjaszna Emberi Jogi Központ nevű fehérorosz civil szervezet és az Emberi Jogi Szervezetek Nemzetközi Szövetsége, és Svájcban feljelentették a volt kommandóst, miután 2021-ben meggyőződtek arról, hogy Harauszki Sankt Gallen kantonban tartózkodik. Velük egy időben az egykori ellenzéki politikusok családjai is feljelentést tettek a kanton büntetőbíróságán.

Mintegy fél tucat házat sodortak el kedden este földcsuszamlások a kelet-svájci Glarus kanton Schwanden településén – közölték a helyi hatóságok.
A károk mértéke ugyan egyelőre nem ismert, áldozatokról azonban nem tudni. Egyes épületeket eltemetett a sárlavina, másokban komoly károk keletkeztek.
A watson.ch helyi hírportál a kantoni rendőrségre hivatkozva közölte, hogy a hétvégi erős esőzések nyomán a földtömegek délután fél hatkor mintegy 400 méteren zúdultak le egy lejtőn, két óra múlva pedig újabb földcsuszamlás történt.
Nemcsak a közvetlenül érintett épületeket, hanem az egész környéket evakuálták. Legutóbb egy héttel korábban, hétfőre virradóra történt földcsuszamlás a településen.
