Legalább egy ember meghalt, és további 38 eltűnt, amikor leomlott egy szeméttelepen található hatalmas hulladékhegy a Fülöp-szigeteki Cebu Cityben – adta hírül a BBC. A mentőszolgálatok eddig a szeméttelep tizenkét dolgozóját szabadították ki, őket kórházba vitték.
Az összeomlott szeméthegyről több videót is megosztottak az interneten, az egyiken jól látszik, hogy a meginduló szeméthalom teljesen letarolta a telepen található épületet. A tíz hektár alapterületű szeméttelepen zajló mentési munkálatokra nagyjából háromszáz mentőszolgálati dolgozót és önkéntest riasztottak.
Az egyelőre nem ismert, hogy mi okozta a szemétdomb összeomlását. Egy városi képviselő arról beszélt a helyi sajtónak, hogy valószínűleg a nem megfelelő hulladékgazdálkodás vezetett a katasztrófához. Szerinte az üzemeltetők ki akarták termelni a hulladékhegy alatti talajt. „Ez nem egy higiénikus hulladéklerakó, hanem egy nyílt szeméttelep” – jelentette ki.

Bejelentés érkezett a tűzoltósághoz, miszerint tűz ütött ki a rahói hulladéklerakón, a Partizán utcán.
A megadott címre a rahói 20. számú állami tűzoltó-mentő egység tűzoltóit riasztották. 20 négyzetméteres területen lokalizálták a tüzet, majd véglegesen eloltották. A tűz keletkezésének oka és a kár mértéke vizsgálat alatt áll.

A Rivne megyei Sznovidovicsi faluban egy 13 éves fiú vesztette életét homokcsuszamlás következtében.
A három fiú a helyi szeméttelepen tartózkodott. Ekkor történt a földcsuszamlás, és a 13 éves fiút betemette a homok. 12 éves testvére azonnal futott a faluba, hogy értesítse a felnőtteket, míg a 14 éves barátja egyedül próbálta kimenteni

A hatóságok elmondták, hogy a fiút a helyi lakosok szedték ki a homok alól. Megpróbálták megmenteni, de sajnos nem sikerült.
A tragédia kapcsán előzetes nyomozást indítottak.

Kedd este a csapi lakosok értesítették a tűzoltószolgálatot, miután sűrű füst szállt fel a helyi hulladéklerakó területén.
Már 7 perc elteltével a tűzoltók dolgoztak a jelzés helyén. A tűz forrásától nem messze találtak egy 1968-as születésű személyt, akinek a kezén égési sérülések keletkeztek. A tűzoltók értesítették a mentőket, és átadták a sérültet az orvosoknak.
A nagy égési terület miatt – mintegy 100 négyzetméter – szükség volt a szemétkupacok szétdobálására és vízzel beöntésére az újragyulladás elkerülése érdekében. A szemét „tengerén” keletkezett tüzet, amelynek lángjai akár az 1,8 méteres magasságot is elérték, a csapi és nagydobronyi tűzoltók oltották el.

A beregszászi járási rendőrkapitányság munkatársai értesítettek az ellene indult eljárásról egy 39 éves nőt, akit gyermeke meggyilkolásával gyanúsítanak.
Nemrég bejelentés érkezett a rendőrséghez, miszerint egy csecsemő holttestére bukkantak egy hulladéklerakóban a járás területén. A rendőrség büntetőeljárást indított az ügyben. Mint kiderült, a gyanúsított eltitkolta terhességét a család előtt, s orvosi vizsgálatokra sem járt. Mikor megkezdődtek a fájások, egy melléképületben hozta világra a gyermeket. Ezt követően halálos sérüléseket okozott neki és a szemetesbe dobta.
Az ügyben folyik az eljárás, a vizsgálatok tartanak – közölte a rendőrség megyei kommunikációs osztálya.

A Beregszászi Kerületi Ügyészség átadta a bíróságnak a vádiratot annak a vállalatnak az ügyében, melyet földszennyezéssel vádolnak.
A nyomozás során kiderült, hogy a szemétszállítással foglalkozó vállalat több éven át egy zsúfolt szeméttelepre vitte ki a hulladékot, s törvénytelenül elfoglalta a szomszédos telkeket is. A szakértők megállapították, hogy 5,2 hektárnyi földterületet szennyezett be, mellyel 58,2 millió hrivnyás kárt okozott a környezetnek.
Az ügyben folyik a vizsgálat, az igazgató hamarosan bíróság elé áll.
