Elérte Tajvan keleti partvidékét csütörtökön a Kong-rej tájfun, amely az elmúlt 30 év legnagyobb kiterjedésű vihara, ami miatt lezárták a pénzügyi piacokat, járatok százait törölték a légi és a vasúti közlekedésben.
A trópusi ciklon miatt mintegy félmillió háztartásban szűnt meg az áramszolgáltatást – közölte a helyi kormány.
A vihar a tajvani központi időjárási hivatal szerint a hegyvidéki és ritkán lakott keleti Tajtung megyét érte el, az erős szél és a szakadó eső szinte az egész szigetet érintette.
A tűzoltóság arról számolt be, hogy egy ember meghalt, mert teherautója kidőlt fának ütközött Tajvan középső részén.
A korábban szupertájfunnak minősített Kong-rej az éjszaka folyamán kissé gyengült, de a trópusi viharkockázat szerint a 4-es kategóriájú hurrikánnak megfelelő erejű, több mint óránkénti 250 kilométeres sebességű széllökésekkel tomboló szélvihar maradt.
A tajvani meteorológiai hivatal szerint a tájfun kiterjedése a legnagyobb, amely 1996 óta elérte a szigetet.

Az időjárási előrejelzések szerint a tájfun a keleti partokat elérve a Tajvani-szoros felé tart majd, de már jóval gyengébb viharként. A szolgálat ettől függetlenül felszólította az embereket a szigeten, hogy maradjanak otthon.
Kelet-Tajvan egyes részein egy méternyi csapadékot mértek azóta, hogy a tájfun szerdán közeledni kezdett.
A védelmi minisztérium 36 ezer katonát helyezett készenlétbe, hogy segítsenek a mentési munkálatokban, míg a kormány közlése szerint mintegy tízezer embert evakuáltak a magas kockázatú területekről.
A tajvani közlekedési minisztérium arról számolt be, hogy 314 nemzetközi és belföldi légijáratot törölték. A tajvani nagysebességű vasútvonal, amely a lakott nyugati síkság nagyvárosait köti össze, jelentősen csökkentett forgalommal folytatta működését.
A Kong-rej az előrejelzések szerint péntek reggelre elérheti majd Kína szárazföldi területén Fucsien tartomány partvidékét és továbbhalad majd Sanghaj felé.

Eddig két halálos áldozata van a Krathon tájfunnak, amely csütörtökön viharos széllel és özönvízszerű esővel érte el a Tajvan délnyugati részén fekvő nagy kikötővárost, Kaohsziungot – közölte a tajvani meteorológiai szolgálat.
A meteorológiai szolgálat előrejelzései szerint a tájfun óránkénti 126 kilóméteres széllökésekkel először észak, majd észak-kelet felé veszi az irányt. A helyi katasztrófavédelem közölte, hogy csütörtök reggelig a tájfun két halálos áldozatot követelt, valamint további két ember eltűnt, és több mint 200-an megsérültek.
A vihar miatt a tajvani hatóságok figyelmeztetést adtak ki Kaohsziung és a szomszédos Pingtung településre. A heves esőzések következtében a két településen több tízezer háztartásban nem volt víz és több mint százezren maradtak áram nélkül.
A Krathon tájfun miatt 22 megyében és városban szünetel az oktatás és munkaszünetet rendeltek el. A sziget déli részén csütörtök estig felfüggesztették a nagysebességű vasúti közlekedést és 14 autópálya-szakaszt zártak le. A szigeten található legnagyobb forgalmú Taojüan nemzetközi repülőtér a kialakult időjárási helyzetre hivatkozva csütörtökön 211 járatát törölte.
A tajvani meteorológiai szolgálat jelentése szerint a keleti Taitung megye hegyvidéki területein az özönvízszerű esőzések miatt az öt nap alatt lehulló csapadék mennyisége elérte a 1684 millimétert.
A péntekig tartó heves esőzések miatt több mint tízezer embert költöztettek el a földcsuszamlás-veszélyes vidéki területekről. A hatóságok további lehetséges árvizekre és sárlavinákra figyelmeztetnek.

Mianmarban jelentősen emelkedett a Jagi szupertájfun okozta áradások és villámárvizek halottjainak száma, az állami televízió keddi beszámolója szerint már 226-an meghaltak, 77-en pedig eltűntek.
Az ENSZ Humanitárius Ügyek Koordinációs Hivatala (UNOCHA) szerint Mianmarban 631 ezer embert érintettek az áradások. A hivatalos adatok szerint a hónap elején Délkelet-Ázsiát sújtó Jagi szupertájfunt követő áradások és földcsuszamlások összesen több mint 500 ember halálát okozták Mianmarban, Vietnámban, Laoszban és Thaiföldön.
Az MRTV helyi adó szerint az áradások csaknem 260 ezer hektárnyi rizsföldet és más termést is elpusztítottak az országban, 26 700 lakóházat megrongáltak.

A Yagi tájfun lett az idén Ázsiát sújtó legerősebb vihar, amely kiterjedt pusztítást okozott a régióban. Augusztus közepe óta 33 ember halt meg Thaiföldön a kedvezőtlen időjárási körülmények miatt.

A Yagi néven emlegetett „szupertájfun” ledöntötte a Vörös-folyót átszelő hidat, amiről 10 autó és két robogó esett a folyóba- közölte a vietnámi miniszterelnök-helyettes. Eddig három embert sikerült kimenteni a folyóból, de tizenhárom embert még mindig eltűntként keresnek.
A 375 méteres építmény egy része még mindig áll, a katonaságot pedig arra utasították, hogy a lehető leghamarabb építsenek pontonhidat.
A Yagi, idén a legerősebb vihar, ami Ázsiában pusztít, és a Vietnámba érkezése előtt 24 életet követelt Kínában és a Fülöp-szigeteken. A tájfun az elmúlt napokban kb. 203 km/órás széllel rohanta le Vietnámot.

A tájfun csütörtökön Kjúsú szigetén érte el Japánt. Kjúsún három halálos áldozatról és mintegy 80 sérültről számoltak be a hatóságok, amelyek két embert eltűntként kezelnek. A trópusi vihar fennakadásokat okozott a közúti, vasúti és légi közlekedésben, és átmenetileg nagyobb üzemek, köztük a Toyota és a Mazda autógyár termelése is leállt.

Legalább tíz ember meghalt Vietnam északi részén a héten a Prapiroon (Esőisten) tájfun okozta áradások és földcsuszamlások következtében, kilenc embert eltűntnek nyilvánítottak – közölte pénteken a vietnami katasztrófavédelmi hivatal.
A Quang Ninh tartományban kedd óta pusztító trópusi vihar özönvízszerű esőzéseket okozott az ország északi térségében, ahol 300 milliméternyi eső esett – közölte a hivatal.
A halálesetek közül hét Son La tartományban, kettő Dien Bien tartományban és egy a fővárosban, Hanoiban történt – tették hozzá.
Az állami médiában közzétett fotók tanúsága szerint a víz szinte teljesen ellepte több száz ház tetejét Dien Bien tartományban, és elárasztotta a térségben található utakat. Az árvíz elmosott 30 ezer hektárnyi termőföldet, és elpusztított közel 20 ezer szarvasmarhát és baromfit.

A heves esőzések és áradások következtében a főváros, Manila térségében bezáratták a legtöbb kormányzati épületet, illetve az iskolákat, de a helyi tőzsdén is felfüggesztették a kereskedést.
Ifjabb Ferdinand Marcos Fülöp-szigeteki elnök kormányának ezen intézkedéseivel a katasztrófavédelmi hivatal ajánlásait követte.
A Pagasa helyi meteorológiai szolgálat szerint a tájfun csak felerősítette a délnyugati monszunt, amely július 11. óta erőteljes csapadékot hozott magával.
Az ítéletidő halálos áldozatai között volt egy várandós nő és kilencéves kislánya is a hatóságok szerint. Ők Manilától délre vesztették életüket egy sárlavinában.
Tízezrek váltak fedél nélkülivé, illetve kerestek menedéket evakuációs központokban.
A tájfun szerdán éjjel elérte Tajvan keleti részét is, ahol az első jelentések szerint már két halottja és több sebesültje van. A szigeten, ahol Gaemi idén a harmadik és az utóbbi nyolc év legerősebbjének ígérkező tájfun, csütörtök délutánig felfüggesztették a vasúti közlekedést, törölték a légijáratokat és tanítási szünetet is elrendeltek.
